American here, the truth isn't supposed to make you feel good, it's supposed to be true. George is an American treasure.
It’s true what he’s saying wherever you live in this world. The flag may change colours but the same story
Watch Jacque Fresco!
@@bezdelnicarthank you!
Which one of the two American continents do you live in?
@@ed9095 that is a great question! I love pop quizzes, looks like a geography quiz today. I'll give you some hints to solve this mystery.
First hint: i live in a constitutional/ federal republic/ oligarchy.
Next hint: if this test was in my school, it would be multiple choice with no wrong answers.
Third hint: you can find me at this number-37.0902° N, and 95.7129°W
Last hint: 100 percent of the population believes 50 percent of the population are bat shit crazy, And the comedian in this video is being philosophical as he describes the government, and it's people.
I have a bonus question for you. Who is Amerigo Vespucci? And do you ever get told your really attractive, then start to think maybe you're more attractive than you think, but then you see a picture of yourself someone else took, and your like, oh shit I'm worse than I thought? Have an average day, I predict you will.
George Carlin once said: “When you’re born into this world, you get a free ticket to the freak show. When you’re born in the United States, you get a front row seat”.
Somebody once said that George Carlin was not a stand up comedian. He was a philosopher with a sense of humor. I tend to agree.
Same here.
I always called him a “Stand-Up Philosopher”, Ever since I heard the term as a kid in the movie History of the World - Part 1. I miss his social commentary and his sense of humor. I think he’d be horrified at where we are these days. 😂
RIP George
These are facts
“The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.”
"Truth is treason in the empire of lies" is another version I personally like more ;)
George Carlin was a thruth teller. Always pushing the envelope and speaking truth to power!
I love the fact to see non-Americans like yourself having your mind opened by a true prophet like Carlin.
He is right about EVERYTHING!!
Another comedian who is very, very similar is Bill Hicks (who tragically died in the early 90's). I recommend him wholeheartedly.
And don't forget - this was all over 20 years ago. Nothing has changed.
Anyway, rant over - keep up the good work!!!
George is right. That's why they call it the American Dream. Because you have to be asleep, to believe it. And I'm sure other countries can relate to the same thing. And a great reaction from both of you beautiful people.
Al Murray's American skit says exactly the same thing 👍
I’ve always said that Mel Brooks created the perfect description of George Carlin even though it was just a joke in a movie that had nothing to do with George Carlin. He is a stand up philosopher.
I,m 65 and have been listening to Carlin since I was 10, He has always been ahead of the rest of us. Well, he isn't afraid to say something we all think.
There is nothing but beauty in this. Unfiltered honesty and insight is a great gift. Many may snicker or dismiss the messages but there are those that see this and are sick of it. This country is turning into an idiocracy. Absolute fools applauding. We need more like George.
I remember seeing this when it aired in the 00s. When he said that last line about the American Dream, I can recall getting tears in my eyes....our nation is so f'd up.
Im from the uk what he said was facts! 100% a man with eyes open wide telling the truth of how shit is 👏👏👍
Unfortunately, he speaks the truth. Critics say that George got bitter late in his career but that's not the case. He loved this country and was truly disappointed watching it decline. Now you have many who would call you "unpatriotic" at best and "traitor" at worst for saying anything negative about the U.S. But you have to first admit there's a problem before you can do anything about it.
Comedy is subjective and perceived differently by everyone. IMO George wasn't funny his last few years doing standup. That's why some feel he became bitter, and I agree. Again, no right or wrong answer here, it's all subjective.
Probably true. Kurt Vonnegut Jr. was said to be somewhat bitter as he got older. There's a saying that says " Life is a comedy for the man who thinks and a tragedy for the man who feels." George Carlin did both. It's very hard on the people who do both. I know this from experience.
TOP 10 in no particular order other than Richard Pryor #1, Robin Williams, George Carlin, Eddie Murphy, Bill Burr, Jim Gaffigan, Jeff Foxworthy, Chris Rock, Steven Wright, Dave Chappell What say you?
