- A collection of James Brown's appearances on The Arsenio Hall Show (I don't know the exact dates, but it's all early 90s).
Converted from an old VHS tape. Please excuse the less than stellar quality.
Yes, I love him very much. He broke barriers that had never been broken before. Rest in peace Mr. James Brown 🤎. Never forgotten.
Amazing entertainer, talented beyond belief, left this world too soon. I am sure he's performing in soul heaven.
His presence is missed, heavily and his undying spirit still lives on.
I was a Bittersweet (41:47 blue dresses) and I have been searching the internet for a glimpse of myself on stage with Mr Brown for years. Finally found this. Thank you sooo much for sharing! Now I have proof lol
oh, wow! i'm so happy to hear that, Char. i'm glad you found the video.
who doesn't love James?
one humble brother
Absolutely!
One of the realists musical entertainers that ever lived. Thank you for being you...an delivering soul/music from the ❤️.
Mr. Brown was awesome. I was lucky to meet and have my picture taken with him.
It's good to hear James Brown say that when things were dark, the Hall show was that little light that helps get you through the night. It's true. If you had a rough day at work and come home after you watch the late-night show with Hall, you felt a little before going to bed. Since Hall was canceled, there has never been a successful duplication.
Hall and Conan will forever be the greatest and untouched talk shows ever in history. Nobody came close.
James Brown gave the world a musical genius without one filthy word.! When I listen I end up dancing my cares away and feeling powerful.
Reminds me of Julia Carson.
His music, however, was the filithiest sound to ever grâce the planet...
Bless your heart. Enjoy. Feel free. Wish you every good thing. ❤️
There will never be another James Brown I love the dance moves that is why he will always be The Godfather Of Soul.
The people enjoyed James Brown on the Arsenio Hall show. Rest In Peace James in JESUS 👑 name

James Brown was really One of kind man, he was Far more and than artist /performer He had a heart of Gold. RIP
That was fantastic. Thank you Arsenio Hall forhaving Mr Brown on your show. This is classic
Indeed!
Bless James Brown's heart! I recently heard his daughter say that he was a strict father, very much the disciplinarian making sure his children got a good education because he didn't have one. He was just a fabulous man: father, son and even husband. RIP James Brown.
In the words of song, PAPA DIDN'T TAKE NO MESS.
In 1974, I was eleven years old. My Daddy took me to see James Brown because he and I were both fans. The municipal auditorium, New Orleans La. Man I've never seen another concert as far as showmanship. He was young and in his prime then. Bootsy, Catfish, Fred, and Maceo were in the band. Clyde on drums, because I'm a drummer myself 🥁🎵. I love those guys. Great musicians.
Excellent wen he acknowledged All the Greats who have passed!! Thank you for posting this wonderful vid!! 💥👍💚😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🍾🥂👏😇💥🙌
My encounter with james brown was brief. I was doing the answering service thing. This call was from georgia and i knew the name and the voice. I was excited and i acknowledged. He was part of our jr.high school backdrop sound. Given the timing he was on a low. I didnt know about the arrest and prison time. He didnt talk but i managed to get his order in for delivery for butane. Never got to watch arsenio so now it was a blessing to see james brown get back up for his 2nd act.
I got to see James Brown in person in San Diego, California. Cost me 75 dollars, but I got to see him. Thanks, Arsenio, for letting me see him, again. Esther Gift/the Unknown Writer 9:01 on 4.20/2018
Did arsenio hear u thank him?😆

I would just love to point out that on any talk show James went on…any talk show…by the end of it, he would own the show, doesn’t matter who’s it is.😂🙏👏

😘Thank you for posting, especial thanks to you or whoever made this compilation❤ Awww man, this was SUPER GOOD!!! I LOVE that Mr. Brown used his appearance to give people something meaningful and for the many times he was hosted on this show! That's Love right There! & I TOTALLY LOST IT @ 55:42 when the 'Sweets' hit the Snake?!? 😂😂😂😂AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! That has been my all time signature dance lol, i was just goofing off doing it the night before lol LOVED how James had the band run through Arsenio favorite songs and all at just a wave or point of the finger! DYNAMIC!
DYNAMIC!!!!!
James Brown was my favorite
He was my mom's favorite, may she rip.😒
The best description I can give is a complete entertainer and no selfishness at all ! He'd put his band members and singers out there get recognized which is unheard of these days! Ego ego ego is one of the biggest turn offs ,cause there ain't no human being on this planet all that and if that's what you think you've been deceived
James was a lover of all people
I was only like 7 when arsenio came on tv and I stayed up late watching him every night until the show came to end. There’s never been anything like it !
I believe JB also appeared on Hall's final show in May 1994 and sang "Say It Loud,," as well.
The Godfather of Soul🗣🎙🎵🖤
When I leave earth I gotta meet this man somewhere during after life
Dance and then killed a keyboard that’s what legends do Rest in
Peace only one James Brown
DONT LEAVE OUT GOD..DONT YOU HEAR IT ..MR. BROWN MENTIONED GOD OVER A NUMBER OF TIME.GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE..CAUSE I DO TOO...RIP MR. JAMES BROWN...
05:05 ... I remember the jokes that Arsenio Hall made in his monologues while JB was locked up -- one, in particular, was scathingly hilarious.
Man I miss this era smh
Darius Olfus I do to this time is so different. People don't connect like they use to.

