Filament shop: "So how many rolls do you need, Alex?"
Alex: "Yes"
I do love a tidy workspace, Top job
...said the Lord an Master of Metal 👍🍰
I would love to see something flying, maybe with a PulseJet?? #Time2BuiltLightFlyingTanks ;)
Colin have you seen Integza's turbo charged pulse jet engine? You should check it out, epic collab would be epic ;)
thanks mate ✌️ only things that's missing is a carpet 😜
@@achappel and a tie-rack!
Cool Colin... makers are really connected!
Little boxes in the workshop, little boxes made of PLA-y!
0:47 "So this is the current situation in my drawers."
Excerpt from Alexandre's collection of pickup lines
Dude, you have taken shop organization to a whole new level with new technology. Every time I think you're done, you just keep adding more killer organization!!! Your channel is a brilliant example to show how 3D printing and woodworking can live in harmony. And anytime people complain about 3D printing not being "real woodworking" I'm sending them your way. Keep it up! -Brad
Dude thank you so much for your kind words! I love what you do, and congrats on your first Million, I se you're well on your way to a second one allready :)
@@achappel Great video--I just subscribed and no doubt you'll hit that 1/4 million marks soon. Brad's a great guy. I love how he still interacts with the community outside of his own channel even after hitting that million subscriber milestone. His work ethic hasn't changed.
Did anyone else notice the "three sizes of drill bits" when holding up chisels? Love the videos Alexandre!
I did ha ha ha but he corrected himself the next time around talking about them ha ha ha
I would honestly Print those boxes for my Office, Great Design and System. I would also like to See how you construct those boxes or other Things in CAD
Did anyone notice he laughs in between words a lot?
It’s thehaha best
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice... not long as it turns out :P
Maybe in the next video we will see drill bits made out of chisels?
gridfinity hue hue
Your budget for filament is bigger than what i use for rent and food combined.. I envy that :D
People like you are the perfect example, what creatives could do „at home“ with the right tool like a 3D Printer 👍🏻
I need a version of this to organize literally everything in my future life. I don't think I can live without this now that I have seen this level of organization.
I feel like I’ve just had an tupperware get together for makers.
Does the master collection contain split files for the Prusa Mini? I have the old box combo and the files are split for 22cm but I'd nee it to be 18cm
There are a couple missing. They are split into A and B sections, but there are a couple of B's missing that could complete the sets. For instance there is a 1w x 2h "A" section with the label plate, but no 1w x 2h "B" section to create a full 1x4. There are 2 or three pieces like that. I've been printing on my Monoprice Mini and can only do a limited set, but am limited to 1x2, 1x1, or 2x2 due to the missing gap. a 1x1B, 1x2B and a 2x2B wold allow for printing at least up to a 2x4 for me. :) Overall not a huge deal though. The set is amazing.
excellent designs for the organizers! 👏😎
Yes very organized 😃
Hallo Adrian🦆😉 guess we watch the same videos
Hello
Hey marsgizmooo
Hello
I’d love to finally have a silverware drawer organizer that fits my drawer perfectly, and has the actual size slots I need.
It is the second drawer with all the miscellaneous kitchen stuff that could really do with this system for me. Simply by making all the holders effectively double height will make a huge difference.
thats smart! I am gonna tinker with tinker kad at some point when i have a moment to experiment.
I think I would also go with this one
Printing things not only for my husbands workshop, but for my kitchen drawers, to help organised those pesky utensils. Keep up the great work, you are truly an inspiration
You can tell that there is so much attention to detail in each of your projects and your channel has simply become my favorite DIY/3D printing channel.
PS: I would be so happy about the Prusa Mini. :D
This is the first time I’ve seen 3D printing being utilised in a way I could imagine myself using.
I'd print a prosthetic leg for my grandparent's dog!
So many drawers. So much procrastination... I justify it by watching videos on how to organize my messes. I think you may have eliminated my excuses and motivated some action! Thank you Alexandre!
I printed a buuuunch of the grid boxes to organize all my junk drawers, and I've never been happier! Thank you for all these awesome ideas!
this man must be bending time some how, how he gets this much printing done but still pumps out a video every week or so is mind boggling
had exactly the same thought, but maybe he has a secret 3d printer layer next door with 66 3d printers working 'round the clock :)
I always figured he printed a few of them and bought the rest on Shapeways or something. Unless he had the idea for this video a year ago, lol. That's a lot of printing.
