** A little explainer about the 'paid promotion' popup box - UA-cam defines paid promotion as 'accepting anything of value from a third party to make your video'. As mentioned in the video I was invited onboard by Celestyal which means that they paid my cruise fare, I'm never paid beyond this but the gifted cruise fair means I need to tick this box. All opinions are my own and no cruise line has control over my content. ** 🎉🎉 If you are curious about how I make money (selling cruises, website adverts, sales of my course, etc), check out this video >> ua-cam.com/video/clpjeAMjS0c/v-deo.html
I was on this as MS Sunbird. It was our first cruise with two young daughters and we were bitten by the cruise bug! Been cruising ever since. Nice to see there is still life left in the old gal yet!
My first cruise ever was on the Song of America! Even though it's been updated it brought back many fun memories. I don't remember the itinerary, but I do remember laughing uncontrollably when I walked into my cabin which was an outside, but so small and it was on deck 3 or 4 so there was a lot of noise from the ship. The food was amazing and I had so much fun that made me always look forward to going on another cruise. One of the amazing things was that a lot of the entertainment was provided by the officers. Drinks were inexpensive and I remember bringing a case of Heineken beer onboard from a liquor store in St. Thomas on one of my early Royal Caribbean cruises. How things have changed.
Gerry Corbino ‘Song of America’ was our honeymoon ship to Bermuda. We loved the ship! Sailed through hurricane Marilyn on our trip. Glad to see she is still sailing!
My very first cruise was in 1983 on the Song of America....the ship was not even a year old when I sailed. An amazing experience and I had a video camera back then and recently posted a video on my channel (Pat's Adventures) of the ship. I would love to go on her one more time!
Thanks for the video. I'm doing a Greece/Turkey/Italy land tour starting this Monday, October 3. I will be on Celestyal Olympia for a 3 day, 3 night cruise starting October 7. Thanks again.
"Dinner is quite late, it doesn't start until half seven" Half seven or six thirty is EXTREMELY early in Greek terms. My favorite Pizza place in Greece doesn't heat the oven before 10:00 p.m. ...
Hi Emma, thanks for the videos, they are very helpful. One question, were you able to be served alcoholic drinks while in Greek ports with the included basic package? There are some rumors that cruise operators are not allowed to serve booze on the ship while in Greek ports, only at sea?? Thanks!
Thomson Destiny was the BIG ship in the Thomson fleet when we started cruising. In order of size there was Calypso, Emerald, sister ships Celebration and Spirit, then Destiny. There was also Island Escape which was part of the First Choice group. Things have changed a lot since then. Looking forward to the rest of the cruise. We love that part of the world.
@@EmmaCruises We have great memories of Thomson/Marella cruises and their staff. That is the same for other cruise lines, the staff are always great. Of, course you do have the problem that the bigger the ship the more people you deal with. Our next cruise is on Quantum of the Seas from Singapore to Hong Kong. I am interested to see how that goes with a largely Asian cruise population, going with an open mind but the cruise is sandwiched between a tri round India and one to China. XX
I think 7 ports in 4 days is a little too many. My next cruise is in 16 days. It's a 10-day cruise to New Zealand with only 4 port days. With a 15 hour direct flight from Vancouver to Sydney. I found my 7-day med cruise even busy with 5 ports.

Great to see that an old ship is getting a new life.
She’s awesome 😀❤️ Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
This video is like a dance party with the music! 🎉🤣 Another great vlog!
Why thank you lovely ♥️♥️♥️

Haha! Thanks for sharing this sounds amazing. Most people seem very fond of the ship 😁♥️

Love how much detail you put in your descriptions!
haha! Thank you. I've got lots to say 😁
Great video as always. I think I would feel too rushed with 7 ports in 4 days but good for those with only a few days to spare.
What's the song at 4:55? 😂

Have a great time! 🥳🥳

bath on a cruise ship, so envious!
I would want to scoop up the kitties and take them home, I know I can’t but I would want to.

Yesss! She is a much loved ship but everybody :)

Oh my goodness that sounds amazing! I'd love to try a cruise line that. One day 😎♥️
Our second cruise was on Thomson Destiny - we loved it!
Ahhh amazing! I wish I had been on her as Destiny :)
I don’t know how big this ship is but it looks comfy and cosy to me !? Good video Emma , would love to visit Greece sometime . ☺️
Hey Julie! She's quite small by modern standarsd (1500 passengers, 500 crew ish). She was the 3rd biggest in the world when built I believe! :)
Emma Cruises How times have changed eh 😜!!!!

It is a little crazy! Fine for a short period of time though. That cruise sounds amazing, have fun. 😁♥️
Do u know if it departs from Istanbul to greek islands and back to Istanbul? And is a one year old baby allowed? Plz advice ❤

i like quick simple meals
If you can't throw toilet paper in toilets in greece, what are you supposed to do after a no.2? Love your vids by the way!
You just have to put the paper in the bin... Thanks 😁♥️
Yes, there is always a separate bin for that.
Looks fun! Try taking 3 ginger capsules daily and that should solve your sea sickness 👍🍹🚢🥳🐳
Thanks Mike. I usually prefer to eat ginger biscuits... Haha. 😂♥️
What do they do with the used toilet paper?
Put it in the bin 👍
would love included excursions!
Not bad for an old ship
Exactly! 😁♥️