@@MichaelW969 I like all the comics on your list. Carlin's at the top for me but I also like Louis C.K., Lewis Black, Ron White and David Cross
@vaughnnewman8903 Ron White's stuff during Blue Collar was incredibly funny but post- BC I didn't find him as funny. All comedians go through this
I'm a huge Bill Burr fan but his last live at Red Rocks was meh and his movie Old Dads was terrible IMO. I think Chappell is brillant but his special from December, The Dreamer, I didn't find funny at all.
Met him once, and he is exactly what he appears to be. George Carlin is the Everyman's George Orwell "Animal Farm, 1984", Aldous Huxley "Brave New World", and Jonathon Swift "Gulliver's Travels". He delivers a profound and cautionay tale. And he makes it fun... so people will listen. We ignore him at our own peril.
George is the goat for me
As George got older, his comedy became more philisophical and genius and less about funny bits and long memorized lists. He became an elder American statesman, and dangerous to the governments. George lived another couple years after this special.
He called it and I’m old enough to have watched it change . The way the world is heartbreaking and infuriating. I wish the young better luck than we had ☮️
I love you guys. You totally get George Carlin. His Earlier stuff was more playful and lighthearted. I think after thirty years, as George saw things get worse and worse, he dropped his filter.
The laugh was there to lower your guard and open your ears. Then he drops the Truth Bomb, and you receive it with open arms. It's genius.
He said "Blue collar, white collar, it doesn't matter". And they both got on blue and white tops.
You know, I love watching you both.
And I love watching u "bites lips"
It was kind of extra special with these 2. ❤
There's a million UA-camrs reacting to George Carlin. You two are my favorite ❤
George Carlin always speaking facts!
With age he lost what was left of his verbal filter..Prophet of his time for sure. If he were still here today I can't imagine his takes on current events during and post the "pandemic".
It's not that hard to imagine, actually. Ever since the 70s and 80s, his take on things didn't really change all that much.
I knew him more than you bub!
He wouldn't be wearing a red hat.
@@3RayJ3Probably, but I don't think he would cheering for the blues either. They're pro-war, pro-corporation, and left the working class for dead years ago. Just like the other guys.
Man it just occurred to me - you hear all the time about people loving to help other people, loving to serve, love to give back and you hear the type of professions they want to pursue: "teacher, doctor, social worker"... but you never hear "politician". And why is that? Aren't they supposed to be helping the greater good, be giving back to the community? Nope. Only those with self-interests or dreams of power pursue that.
I love the realization when it appears on her face! What a beautiful and special woman.
Whenever young people react to George Carlin, they often make him out to be some sort of fortune teller. Actually, this system he bashed went through 40+ years of evolution, following behavioral patterns of previous empires that have collapsed, and he was keenly aware and detected the signs. It started with questioning authority from a very early age and not taking anyone at face value. You just have to set aside time to do practically your own journalistic research and detective work.
George is Legend. You guys nailed it in your reaction.
HE ALWAYS PUT YOU IN EMOTIONAL MOOD SWINGS AT HIS CONCERTS😊, JUST YA NEVER REALLY KNEW WHAT YOU WERE ABOUT TO HEAR, SIMPLY AMAZINGGGG!💯👍RIP GEORGE!
George Carlin spoke the truth
I was in a relationship with a Lebanese American for over 40 years. We grew apart eventually, but we remain friends and I still visit them occasionally. I'm German and our families are both Catholics. That is why I love your reactions so much. George Cariin was a prophet. May he RIP
George Carlin was always fun and made you think. Sadly speaking about today in America.
I second that and agree with you 💯
You are both really nice people . What he says is true the game is rigged always has been.
"Huge piles of redundant protoplasm" lmfao, George has some of the most creative insults
Yes, for me it's that one and "structurally possible".
I believe it's not the first time you've mentioned that what George spoke about as not endemic to the USA alone. Probably the most bitter pill to swallow about democracy is that the same framework that gives people a semblance of freedom, also serves to empower the kinds of people who don't care about you or your family. It should make anyone feel justifiably angry.
Those with significant capital disproportionately influence democratic processes; perhaps what you're describing isn't so much an inherent flaw in democracy itself but the permissive conditions that allow market capitalism to abuse democratic processes.