00:47 "So, this is the current situation in my drawers. As you can see, it's really not that bad."
Your approach to parts organization here is incredible. I don’t know how to begin to express how helpful these ideas are other than to buy a bunch of plans, which I intend to do. ;)
Terrific video and demonstration on the utility of 3D printing in a workshop. Been on the fence about committing myself to learning 3D but not anymore. This will be my 2022 goal. Thanks Alexandre!
Not going to lie. These assortment boxes are definitely going to make an appearance in my own workshop before too long.
When he finishes to organize the shop, he I'll be used 1ton of filament hahaha
As I rework my shop space this spring I am looking forward to incorporating your boxes in to my storage needs. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Great video! I love how everything fits so perfectly in the drawers! The first thing I would print is stuff for cable management under my desk!
It's just satisfying to see all of them fit together
So much shop greatness going on here. I may just feature these boxes in an upcoming video of mine. I think I would print your camera rig parts!
Worlds colliding. 💪🏻
i watch you
Love love love it when other makers that I watch are commenting on each other's videos
@@icommaDK Same here. For some reason it always surprises me and I don't know why.
I was actually thinking about how to direct you to these videos halfway through only to find your comment lol
Alex, love your presentation of your videos and what great ideas you have for shop organization. I purchased your set of files for printing these bins and they are looking pretty good so far during the print. Thanks so much!
Love the boxes. They make my compulsion for organization happy. Definately would be one of the first things I print once I'm able to get a printer myself. Keep up the awesome designs.
The way he organized the drill bits is oddly satisfying.
First thing i would print: Dremel bit storage.
Absolutely LOVE the tiered box idea.
The spare bits under the drill bits is EPIC!! Looking at doing the same for my garage toolbox.
I love it! I’ve got a million little things that I could print but your drawer organizers are awesome and my workshop and kitchen drawers would be first on the list
Dear god of assortment, PLEASE make an addition of everything to fit in IKEA Kallax drawers that everyone has and really need an upgrade! Me and my friend Manos (that might have already contact you) have already made some normall boxes that fit in a grid too but we just can't keep up with your creativity! 😂 We believe these would be greatly appreciated in this community. Hope you contact soon 😇
Awesome idea!! We need assortment boxes to fit in IKEA Kallax. @Alexandre Chappel
You should be able to do that yourself with his standard files.
Measure the width of the drawers, estimate how many squares of the grid you can fit across at standard size, then either scale up or scale down the files for printing to get it within a few mm or fractions of an inch of a perfect fit, test print the grid base and check fit. Make sure you use that scaling factor for all the other objects and check their fit.
The only thing to watch out for is the height of the organizers, you would have to test it out to make sure there isn't too much dead space or that the boxes aren't too tall. I would guess it would be acceptable.
@@stringsofair8039 thank you. We thought of that but it would alla just come awkward. Also for the files in this video resizing wouldn't work well. It would need resign. I imagine his source files are parametric so it would be much of a hushle to make the STL files and I believe it would boost his site income.
Or (ironically enough) IKEA ALEX drawers that a lot of people use for their desks. The internal dimensions are 295mm wide by 525mm deep (which doesn't fit 55x55 very well!). I wouldn't want to scale the STLs as the wall thickness would be all off.
@@naxxtor Unless I calculated it wrong your scaling factor would be 1.072727 so it ends up being 59x59. That should get you right to 295mm wide with 5 rows and 8 columns with some space (assuming your 3D printer is close enough to printing 1:1)
You could shrink it one step to be 49.166x49.166 which would be a scaling factor of 0.8939393. That would get you 6 rows and 10 columns with some space.
Wall thickness is easily taken care of by setting wall thickness minimums and checking the slicer to make sure it's all good.
One day he will probably be 3D printing houses. Love the vids.
Even my 9 year old liked the way you have your drawers setup! Great job on the design! We would most likely print some organizers for our workshop as well.
I’ve been 3D printing inserts for sortimo and other cases for a while. This has been great inspiration for the next project, the case itself!
