Hi Joshua! We use the iPad Pro (amzn.to/3StSH3D), we find that to be the easiest way to quickly connect to the internet saving you time in the field. One less step for you! You can connect it to your phone plan or set up a Pre-Paid usage bill depending on your service provider! Thanks for reaching out!
I don’t run into that issue that much. I don’t use LiDAR ever so I get by using the headlamp if needed and then turn my flash on my ipad and that works for me. I also have a back up flashlight in my bag in case I am in an attic. I plan on buying a mini clamp light here soon too. On that I can place on a rafter in an attic when needed.
@@parrotkey I’m a flood adjuster - so I’m there are many homes with little light . I have issues getting my iPad to flash correctly … resulting in dark/ grainy or blurry pics. I’ve been looking for a good clip on light
There are both online courses provided by Verisk, or you can find locally hosted classes that allow you to get your Xactimate Level 1, 2, 3 and Mastery
After you set up your tree, how do you dimension the elevations on iPad Xact mobile? Do you just draw walls and use that dimension, or add line items and then complete dimensions once you are back on the local account? I dimension in the tree normally, but you can't see the 'tree' in mobile, and I cannot find a way to dimension the group (left elev., right elev., etc..., etc...) on the fly.
Do you pull the file back down from the cloud on your I pad when your at the property or do you pull it down on your I pad before you go out to inspect. I am assuming you do this, so that the measurements and info are in the file as you work on it out in the field?
Hey man, good to see you! I do pull the file back down prior to going out into the field. Eagleview and estimating tree completed so I can easily flow through the file when on site. The macros are a huge part of it. Taking the time to make them xactimate mobile friendly, is a bit of a pain. You have to label them a certain way to get the macros to stay in order when you transfer over to the mobile application. The desktop and mobile version organize them in different ways so its a bit frustrating. My good friend and partner in Parrot key Arman, and I have been working on more videos and will have them up by the end of the month We did one on creating macros that can be used for xactimate mobile.
Thank you, my friend! I have not used Symbility in the last year or so, but the last time I did work with the software, I was disappointed with the fact that it did not have a mobile application like xactimate does. I definitely will keep this in mind for future videos! Just looking to help others through the pain and suffering I had to deal with learning this! Thanks again, my friend!
@parrotkey Yea I agree, symbility needs to step up their game for sure! I hear Allstate is switching to them in a couple years, as well as others....btw because of your content I went out and bought an iPad pro 12.9 with your exact case! Thanks man!
@@Joshua-le1vn That's Bad a** brother! I HIGHLY suggest grabbing a bluetooth clicker. It changed the game for me. I tried MANY brands and found the Chubby Buttons 2 (on amazon), was the very best. A little pricy with them being $80, but so worth it as you can keep your hand in the back of your ipad the entire inspection. Also, I wil have my "Inspectastik" for sale very soon. Wont be more than $10 a stick. Helps out with the pointing out damage and not having to annotate as much. All about cutting down that time!
@@parrotkey Cool man, I'll Def be in line for that inspectastick! How will I know when it's ready? I'll also check out that Bluetooth clicker. I look forward to more videos!
How does it work if the tpa sends you the assignment via XactAnalysis? If you set up your tree and send it to the cloud, you can’t retrieve it again, is my understanding. Wondering if you’ve run into this issue, thanks
Great question my friend, So unfortunately most of the time we are stuck creating the tree each time. Most of the folder names should have quick keys so after you type a few letters you'll see it appear. I would recommend selecting the "continuous add" button in the corner when your creating the labels if you have-not already, it will save you time from having to click the new folder button each time. You can also have a pre set file with the tree you want use in a dummy file, and copy and paste the contents from with in the settings. But i will say its just as easy to set up the tree with the continuous add button selected, you can type your label, click enter and move on to the next, click enter, and move to the next etc. hope this helps!
Dang are you a gamer/hacker or a contractor? Lol Look at that freakin computer setup! No really, I downloaded and paid for xactimate professional to use on my android mobile device and cant even get anything started. Anytime I open and enter I do not even know where to start as well when I found where it looked like I needed to be it stated I did not have tge correct "writing service/program" something to that extent?
What’s up man! I do game but not on this set up, mostly on the monitor mounted on the wall behind me in some videos. It’s a bad a** one for sure! As for the message you get on your android, I’d jump in xactimate live chat and ask them about that. I always used a PC for the desktop version or an iPad Pro for mobile. If I had to guess, the android device can’t support xactimate. It requires a lot of power behind it and even earlier iPad models couldn’t support it. Jump in chat and ask them for sure
