Sorry newbie here, great video. Wouldn't you usually annote the pictures and what they are looking at? I'm working with various firms and they usually push back when things are not annotated.

Yes you are correct! Carriers will require some sort of annotation or description of the damage being observed. We have found great success so far from the carriers and firms file reviewers that have looked at photo reports with the inspectastik being used. So far all of them think its a great tool to be using. The inspectastik is great to have so you don't have to place a arrow in the photo, makes it so you can skip that step and go straight to your description!

Thank you, my friend! I am working on the next batch as we speak. I got a new laser engraver and have been figuring it out the last week or so. Tomorrow is my first day off in a while so I should be able to figure it out and get the sticks back up by Friday

I purchased the chubby button and it sync's to my i pad for taking photos through the i pad but I am not able to get it to work in xactimate mobile taking photos, How do I get it to sync to xactimate mobile.

To answer the Xactimate issue, currently Xactimate does not allow the use of Bluetooth clickers within the app. We have reached out to Xactimate to see if they would be able to integrate the Chubby Buttons Bluetooth clickers into their software, and their response to us was. "Until they have received enough claims regarding this issue, that's when they would have their tech teams find a way".
We are actually about to post a chubby button exclusive video on how to connect it quickly and to answer the main question of why it doesn't work within the app.

Any advice on getting chubby buttons to work with mobile.mine will only raise the volume when trying to take pictures in Xactimate ?
This has been an issue for all of us. My work around is taking them outside of the app and then uploading right after the job, in my truck. That is when I will drop them in the correct folders and get them labeled as well. It doesn't add really too much time to the process and works for now. If you could jump in to a live chat with Xactimate and let them know you would like this fixed, that would be awesome. The more "complaints" they get, the higher the issue goes up the to-do list, is what I was told by their staff. I will make sure to say something at the next conference I see them at and we all should do the same! lol

Hey, what size iPad do you prefer?
11 inch ALL DAY. I just “upgraded” to the new 12.9 and it’s driving me nuts. I gave it to my wife and brought back my 11 inch 2021 iPad Pro. I will def be buying the new iPad again. But just in the 11 inch. The 12.9 is just too much in the field and is kind of heavy!

What is the drone for?
Unsafe roofs, Steep 3 story building’s, overview photos of the home or building (some attorneys like this), etc. Those are a few of the reasons I have one.
@@parrotkey I was hoping you would say "to get roof measurements" the same roof measurements Eagleview gets with their drones, mane that would be a game changer.!
@@sebo450 I actually take an overview roof photo from directly above sometimes, and upload that into RoofR.com and sketch it myself for a dollar!
@@parrotkey does it import into xactimate as 3D and with accurate measurements?
@@sebo450 It does not upload into xactimate, but gives you a roof report with every measurement needed to write the estimate. Then I just attach the RoofR file to the estimate and let them know the measurements were based off of that report. When the roof is too difficult, I order an eagleview and move on lol I try to do the least amount of work possible when in deployment so EV is my best friend come storm time.
Do your carriers allow drones or are you just using it and not saying anything about it?
Carriers allow it when you have your drone license. I really never use my drone unless it’s really needed. It is a very rare occasion when I do as I am very comfortable with most slopes. When you get into the 10/12 is when I opt for the drone or if the conditions of the roof are not favorable, Ill send the drone up. I plan on getting my drone license after storm season this year so I can fly it more often. For now, I use it and ask for forgiveness if the carrier brings up the usage of the drone lol. I will say, I can fly this thing low enough to where no one questions me ever. I position the drone to not show a shadow as well. I would suggest climbing the roof every time you can and only the drone when really needed. Especially if the damage is not severe and you have to get your hands on the material to better see.

In regards to your question, You do not need a drone license if your drone use is recreational and falls within the scope of The Exception for Limited Recreational Operations of Unmanned Aircraft USC 44809 you do not need a drone licenses.

In summary, as long as your doing it for recreational purposes, maintain eye sight, and obey by any basic FAA laws listed in the terms and agreements when authorizing flight in that area.
However, to get the license is very simple, just apply for the test, study, and pass and you'll have a basic unmanned drone license.

I'll check out the link! I've just heard of nightmare scenarios, as well as many different points of view on the subject, that you can get fined large sums if they discover that it is used for any commercial situation where the possibility of a profit or for business is involved.
I was going to use it for real estate marketing but backed off...
My water mitigation company is an LLC in Tennessee so I want to collect as much info as possible!