First thing one of those boxes for my drill bits so I can get my mug back.
I need a version of this organization for my kitchen, definitely the first thing I'd print
Very nice and tidy. My office staff will love these since they're going crazy with 5S thingy. These will be great to organize the electronics bits and component for my students project room.
Amazing! I'm looking for hardware storage in my shop and I think your custom made pack out cases and these bins are going to do the trick very nicely!
I'd love this for prototyping, I just started studying product design this year so it would come in sooo handy!!
Same here just started studying product design
Man, I need a printer to print those boxes, I’m dying in my OCD here 😂 so I guess if I won that printer then many more sorting boxes will be living in this world.
This is awesome. You've inspired me to re-oragainze my kitchen drawers and cabinets!
man you are depressingly efficient, creative and resourceful. I always sort of envy-watch your videos. Great work!
I'm still waiting for a video called "Building a shredder for all my old Boxes" 😂
Maybe He could melt them back down and make some art? or even better more storage options!
Use calcium alginate immobilized lactate oxidase to convert the boxes into pyruvate, then use yeast to turn the pyruvate into beer
I would start printing some wall-decoration for my big, empty walls!!
Dammnn good idea
Thanks a lot Alex, you just got me more time to do my own projects 😋, since my wife just let me do them after I organize my "closet/workspace” 🤫.
Now I just need to start to print!
Game changer dude! In my apartment, I have one drawer to hold all my kitchen items like: the scale, dough cutter, lemon juicer wine opener etc. It’s deep and doesn’t work well with drop in dividers. I printed several of these boxes with the grid and now have vertical storage for everything listed above. AWESOME!!!!
I love this. With the help of little printer, every drawer in my house would be filled with grids and assortment boxes!
I will print your boxes and complete the projects that i have laying around because i don't have a 3d printer.
Good
Great organization, particularly the drill bit organizer. I would definitely print the organizers you’ve designed and maybe some of my own.
I’m obsessed with your channel. I started making your boxes. I can’t wait to finish
This makes me want to build a workshop, just so I can print some of the organisers to put in it.
3D printing assortment ecstasy! And with international measurement system. Double ecstasy.
Your maker energy is contagious, I love your videos! So inspiring.
Love the channel and your ideas and plans for organizing a workshop are incredible. Look forward to every new video!
id have that printer going a years straight just on the assortment boxes.
I know rite! This guy makes it seems so easy to print, but this takes a shitload lot of time 😅
@@MaxHuisman ... and filament! 😅
Yeah he has 3 printers probably running for the last couple of weeks. It is a lot of printing. Also the many random colors suggest he buys filament in surprise boxes when some retailer sells filament cheaper buy you don't get to choose what you get (usually colors that are not selling great).
That’s why you swap out to a 0.8mm nozzle and increase your layer heights. Would cut down on time significantly
I'm going to print myself a tiny Alexandre, and he'll help organize my house!
Wow. I like this idea better than making wooden sections for everything. This is much more personalized. Great video!
Whew! After a ton of drawer organization of course, a bunch of little repair and enhancement parts I've thought of for several tools, and lots of little brackets for holding things in place such as fans, LEDs etc.
I love this so organised, I really want to get into 3D printing and the first thing I would print is desktop organiser for my model painting supplies :)
Yeah, the ender 3 v2 is a great starting printer. And if you are on tight budget the ender 3 does the job
First thing I would print: brackets for cable management
Glad I found this channel. First thing I would print is an organizer for my kitchen drawers. Thank you for sharing.
I never even thought of using a 3d printer to build these. Thanks for the great ideas and great videos! But I would definitely print a ton of these organizing boxes!
Hey I would print the bins that you made and then I would print some type of small stand for my printer and computer to sit on so that my computer does to over heat and so that I could add more paper to my printer.
Nice
First thing I’d print would be assortment box collection, the pack in your website
This got me super excited...such an amazing level of organizing things...love the grid system 😍
This is an amazing system. I need these to clean up the chaos in tool drawers.
Hey first off I would print the organization bins and then I would print more and more because my dads tools are unorganized and so are mine Haha 😂 then I would print some bits to keep my camera gear organized.
