- In this episode a dealer tips me off to a wrecked Chevy/Geo Prizm sitting in a driveway across town and I strike a deal with the elderly owner to bring the poor squished little creature home
I love seeing cars like this get saved. So many people send cars like this with nothing wrong with them to the scrapyard just because of some easily fixable damage, and then buy some modern crap that isn't going to be half of what the old one was.
You can show me a video of some exotic car, or a sports car, or anything like that and I wouldn't click on it or care. A cheap 90s car being saved from the crusher? YES PLEASE!! I think that came out absolutely great.
I also much prefer the Geo logo over the Chevy logo for these. Maybe you could find a nice one for the trunk as well to make it match the wheels and grille.
finally an upload good to see new vid from u jimmy
So much effort to make it different than a corolla yet it looks just like a corolla! :) The cat is living is best life on the hood!
The legend returns
Cool find! Try spraying a little wd 40 in the ignition cylinder and gently move the key in and out a few times to lubricate everything and see if that key chime stops when no key is in it. I had that issue once and it was the little piece that tells the chime to go off was dirty and stuck.
3:49 $600 cat bed = purrfect !!
It is a nice cat.
My dad had a 98 prizm lsi for over 20 years. It was his runabout car. He drove the crap out of it. I learned to drive in it. Many inside door handles were snapped over the years. It had over 280000 miles when he sold it.
Damn I miss that car.
Did the handles snap suddenly or did they start breaking off in bits? It seems like a big manufacturing or design fail for the handles to break off 😆 along with being either super annoying or hilarious I can imagine
Sold my 2001 Camry 2.2L 5SFE a few years ago with a spun rod bearing for $700, You got a fair deal in my opinion
Good work and eye for new projects. Love tuning in
I own the previous generation Geo Prizm and i prefer them over the Toyota Corolla. Because most people don't know the name Prizm, you can pick them up for far cheaper than it's cousin, the Corolla. And alot of older people bought Prizms so they aren't all beat to hell like most Corollas. Can't wait to see this car go through the complete series of repairs. The high beam issue is probably because of a wiring hardness issue when the front of the car got crunched. Not sure how you pulled off $600 for that car because in most areas of the country these cars bring atleast $1,200, especially with only 109,000 miles.
High beam issue turned out to be both low beam bulbs burned out thankfully, I just went up and talked to the old guy and he was ready to get rid of it. He wanted $1000 at first but after we couldn't get it to start and it needed a battery and it was out of gas etc he came down to $650. I did a carfax check and the mileage is accurate so it will make a good project to restore
@@jimmyjimjims7483 Awesome. I came across your channel about a month ago and have been watching all your videos. You're one of the very few on UA-cam that constantly restores/revives these Toyota Corolla's and Geo Prizms. I absolutlely love when you do to keep these cars on the road and each time you pick up a new project, i always get excited. I'm a huge Geo Prizm fan as I owe a 1994 Geo Prizm LSi currently. Over 30 years old and runs like it's brand new.
That tire was not made in april of 2021...it was made in the 45th week of 2021. The first two numbers are the week it was made, second two are the year
The Prizm tho.
Bruh came up on a legit Champion.
I brought one in 2008 when I was in CA . The car was 1998 Prizm with 30K original miles. I have Asian mechanic fixing the power lock for $25.00 with used parts and replaced internal parts that wear off. I put 125K miles and sold in in CT 8 years later for 2K.
Cute kitties, good deal on that Prizolla. 109k it’s not even broken in yet! Also looks clean for a 2000. I own a 2000 Yukon XL and the clear coat is peeling on the roof and hood
Those are probably 14 inch rims &tires that is 90 percent of the poor handling those tires have very soft side walls and it makes you feel like you’re all over the place at high speed. It’s hard to find any 14 tires that are good if you can find any 15 inch rims that will fit the car tires on a 15 inch ram will makea huge difference in the way that car drives. Trust me. My wife had a 2001 Corolla and I happen to come across a set of 15 inch tires that fit her car not really thinking about it put them on and the car drove completely different.
That's great to know
The hood needs a 2x4 straightening and the left fender needs to be pulled out to get the gap right.right fender needs adjusting to meet the gap..
cat is like dont mind me ill sit here while u film
those prizm and corollas are really good cars had a few my self, .i have a 2000 corolla that was a hit by a 1500 pound moose and it is still running though a bit bent up
all those cats are so adorable, im glad to see them all being pet :D
I've done oil changes on these with 300,000 miles running trouble free.
Wow! That really turned out nice! This one deserved a second chance. It still has a lot of life left if taken care of.
Glad you made a vtdeo! Been waiting 4ever.
Passing thru via New Mexico, El Paso today wanted to say hello. Looking forward to the next video.
Hello! Its almost done, I have some editing to do but part 2 is on its way
I just bought a 2000 Prizm and need help, it needs an ignition and corner headlights with blinkers, that’s it then I have to run it in an inspection to register it, I have the title but it doesn’t require keys to start because of my ignition
love the content and style of filming
Prizms rule!!
Hell yeah!
NEW PROJECT ALERT
4521 on your dot number on your tire means it was built on the 45th week of 2021
Dude,
I want to see that sweet Firebird in front of that Prizm.
I recently inherited it, its a 2002 Pontiac TransAm WS6 (Last of the Breed Edition) with a fully built 5.7L LS1, Tremac T56 6 speed manual and tubular racing frame. It was built as a drag car by a close friend of mine to compete in straight line drags but he developed brain cancer last December and wasn't able to finish it, I'm hoping to start working on it soon so I can finish it but for now it sleeps in the back of the driveway till I'm ready
I love your videos. Can you please buy a Civic next?
$2k seems a little low for the Previa. A supercharged one at that. I'd reckon you would be able to get $3k for it.
I feel the same way but nobody wants it, I've had it listed for awhile and I haven't even had a single call or text even at $2k, usually I price my cars a little lower and they sell the same day or within a week but not this one. I'm not sure if the market is down or what but its been a struggle trying to sell it, a friend of mine wanted it but they backed out at the very last second so I guess I'll just sit on it awhile
@@jimmyjimjims7483 Yeah those are super rare vans. I'm am surprised too that you are having an issue selling it. I would hate to see it sell for 2K since as lovers of these products know they bring so much more. Previa's are super rare these days and to have one gone over by an ethusiast like you would surely mean a quick sale. Guess i'm wrong.
@@klwthe3rdI haven't gotten to that part of the video in case it's mentioned, but what marketplace is it being sold on? If it's only posted on Facebook, The marketplace's search sucks so an enthusiast who searches for a previa on there will never find yours for sale.
Maybe targeting the enthusiast crowd can be done by posting on the classifieds of Toyota forums.
Bro another great video but I swear your like the de beers of stock holding 90s to 2000s Toyota's😂
Does that year have the 4 speed auto? Hopefully you can find replacement parts for it. Do Corolla parts interchange?
Nope its a 3 speed auto because its a base model, the LSi got the 4 speed sadly. It actually hauls ass for being a 3 speed, much better than the early 90's 3 speeds
The best chevy is a Toyota they had a working partnership with the chevy Nova 1986 1987
a good daily.
enable your likes so i can like the video, this was pretty good
very very nice
