Very very generous 🐅❤️🐅
You are very welcome!!! You channel is great!!
Whoa richness
You just earned another subscriber. What a gem of a channel. Always incredible content. Looking forward to the ultimate showdown! I'm using a lot of your thoughts to decide if I am grabbing an Aperio or Shang Sr.
Welcome to the fam 🐅
Should be a great deal of fun
Are these three units are beasts business
@@ConvinceMeAudio Just put in my Shang Sr. I hope I like it! If not, I suppose I'll get an Aperio instead. Thanks for your great reviews.
@@findingabby what energiser and DAC are you planning to use?
@@ConvinceMeAudio I'm going to try it on my T2 and Carbon CC. I'll be selling the amplifier that I prefer the least. DAC-wise... tons of options, to say the least.
What a stack, what a review and brilliantly conveyed impression, what a time to hit subscribe.
Welcome to the fam 🐅
Damn man. I was thinking, I can’t wait for a Susvara 2. I guess it has been in front of my all this time. Sounds amazing. Hope to try out one day.

It's not a Shangri-La review without sunglasses and suit
he should carry a caviar on hand
Your videos are so high quality! You’ve gained a new sub, and I especially love the cinematics; spot on. 👍
very much appreciated, thank you, I hope it was of some help
Welcome to the fam 🐅
God i Love this channel, and you are so generous responding to comments.
Godbless.
@@justingriffin2546 deeply appreciated, comments like this make my day
And it’s my pleasure 🐅
Any plans for an Arya Organic review?
Glad you are still making content. I thought you stopped because your videos haven’t been recommended to me in ages. Just happened to find this video and see that I’ve missed a few vids.
Thank you UA-cam, that’s very much appreciated, I wonder why
Oh yes, but consistently making content on a regular basis. I have no idea what’s going on, but thank you for dropping by
Maybe this is where the annoying press the notification icon thing might be useful LOL
Good God i have been waiting for their review since forever (video form trusted reviewers i mean not random forum guys)
Brilliant mix of subjective and objective discussion - noone else quite like it.
So I just went to my first Can Jam and I got to hear some great headphones on some remarkable sounding amps. My favorite was the Raal Magna Duel Ribbon headphone played through the RAAL Requisite VM1-A tube amp. I also did a side by side comparison of the Audezee CRBN2 electrostat played through the Z10e amp and the Woo Audio electrostat tube amp. And I liked the Z10e better, although both sounded excellent.
Best reviewer in the game
Thank you 🐅❤️
Best headphones I own, and I own, or have owned them all including the HE90, SR-X9000, SR-Omega, and many others. Used with a DIY-T2.
How do you define the best, only technicalities? Also how do you define technicalities? Every systems are also different how do we compare systems to cans or A’s system to B’s system. Using the same chain to compare cans is more problematic as the synergy level of each link differ.
High Technical level is so easy to reach. The price of my six stage stage lines& cabling is an Aperio, which could literally raise the technicalities of any can beyond summit Fi level. Accurate and scientific comparison is hard to established.
Ooo t2 planning to bring the viva in soon
@@ConvinceMeAudio one of the problems is that you don’t have the cabling, isolation equipment and power lines good enough to sustain and support the gears you got for reviews. You lose from the ifi power cables.
@@hifix-man319 the interconnects and power cables are all very decent, though there is room for improvement, but it’s the power station I’m hoping to jump to the Niagara 5000 soon
One step at a time, I don’t plan to sustain an 80 K set up for these headphones LOL, but the experience was truly fantastic and I think there is still room for more
But there is some truth, partially in this comment, definitely, where things can be improved and tweaked even more, I agree
Right now, the interconnects and power, cables et cetera clock out 9000 US
Alone, it can get very problematic
The fact that old Billie Eilish tracks are mastered in Audio Technica M50X kills me
And what are new ones mastered on?
How do they take a bass shelf? Blasphemy to EQ them, I know, but hey, not everyone likes flat bass.
Not too bad, but at the end of the day it’s traditional electrostatics I would be careful with that
Can you also do a review of the Hifiman Jade II as I'm interested in entering the electrostatic world.