Love the camera gear idea
ok, now I really need a 3D printer 👍🏻💪🏻
Xd
I love my Prusa mk3s. It is so fun.
Man, after seeing this video, the first i would print had to be some kind of drawer organisation. This is so neat!
Awesome organization system! I would print out these boxes for my classroom so my students can be more organized!
Im a woodworker and Im still going gridfinity
Literally the whole video: "but wait there's more!"
Al - Just ran across your channel. I was impressed with the efficiency of your cabinet build last year. I didn't know MDF came in colors. Looking forward to more of your work. I'd certainly start printing the organizers and drawer handles. Thanks for sharing.
Love the video and the organization! Would definitely love to add the assortment boxes to my workshop, it really needs some TLC. Between the printer and organization my projects would definitely get finished instead of sitting in a corner like they do now.
Every time you lean on the drawer, my heart skips a beat. Like one of these days all of your materials and drawer are going to be on the floor.
haha I like living on the edge :P (ps: they are rated for 40kg)
@@achappel Have you ever tried to measure the weight you apply by leaning on it ? :p
I'm student of industrial engineering, I would use a printer to prototype, and learn about the technology with the goal of becoming an exert on the field of the 3D printing. Taxes are really high in my country, so prusa MK3S (not +) is 1100 euros and its only sold assembled. So I want to develop a printer that is the same quality as a prusa MK3S and is cheap to build in Serbia. Frist thing I would print is a 3DBenchy.
Every printers first print is 3d benchy. Virginity taker ⛵
Such a cool way to organise your space, and custom fit it the way you like it.
Glad I found this video. Just getting my workshop sorted out (new carpet, new storage). Definitely gonna look at printing some of these boxes. My drawers are a tip :D Thx Alexandre
The year 2055:
Alexandre: "Hey, I finished Organising my Workshop using 3D Printing..."
Internet: "Noooooo. God, Noooo, pls noooooooooo"
I want to make some dnd terrain for when my group can finally get back together and play!
I really loved how you made 3d prints for your drill bits and a storage below it.... i would build that the first
I would definitely print Woodworking jigs, shop organization bins, and parts for my dirt bike restoration project. Fantastic videos by the way. Everything you build is very high quality and I love the balance of restorations, 3D printing projects, and woodworking projects on your channel.
The first thing I would print is my prototype 4L computer case!
This is a great idea and I am planning to make that for my IKEA drawers, but for me, there is one huge problem with the drill-bits tray, especially if you have OCD: it works fine only while the number of drill-bits equals the number of slots, respecting their sizes. But when you lose a drill-bit, or it wears out and you have to replace it, and you are unable to find an identical replacement, the whole thing turns into an OCD nightmare.
You sure you arent misusing ocd ?
it surely isnt something that should be thrown around
Awesome job! Already got mine and started printing! Thanks a lot Alex!
First thing I'd print? My architectural model(s). As I'm at Uni studying Architecture I need to build a lot of small scaled models, which cost a lot of time and money...all of which I don't have. So this would help me a lot! :)
i would maybe print EVERYTHING THAT FITS IN THAT!!!!!! 😀😀
edit : of course which is useful and functional.
3 months ago: "I'm not going to reprint all of them :P just the ones from my main drawer. I just wanted to make a better design for people to make and not be limited to the solution I already had ;)"
I knew you'd reprint them all anyway, not just the small ones in the top draw- it's okay though, I'm only judging you slightly... ;)
A wet dream right there - but it feels like it would be a full time job just to keep up with the new stuff for project I'd be getting simultaneously
Man 3d printing on a massive scale is just impressive! I'd love to do something like that too!
The first suff to print: I would print is a USB holder
If i am the winner 🏆 of this giveaway
I will print boxes that you make in your video to put in my drawer, because in my drawer write know I have paper orgami boxes because I loved that idea 💡.
I will then replace them with 3D printed ones.
I will also print a submarine model and a plane and add motors and remote controlles as I love enginnering and technology.
I hope I am the winner.
HAVE A GREAT DAY.
Lot's of good ideals here. I just got into 3D printer and after watching this video, it inspire me to try some of these ideals. Thanks
Great video! I was just looking for a rack and bin system for screws, bolts, and other little parts. I never thought of printing my own.