George has an A cappella rap "Modern Man" 💚🤙🏼
George Carlin is the truth forever. 💯💯💯
Both of you....kind of speechless right? At the end of his career he was trying to show us what was going on. "And nobody seemed to notice, nobody seemed to care". Bravo guys.
Love George Carlin❤️🙏🙏👍
Carlin is brilliant. What's happening to Tik Tok in US is exactly what he said in this clip. They want to control what you hear and say...
YEAH, ( 2005 ) AND THIS WAS HIS LAST SPECIAL😮 OUT OF THE 14 , HE PASSED ON ( 22 JUN 2008 ) ☹RHYTHYM, TIMING, CADENCE, RAPIDNESS 👍JUST SO SO GOOD YOU GUYS! YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO ( MODERN MAN ) THAT WAS THE OPENER OF THE SHOW, JUST SO YOU CAN SEE THE SPEED AND MEMORY, UNREAL!💯
He did one more special for HBO in March of 2008 called “It’s Bad For Ya”. It was one of his best, you can see it on youtube. He died of heart failure that June at age 71.
This is what's great about UA-cam. People like you and me communicating ideas outside of governments and corporations. The world has never seen this type of dialogue before. Above everything, one truth is that we're all souls on this planet and we need to look after ourselves. We need to create a better world. We have to force the power out of corporations and into the people's best interests.
Carlin has always been a hero of mine for always speaking truth! We need more like him, especially in today's totally insane world!!
George Carlin was like the philosopher of comedy. If you didn't make you laugh you would make you think. Is one of those No holds barred comedians: it would make fun of anyone and everyone and not give a crap. And he told it like it is and he wasn't afraid of speaking his mind. And we love them for it.
*MORE* George Carlin please 😎
Uncle George will set your mind free.
Truth is an intellectual concept that's Universal navigating that to all the Customs that individuals are raised throughout the world is a challenge❤
Really enjoyed your honest reaction to a not funny but very true reaction to an insightful man teaching us important messages.
🙋🏼♂️ 🇬🇧 Hi lovely people great to see another reaction to GC . I hope you are not in any danger & out of harms way 🙏🏻 stay safe ✌🏻
I like to watch you guyz and laugh with you! AND....I'm way jealous of the guitars behind you!!
Hi guys, loving the reaction, George Carlin is the GOAT. Great bit from him is this, but he's done better bits like; 'Four Groups That Gotta Go' & 'The Death Penalty' (including capital punishment) please react to those soon, they're his best bits ever :) I love your reactions and channel and I'm subscribed :) take care and have a fun weekend. Lots of love from the UK.
8:50-9:20 ... ... watch our boys facials change as #SaintGeorge starts breaking down "Your Owners" ...
the greatest stand up philosopher
Want a good Carlin laugh? “Seven Dirty Words You Can’t Say on TV! ” He’s younger here. He started evolving his comedy during this time. I believe this bit was around 1978. “Ten Commandments” from more recent times is great too! Anyway! Have a great day you two!
It is not nearly as funny to young people or they don't get it. They lack context and all those words are now used on streaming shows and cable.
The greatest truths are always the ones that are the most difficult to swallow.
happy i found this channel. you two are very perceptive and open minded, it makes your reactions feel much more genuine and entertaining. good stuff
Honestly one of the best conversations after reacting to this video ove seen yet. Good work, good talk. I'll be sure to keep my eye out for more vids.
The more you listen, the more you think 🤔
Tom Macdonald must have been watching this guy.
George Carlin is a prophet straight out of the Old Testament. His are universal truths riddled with warnings. Comedy??..I laugh to keep from crying.
You can vote for who you want, and either can win. The problem is, usually they decide who the last two on the ballot are. Those two are typically on the same team. We are witnessing what happens when they unexpectedly lose and you don't play by their rules now. Along with John FK, and Richard N.
It is of course largely the same all over the world, but where the U.S. really shines is in getting its people to love the system that's exploiting them. I have always tended to go against the current, even as a very young child. I was always asking the kinds of questions that most people didn't want to address, but it still took me decades to dismantle the programming this society puts into its citizens. But your reaction to this bit does give me a little hope that one of these days we might fix some of these problems.