Jade two is out, I will grab it yes
Great review, looking forward to the bake-off. Just one question, do any of the big three distort at the higher volumes?
I have tested up to 90 DB and no problems whatsoever beyond that my hearing can’t endure it LOL. I listen at 70 to 80 dB most of the time
80% of my listening residing, 70 and below
New sub to the channel here, question on one of the characteristics you talked about. On the crazy soundstage you described, was this specifically on the setup you used for the video or did the Hifiman energizer provide a similar soundstage experience? How do they compare?
It is a characteristics of the Headphones, probably even bigger on the Hifiman energiser
Welcome to the fam ❤️🐅
@@ConvinceMeAudioThanks for the reply! These definitely would be the dream headphones for me if I could ever afford it. Since my main goal is soundstage and imaging as I mainly would use them for gaming, I’m currently looking within the $100 - $400 price range for something that fills that purpose while still being a big upgrade in clarity and musical enjoyment. Currently Im using the Sennheiser HD599, looking at the Hifiman Edition XS as an upgrade. Do you have any recommendations?
Had you heard the electrostat amps like Blue hawaii or any from Woo Audio? I’m trying to figure out which would be the best for this headphone. and just to clarify, the lta Z10e is your favorite amp pairing with these of those you have heard?
@@BrentLeVasseur blue Hawaii SES more than once, I kind of liked it actually. I prefer LTA though, and I’ve heard the big boy unit from Hifiman as well quite a few times, including their junior.
I have also heard pretty much all the stacks ones
@@ConvinceMeAudioThanks! I’m trying to figure out how I can justify getting these, and $50k with amp is out of my ballpark, but $18k + a more “affordable” amp like the $8k Z10e is probably doable. 😂
@@BrentLeVasseur do not pay 18 KLOL mate speak to dealers shop around you might be able to grab it for 1112, plus LTA Z 10 E is about 5500 shop around,
@@ConvinceMeAudioThanks! Do you have any recommendations for a USA dealer?
@@BrentLeVasseur ideal directly with manufacturers for reviews personally, but I think people use THX for that unit if I’m not mistaken
Might have to shop around, mate
Great review Koji. I heard the HE1 for a couple of hours last week and it was a special experience. I'm also going to be listening to the Aperio at Harrods next weekend. How long did they give you to listen to them there? As I didn't ask when making the appointment.
The aperio scenario is different for me, obviously because I reviewed the unit and then I had one here at the studio for 6 months
at Harrods because I was filming I was there for four hours
But I believe you should have half an hour to an hour, depending on how busy they are, and to be fair, the three or four times I’ve gone up there to film, it’s been dead quiet
I think you’re going to get enough time genuinely just make sure when you go prior tell them to leave the unit on for about an hour
@ConvinceMeAudio thanks for the response. I'm going next Sunday, no sure what day you went but it may be busier in the weekend but you do have to book an appointment to listen to them so hopefully I get a couple of hours and I will email Caudel who runs the department to have the unit on for an hour before I arrive.
Have you tried a different DAC with LTA Z10e? I am considering Holo Audio May and Z10e for the Shangri La.
I sold them awhile ago now, and used waveddream but now I’ve been using lampizator
Exponentially boosting LTA performance I can’t go back
@@ConvinceMeAudio Thank you for your reply! You sold the Shangri La? Did you prefer another pair of headphones over them?
@@Jingyih it was a review unit from hifiman
But will be picking it up at some point. I think the channel gets too much equipment revolving through the door. It’s very difficult to keep a sustain system LOL I’ve gone back to SUS ab1266 lcd5 and DCA stealth because of lampizator and aic10 riviera
Can we say that the Shang Sr. are the objective king of detail of any headphones ever?
Not only detail, but transparency and stage two, yes, without a doubt
@@ConvinceMeAudio Is it too bright for genres like heavy metal?