HipHop culture has never produced hard working artists of this caliber....James Brown, Prince, Aretha Franklin, was Show Business personified.
Hiphop? Lol what made you think of hiphop? This is real music right here.
Please, don't leave Michael Jackson off that listm
Mr. James Brown kept his Soul. And the music cult was angry. All those people who sold their Souls are going to hell fire.

Idk he has a song talking about selling his soul
First appearance probably late 91. Same band(x/"Pinck" replacing Joe Poff on sax) & 8 Dancing Stars as at Wiltern, 6/10/91. Second at 21:00 probably same show, different backdrop, Joe Collier still at trumpet with St.Clair & Hollie. Third appearance at 25:10 late 92/early '93, with Leroy Harper now on alto sax and Todd Owens beside Hollie as 2nd trumpet. Fourth at 36:10 likewise '93, with Ian Williams dance routine. Fifth at 42:00 definitely '94, with Waldo Weathers at baritone sax, St.Clair Pinckney on alto, and Kelly Jarrell having joined the Bittersweets. Sixth at 47:30 also roughly '94. "Mousey" Thompson has replaced Tony Cook to back longstanding lead drummer Arthur Dickson. St.Clair here on alto sax. Seventh at 56:30 is probably just before the program went off air, mid-94. Tyrone Jefferson on trombone beside Waldo. JB dances off the stage with Amy Christian. Quite a montage of appearances.
love James Brown the greatest entraîner of them all
Amen!
In the early 90's i was a pre -teen. I kinda miss those days.
For all his faults and failures…James always has my respect…The Soul Brother…The Godfather! Also lord…he came back in the 90’s with a vengeance.⚡️🙏
I wish I could have seen James Brown Prince and Michael Jackson live in their prime before they died

I saw James Brown in person before his death, It was unbelievable it’s been many years but I’ll never forget.
Master dancer master entertainer
27:10 That split tease was crazy. 😂😂
He definitely still had the flexibility. I wonder if him stopping them had more to do with his ability to get back up than actually doing them.
@ArrangerKeyboardPlayerActually the last time he did it was when he was being escorted to prison in December of 88 according to the guys who took him in. The last one on video is Japan Aid in October of 87.
No one clapped when James said,'I give all praise to God for my success.
Lol, they, like me probably couldn't quite understand what the great man was saying.
I'm sure! This is not a Godly audience especially not with those wild backup dancers. JAMES BROWN, EVER TH BUSINESS MAN, giving the fans what methinks they want. WOW.
Shaft Matinya All praise to the most high. 🙏
And that was 👎🏻
religious nutters

James Brown desegreged Sky
Party and became a hero.
That BUSTA from AUGUSTA G.A.
James Brown The Father Of Soul
I Never Got to See This
Even here, old as hell, James moves better than Chadwick Boseman did portraying him in the movie!
You gotta remember James also did drugs such as cocaine. James is tiring as hell to Imamate
@@evanjones7497 According to Damon Wood, who played guitar for JB from 1999 thru 2006, JB had zero interest in cocaine. On the other hand, JB did like his PCP, which he called "gorilla."
I named my child James, And I am WHITE! respect 4 the only 1 to ever do it

The One That I Saw is When Bill Clinton Played the
Saxophone
What's that song called at 22:40?
Move on
3 cheers for children who go to school and obey and honor their mothers and fathers 3 cheers for the parents who sacrifice so much of themselves everyday for their children oftentimes alone. I'm not mad at James Brown he lived his blessed life may he rest in peace. This country has failed so many people, its sad that so many have ended up incarcerated unfairly. It sad that so many are people of color. Some say BLACK LIVES MATTER. I say, ALL LIVES MATTER. Those who would take life indiscriminately belong in PRISON. Such a person is an animal.
I loved James Brown's music. I grew up, listening to his music. And, my favorite song is, " Please, Please, don't Go". He is truily missed.
God bless you too, for I'm sure you are loved by many some you may know and some you have yet to meet, live long and prosper. May you have much true love and happiness and the childlike joy of Christmas year round😊🍧🐞🎁🐝🎠🎄🎅these are a few my favorite things.
Just b4 He Was About 2 Get Funky One time... a Stupid ad... What?!?!?
