I am so happy with my 2023 Mitsubishi outlander. It looks classy and high end. The drive is great, very smooth. Has lots of safety features and is perfect for a family. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a family SUV.
Just rented one for a week's holiday with the family of four. The lights are fine and really appreciate the huge boot and usable tech. Only gripe it's a wide vehicle with poor visibility of the corner but has good sensors. 9/10 !

I have one of this. It’s curious how opinions can vary for the same vehicle. I think that the LED lights are excelent but the ride it’s a little hard. I agree in the exterior styling. For me, it’s the best looking in the segment with the best warranty. Nice review!
The third row is more usable if you adjust the middle and front seats up a few inches before using it. Great for moving 7 people 50 miles or less. I dont use it much, but then again a third row is nice when you need one.
What is the cruise control like? I have a 2020 ASX and the cruise control doesn't limit your speed when you're going down hill, which defeats the purpose of cruise control!
ES, LS, and LS Black Edition get the same standard LED headlights as the car shown here. The Outlander Aspire, Exceed, and Exceed Tourer upgrade to auto-levelling adaptive headlights.
I have the 2023 Black Edition & have no issues with the headlights. I feel like they are nice and bright at night. Never thought they were too dim or anything. Otherwise great review!
Hi there, thanks for making this video. It was very useful. I just got a question as based on some issue that I found it from online from some customer. While driving on high speed does the hood of the car shakes or vibrates?
Thanks for the review. But there is one thing which I dont think you covered in your review. i.e. spare tyre/wheel in the boot? does this model have any spare tyre in its boot space?. Thanks
The US and Canadian videos tell it has no spare wheel, but just the tyre repair kit. Is it same in Australia ?. None of the australian videos discuss about the spare wheel or repair kit. I'm thinking about this black edition, but worry about missing spare wheel.
We get a space-saver spare wheel in Australia - which is mentioned in the full review on our website: www.drive.com.au/reviews/2023-mitsubishi-outlander-ls-black-edition-review/
Great review lots of kit. Was looking at Aspire and Eclipse Exceed. This is 2k less than the Aspire but what are key differences? They appear to have very similar specs. And why is diamond white $200 but other grades its $900? At 47k it aint cheap. I have a 20MY asx gsr with full LED lights and do you think the outlander are worse better or same. The fog are great but HB poor and driving are just ok.
Differences: Aspire gets heads up Display, Adaptive Headlights, Electric power Tail-Gate. 2 Tone 20" Alloy Wheels, Roof Rails . Multi Around 360 Degree Surround Cameras
@@rayoneill5677 thank you. The only feature there I might want and need is adaptive headlights. It may come down to inventory wait times with whichever I can get and not wait 6 months.
@@aussieburn777 we were looking at going for the LS Black Edition but we got a good deal on an Aspire after trading in our old car and some wheeling and dealing. It came down to a $1500 price difference between the Black Edition and Aspire and for that price difference, it was a no brainer for us to get to the the higher speced Aspire. We were also seriously considering the new Nissan X Trail STL but Nissan's stingy 5 year warranty and much more expensive capped price servicing only every 10000km swayed us towards the Outlander, despite also liking the XTrail.
Wonderful cars but the way manufacturers keep lowering the roof line makes them impossible to get into if you are over 6 door two. Subaru got my money, the Forester has not succumb to this ridiculous trend.
Can you get this without the back row at a reduced cost? I'm impressed with the fuel economy, which is comparable to a much smaller car. It has some stylings from Range Rover on the front that make it look impressive. The tyre spin at take-off tells me this SUV should only be AWD. It's dangerous to lose traction like that when trying to merge with fast-flowing traffic. Otherwise it appears to be a very nice vechicle.
You can only get the LS Black Edition with seven seats. Mitsubishi doesn't make the third row optional, however you can get the entry-level Outlander ES with five seats and either 2WD or AWD or there's five-seat versions of the Outlander plug-in hybrid, in both ES and Aspire trims.
I heard back from Mitsubishi, Outlander supply for non-hybrid Outlanders (except for Exceed) are good, with stock in dealerships. Exceed and PHEV variants are described as 'on order', so depends on when dealer can secure a build slot for you. Triton GLS and GSR supply levels are also described as good at the moment.
There's no direct replacement for Pajero in Mitsubishi's current range. The Pajero Sport is off-road suitable, the Outlander is a crossover SUV, so more road focussed, but able to handle some light-duty off-roading in all-wheel drive models.
Knowing it uses Nissan, aka Renault, drive train is enough to turn me away. Nissan CVTs have a horrible reputation for reliability. Though the 10 year warranty, with a catch, might mean the CVT will be covered.
There's no head-up display on the Outlander LS Black Edition (or the regular LS), it's included on the higher-spec Aspire, Exceed, and Exceed Tourer grades though.