You guys are great. Stay safe & stay blessed. 🙏🙏, RIP George, thanks for the memories. 🙏🙏
Legendary George Carlin ❤ RIP
She is so pretty! 😘😘
"2:40 Hank Snow, Johnny Cash - Aw trawl II had mj scherr, man. II'w been ewrjvherr."
ALL **True** **LuvYaGeorge** & **Thank YOU** for **Trying**
As Woodrow Wilson (president of Princeton University, before later becoming Governor of New Jersey and then POTUS) put it in a 1909 address to the New York City High School Teachers Association: “We want one class of persons to have a liberal education, and we want another class of persons, a very much larger class of necessity in every society, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks.”
As an American I agree with everything he said. Old angry philosopher George is the best.
Fantastic! And great after-chat guys thank you!
I got to see him live for the last time while he was working on this material. He literally walked on-stage and said "eehh FUCK Lance Armstrong."
Great to see both again.
Check out George Carlin talking about Time. It'll blow your mind.
Before the land was horrifically stolen from the indigenous people!! Our ancestors lived a beautiful relationship with each other!! Respect
Facts from the legend.
Thats for sharing 😊
Every time I watch this I laugh at him about the overweigh imagine if he saw it now LOL
George Carlin, he's just awesome, You Guys r Very entertaining 😊
George Carlin was a genius and a prophet
Poor George, he thought that with 50 pounds extra they are this huge. Try 100-200 pounds extra. It's funny that when he talks about white and blue collar shirts, I noticed the colors that you are wearing lol. And on the topic of politics, Mark Twain once said: "If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it."
It's my first time seeing George Carlin but it's crazy i have asked myself too how do big people take a dump! But beside that live your life the way you want!
A lot of people think Carlin got too dark at this point in his career. They claimed he was too jaded from life's twists and turns. I remember thinking the same when I first watched this when it came out .
Seeing it now it seems a lot more like y'all said in the video... He was a prophet looking ahead. He was right then but even more right now.
Great reaction y'all seem very genuine I like it.
The superpowers...Black Rock, State Street and Vanguard own everything....
If you cant laugh at the face of truth, or least giggle ...you're lost in a lie. 😂
Greetings. One more thing. His routine "Flying" is really funny imo. Have you reacted to that skit?
If you ain't into politics, know this; politics is into YOU!
(btw EVERYTHING is politics)

Truth-teller...the greatest.
You should listen to Billy Connolly aka the Big yin .. 🇬🇧🧙🏼♂️ same smart vibe but comming from Glasgow's ship yards and pubs.
George us❤
Excellent reaction. You both get it. Yea when you think about it it isn't funny. It's just truth. Sometimes the truth hurts and it isn't funny.
all we are is dust in the wind
You should react to his take on Extreme Human Behavior from that same standup in 2005. You'll love his take on that subject matter.
I go to the our neighboring country....NY state...and I can say everyone is super-sized. But I love my American cousins. I wish them good health. :(
G.O.A.T.
Truth Bombs!
a good saying is there would be no wars if there was no politicans
It happens here in Australia and from where I'm from NZ
also check out, everyday expressions that don't make sense, Stuff, abortion, war, extreme behavior, homelessness, thins you never see, child worship, little moments, sports, death, free floating hostility, our similarities, and at least 30 plus funny bits
Speaking facts! Rip
Democracy doesn't guarantee any outcome.
But democracy does have one important feature that may not be guaranteed, but does seem widespread, and that is transparency. Transparency does have its limits, and presidents like Donald Trump ignore transparency with lies, but transparency is much greater in democracies compared to autocracies.
There are many other practical elements of autocracies and democracies that has its benefits and detriments like the one you pointed out--freedom of speech.
Agree with you. But we always have to guard against the illusion of transparency when presented as fact. That goes back to the critical thinking point that George Carlin made.
Got a pencil? Get the f* in there it's physics 🤣
One of my greatest hopes for humanity is that George Carlin will be erelivent.
You have to be asleep to believe it. It hits hard doesn't it?
