Excellent video. The information conveyed answered a number of questions that I had.
I enjoy all the videos you guys make. I currently have a shapeoko 3 xxl. I will be upgrading to the 5 pro 4x4 soon. One thing I would like to see or get info on is work holding for the front end offset for joinery cuts. Not sure what would be best, just t track across the front or if it would need to be more robust. Trying to get ideas on this before the new table with enclosure build would be great. Keep up the great work!

Hey Kevin, great video as always. I would love to see a video on 3d depths, leaving the inner portions of a drawing higher and as you move out you get deeper. Maybe it sounds easy to some but I have yet to get the profile I am looking for. Thanks alot man.

Great video as always, I'm a newbie to CNC and find your video's informative and entertaining. Specially appreciates you spending the time on the details of the editor and techniques. Always picking up a new tip. The entertainment factor is great as well, nice seeing a project from end to end. I purchase the 5 pro 4x4 and would recommend to all. Would love to see a auto bit changer option for the machine :)

Just ordered my machine today. Assembling a work table out in the shop. Very excited to put some creative ideas into production. Maybe I can figure out a way to make some gas money while I'm at it. Thanks for posting this information.

Also, since I updated I see the align horizontally and vertical tool that I didn't know I had. Thanks guys thats awesome.
Also, I notice that one thing I mentioned to you on another video is now fixed. Disabled tool paths don't calculate anymore. Thats great!
If you read this I hope y'all might take this into consideration to?
The "t" abbreviation is awesome but its capabilities can be expanded easily.
For instance if I had a set of plans with a dog bone cut out I should be able to use "t" inside the width and underneath the hood the script should have an "if then else" condition statement to use the thickness of the wood if the letter "t" is found.
There after I should not have to change the width of that dog bone for a different thickness of wood. I have not tried that in this new version but I am assuming that it still does not do that in the "scale" dialogue box as it does in the set up dialogue box?
I think this would be furthering the usefulness of "t"!

I wondered what the layer thing was. Can I use it to overlay text so lines don't cross?
What do you mean by “lines don’t cross”?
What controls the changing of the tools? How does the machine know it needs to stop so you can change the tool?
The G-code is written automatically by Carbide Create. Carbide Motion reads that code, which contains commands directing the machine to ask for the next cutter.
@@carbide3d Thanks but i am just starting and havent purchased a shapeko yet, I am on a trial with carbide pro and using on no name cnc, getting the basics down. I think i am using usgs or something like that, will it do the same as motion?
No, Carbide Motion does a lot internally to coordinate tool changes. UGS will just send the G-code to GRBL. You'd want to talk to your CNC vendor to see how tool changes should be handled. (Probably, each tool should be written to it's own file)