I like this SUV look very nice.
But i'm concern now about he's saying about the lights.
Are they that bad that you can't see during the night.
Just rented one for a week's holiday with the family of four. The lights are fine and really appreciate the huge boot and usable tech. Only gripe it's a wide vehicle with poor visibility of the corner but has good sensors. 9/10 !
I got the Aspire . I get so many compliments. Its a beast machine 👍
We also recently picked up our Aspire in sterling silver, and it's fabulous!

Its a great car for its price range, cant do much better and it looks classier and more high end than all the similar priced competitors.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Gustavo, hope the Outlander goes well for you!
So the LED headlights are quite good you've found? That's interesting given the harsh critique.
Gustavo, is the ride harsh because there's not much rubber between the rim and the roadway...with those 20 inch wheels with 45 series sidewalls?
@@aussieburn777 I think the headlights are OK, they could be better with projector LED's.

Great review as always Sam. We have purchased a Black Edition, arriving late March. Great car and represents great value!

First reviewer that has mentioned the lights are poor, is it only on this spec or does the headlights improve the higher spec you go?

I think that problem was on the 2022 models, but it has been corrected... I just purchased the 2023 sel touring model and there's no issue at all..

Well it sounds like they have corrected the issue for 2023

The Outlander reviewed in this video has a space-saver spare wheel located beneath the boot floor.
Would be great to know how the Putlander performs on the highway for those long-distance travels and over taking capabilities of the 2.5ltr.
What colour emblem suit best on diamond black car ?
How do you use the cargo blind?
really good value and a good review

Wondering about spare tyre. Does it have mag wheel or normal wheel

Gets a Space saver
When does the black edition come out in Australia?
Mitsubishi launched the Black Edition in December 2022 and vehicles are in dealers now.
Does the black edition have a powered tailgate?
There's no powered tailgate on the MY23 Black Edition, a powered tailgate is available on the Aspire, Exceed, and Exceed Tourer grades.

I will ask Mitsubishi on current waiting times for Outlander.
They’re not bad at all. I’m in Brisbane and had a look at them this week - they had one black edition available now, and more coming in on 7th July

Hallo warum der Mitsubishi outlander kostet in Amerika ap 42.000 Dollar ?....... und in Europa ab 58.000 Euro ????
Yeah no...2.5 naturally aspirated and no awd? Are we living in the dark ages here? My uncle's horse and cart came with awd...smh
Is it a Mitsubishi or Nissan engine?
The petrol Outlander uses the Nissan PR25DD engine, plug in hybrid versions use the Mitsubishi developed 4B12.
if that was AWD I would be all over it.
You'll need to go up a model grade to access 4WD, unfortunately.
As soon as he said Nissan engine, that was a deal breaker, terrible quality issues at Renault/nissan
Mine has 220, 000 miles on it without any issues

Its a car & take away the boot, throw few seats in the back and suddenly its a 7 seater,,,,,naaaa dont work that way
the black wheels look ugly

Goon.
I wish they would stop referring these as “family” SUVs.
What's a better term?
Who else buys these things??? SUVs are the station wagons "family taxis" of the modern era
