Using A Toolbox For Office Storage

- Needed a way to store all my channel equipment and decided to try a toolbox. The cost of plywood, slides, and hardware would have been close to the same so I picked out a toolbox from Home Depot online to use. It was shipped to my local store for pickup and It took the 3 stooges over an hour to get it out of the store and on my truck while damaging it. What a nightmare it was. Got it inside and made some vinyl labels. It holds everything and actually doesn't look bad after removing the casters to drop it to table height.
This also shows how easy it is to make vinyl stickers using a Cameo 3 with printable vinyl sticker sheets. I have upgraded to the business edition software for exporting artworks for my laser.

Great idea to use these tool storage chests in many areas - even the kitchen! Why not? The shallow drawer configuration makes it perfect for utensil storage. Thanks for the tip!
That's what my wife said. We should get a stainless steel one for her baking supplies and pans in the kitchen. Wouldn't look bad on a raised wood kick strip to match the cabinets. Thanks for watching.

Overall it looks perfect in the room.
It took them an hour and 15 minutes to get it outside. The main door was blocked by merchandise and they finally wound up balancing it on a undersized cart to get it through the door. I was so aggravated by the time it was loaded I just wanted to get out of there. Luckily It was thin metal and I was able to straighten the front. I filled out a survey about the experience but never heard anything. Thanks for watching.

Not sure where he was from. He was a very nice young man and I told him if he ever needs anything come see me. We love all the drawers and it looks pretty good without the casters. That Cameo 3 has been a great cutter for labels, vinyl, and htv for t shirts. I keep hoping it breaks so can upgrade to the new model that is twice as fast and much quieter. Thanks for watching.

I was thinking Amazon. They have wonderful delivery crew for large items in our area.
I just bought four 41 inch Craftsman tool chest from Lowe's. Three hand holes in the boxes so I had to open them up and inspect them. they were fine.
got home and opened the fourth one which had no box damage and guess what? it was all banged up. Bad enough so I took it back. He pushed pretty hard for me to take it with a discount and kept asking me is it functional. I told him if you ordered a brand new red truck would you accept it with one blue fender?
after all this still functional. He finally got the point.
It's a shame how stores treat customers now a days. My damage could have been avoided with employees that were properly trained. I went through the same thing as you with a dishwasher that had the door damaged. They tried giving me a discount and I finally had to explain to the manager the door was bent and seal would leak making it unusable. Thanks for watching.

LOVE IT! Our Home Depot is really great with us so I’m sorry you’re experience was so bad. The manager here would have not allowed it to leave damaged with out some sort of discount or something to make you happy. I really like the idea of using that “white” cabinet in your room and I’m thinking I need this in my craft room / office! WOW, so much storage and a very handy sturdy cabinet unlike most furniture pieces. You’ve got me to thinking, hard!

Nice way to organize. About three years ago, I bought a large white one from Lowe's, it had black accents for the horizontal and vertical support. It is still sitting in the Box on the palate, because around the same time my neighbor's tree fell on the house and everything got buried into the garage. Hopefully someday I'll be able to unblock and use it. LOL

I would put your batteries in a fireproof bag especially in a draw with movement I had a small fire were one got pieced good job I was around, plus its in Your home. Looks nice great idea.

The cabinet is metal and should contain a fire if a battery goes up. Lithium batteries are in just about anything rechargeable these days and very few of them ignite without a load applied. The flat jelly pack type are the dangerous ones. UA-cam makes the world seem small. Thanks for watching.

1982 I built a house 4 months before closing I ordered a double wide refrigerator from Sears. I lived 2 miles away and they wanted $75.00 to deliver. I arrived with my trailer to pick it up. I wanted them to open it for inspection, they did not want any part of that. I summoned the store manager we opened the carton and there was a fork lift fork hole in the back of the refrigerator. I ordered a 2nd one. That one had been dropped and had crushed corner. I bought the next one from Penny’s 🤣🛫
I purchased many Kenmore appliances and never had a problem. I did have them destroy several benches I bought though. Those were the days when one person had to move 500 pounds around by themselves. Thanks for watching.

cool video. I got one too. However, ended up getting a smaller one because I have no one to help me haul it up 18 steps inside my condo and Home depot wasnt helpful. hopefully the smaller Husky 31 inch 6 drawer will be as useful as a larger one
This has turned out being a great storage solution. I just bought another that is shorter for my laser supplies and materials. the 24.5 inch depth really makes the drawers useful. Thanks for watching.
I enjoy your videos, and nice choice on the tool chest, I ordered a range hood from them and it took over a month, my email said it was in the store but they couldn’t find it , it was up front where you return items for over 2 weeks!

I had a similar experience once with them. I asked to see the manager, and told him what happened, and either they take 20% off of the price or they can take it back and sell it at a bigger discount to someone else as damaged goods. I got 25% off.
I think one of the guys that damaged it was a manager. I was so aggravated after watching them try to get out the door for over a hour I just left and hoped I could fix it. I didn't want to wait 3 more weeks for another and have to drive back to the store with probably the same results. Thanks for watching.

One more question about the stickers, are they white or transparent? I had been looking online for transparent stickers, but the price is prohibitive.
Have you ever tried dry gombos? I don't like gombos, the slimy inside is not to my liking. But I recently bought a bag of mixed dried vegetables, it included gombos, dried whole, and it is very nice, it was the best in the bag, it is very thin, crispy, very delicate. I don't know if it was sun dried or dried in an oven/dehumidifier. And it my have had a very slight coating of sugar. But it is very very nice.

They are white. I have not found clear sticker paper that is truly transparent so I just print a background color. These have a background that matches the wall paint.
I have never heard of gombos. We freeze the okra when it's small to eliminate most of the slime to make gumbo. Thanks for watching.

any offensive off gassing with the liners?
None at all. My wife has chemical sensitivity syndrome and checked them before letting me bring them in the house. She is like a canary in a coal mine and can't breathe if there is any type of chemical outgassing.. They did sit out in the sun for a couple hours before she checked them. Thanks for watching.

It's the light gauge Husky 72 inch box on homedepot.com . They come in several colors and sizes. This one is 21 gauge metal and if you need a heavier duty one it also comes in 19 gauge for $200 more. They don't look bad once you remove the wheels. Really nice storage. Thanks for watching.

They told me to return it if there is too much damage and didn't offer anything else. I didn't want to wait 3 weeks for a replacement that probably would have been damaged also. Employees that knew what they were doing and the big fire door not being blocked by thousands of pails of blacktop sealer and this whole fiasco could have been avoided. Thanks for watching.