@@andreaaaaaaa574 depending on the energiser and DAC you use, I would not go as far as to say, overly bright, but it definitely is not designed for that genre not by a longshot
Heavily leaning into classical live score, it’s a tremendous headphone you might enjoy it, but metal is never really mastered very well or it’s just a bit too much. It’s just too wide to specifically big for metal
I think you will enjoy the experience at first and then come to regret it if that is the only genre you’re into it’s not really made for that
I’ll be honest with you I used to watch The Voice on UA-cam on it on a regular basis LOL it does things very well it’s just too much money to tie up in one specific genre like metal if that’s your joy I recommend many other better headphones for that
@@ConvinceMeAudio I understand, but if I used a warm DAC and a warm amp maybe the listening would be pleasant, in any case mine was just a curiosity :)
probably the best high end headphones for metal are the 1266
@@andreaaaaaaa574 hmmm maybe the viva energiser and the DCs Racine Apex could create freaking magic
How good is it with solo piano?
I found it to be gorgeous, it just depends how well it’s recorded
Because it’s going to show absolutely everything about the recording
Any chance you'll do a giveaway ha
😃
Paleface, Fear and Dagger album = new Pantera. Their production is off the charts for heavy metal (beatdown genre). Highly recommend.
I will have a look actually in a moment 🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅 I genuinely appreciate when people put new music in the comment section, but it doesn’t happen often.
thanks dude, you are my favorite reviewer out there. Your musical/artistic video presentation of the product is great. A person sees you and just knows you love music@@ConvinceMeAudio

SHANG SR......... Okay ill just get out of the way lmaoooo

Endgame for most mortals…
most anticlimactic headphones I tried at canjam...the fact that I tried them next to the stax srx9000 which , to my ears, sounded immensely better than the Shangri-la and a hell of a lot cheaper...makes me wonder if I'll also be disappointed if I ever get the opportunity to hear the he-1
X 9000 review will drop in a couple of weeks, I would be hesitantly reserved with your impressions until you get a third and a fourth listen on different equipment
First, listen to me was horrific, second listen, was better on blue Hawaii SE, third listen was nice, obviously this set up has been the best I’ve heard it on at the studio
Extraordinarily synergy dependent and DAC dependent unfortunately like SUS but more extreme
I had literally the opposite opinion. I thought the x9000 was massively overrated and the Sr was in another level in terms of its clarity and detail. The x9000 just seemed like a worse susvara in every way except it was slightly faster.
@@En_Joshi-Godrez yes, me and you agree, X 9000 is beautifully toned, but absolutely no base response all over the place
Very small stage and sounds like a traditional headphone with decent details
Shang Senior on a proper set up, is kind of mental 😀 X 9000 is not a bad headphone just in comparison
@@ConvinceMeAudio which is funny as I thought the Shangri-la has no bass response whatsoever and that the stax had a nice bit of slam to them...for electrostats...it kinda reminded me of when I tried the Stealths... technically (like the Shangri-la) they're excellent but they didn't excite me in any way and they both felt sterile to my ears ...funnily enough I went from the stealth, I then tried the liric..loved them so much that i ended up buying them and I'm a happy man for doing so 👍
@@sameermana2003 the first time I heard Shangri-La senior, there was absolutely no bass and shrill as hell,
I think I hated life LOL
But genuinely on the LTA,Z 10 E and Aperio DAC or waved dream, it’s been incredible
I think it was blue Hawaii SE, that showed me it has potential for absolute insanity
I think it’s the synergy, you have to build the right system for it
Most importantly, it’s not for every genre, especially metal and electronic. I would avoid those.
This review was like watching p...n!
PN?
Just when I thought I was crazy for seriously considering the Susvara ot Stax SR-X9000.
They all of a sudden look like a bargain in comparison.😆
Sadly, the best chains for SUS rival, some of these
Aic10 lampizator
But fortunately, with SUS you don’t have to LOL
@ConvinceMeAudio I'm probably gonna snag a Susvara in the next 3 months or so. Either that or the Stax.
I'm thinking a more moderately priced option would be the Violectric V550 or V590. Pro or standard.
I'd be super interested in your thoughts on that amp, not sure if you would be able to get that amp into review. I think a lot of people would love a really nice anologe class A amp for a Susvara that is not break the bank territory.
As if a $10,000+ combo is cheap.😆
