I always like the fact that Golduck is pretty much the most desired Pokémon in hardcore mode purely for weather negation, because Altaria is the only other choice
I always believed that Flying/Fire is an amazing defensive typing (in terms of Fire types maybe just behind Fire/Water and Fire/Steel) Moltres and Talonflame have always been great pokemon held back by dumb stones
Why would you skip route 10 when it has 70% wooper? Quag is 100% better than a starter it solos Bruno as long as it switches in on zamazenta which is easy to make happen
@@NextWeeek if zamazenta is on the field which is pretty easy to make happen you can switch it in and then use guard swap on zamazenta and then beat the whole team with recover + counter. Also it's not just good for Bruno and you shouldn't play like your going to lose. There are plenty of starter egg routes. 7,8,9,13,14,15,17,18,fuschia,lavender,20,21 can all be used, but wooper/quag can only be obtained on route 10. And you only really need the fire starters + primarina and empoleon or samurott then maybe decidueye. It is one of the 3 best E4 mons along with Golduck and primarina.

I actually beat this game though without editing my evs or maxing my ivs, and this pokemon carried me through champion fight, mega swampert with rain dance or drizzle
