Glad I watched this before applying to be on the show. This is very helpful and let me know to wait until I can afford to cover the expenses, to apply. Thank you for being honest about all of that!
I am soooooooo glad I made it on in 2018 before Covid. I got to stay for the Sony rate and take the shuttle to the studio. The only downside was I drew the last show and I was worried about being too tired after five other shows. But I won the game included a trip to Italy which I wanted.
Wow that sounds amazing. Yea, I wish I would have had the opportunity to have the full experience, but I am still so thankful I got to be on the show at all.
@@ShannonFord Thanks! Wheel Of Fortune is My Favorite Show as well, and Thank You for the Information and Tips on how to become a Good Contestant! Season 40, (The Current One) is an amazing Milestone!
Sounds like an amazing experience - thanks for sharing! I too have been trying to get on the show for a few years now, and this past February I actually landed a virtual audition. Sadly, I didn’t get past the “getting to know you” stage, so I didn’t get to play the toss-ups. As I’m trying to land another audition, I have one question: I learned that WOF receives about a million contestant applications per year, which is why chances of getting on the show are extremely low. How many applications did you have to fill out before you landed your virtual audition, and how often should you do them - all at once or one every few months?
@@ShannonFord Oh yeah, right - I was so excited to ask my question I forgot about that part. Boston had a casting call back in 2016, which was fun but I didn't get picked to go up on stage. There were just too many people, and I could only fill out so many ballots. Well, it's great you got to be on the show!
This sounds very helpful! Follow up on the Prize question, Are there cash options as opposed to taking the Vacation or Car? If not, are you required to pay the taxes up front for cars before you canb take it home, or could it be deducted from your winnings?
No cash option for prizes, but you have 45 days to decline them. I’m not sure about the taxes though. I know CA tax was taken out of my cash prize, so it’s possible.
Question: As a contestant, were you required to provide proof of up-to-date vaccination? Or were you only required to provide negative COVID tests? (as described in video 11:20)
Very well informative video, Thank You! I do have one question, when you rented the car and drove to the studio, was there parking for your rental car or was it hard to find parking? Thank You
Very easy. But keep in mind this was 2021, so there was not much in production. However, you have to be there so early, I don’t think it would be an issue.
I was thinking of auditioning with a friend. All I can find is the regular application to be a contestant. What are the differences for the audition process when you audition with somebody else (like when they do "best friends week", etc. I don't know how much you are familiar with. But what are the similarities/differences for the process in that situation compared to going on by yourself?? Do you know anything about how to find the online application for "best friends week" or auditioning with somebody else???
You just audition together. I did a live audition and there were a few people auditioning as pairs and they just did everything together. Otherwise, everything was the same.
I got an email saying I got selected to be a virtual contestant and to sign up for a date to do it. Can you explain a little bit about this part of the whole audition process and how you prepared for it? Thanks
I didn’t do the virtual audition because I went to a physical audition in 2019. But the same applies. It will be via zoom. Be energetic, speak clearly. My advice is if you feel like a dork with your energy and enthusiasm, you are doing great. They want people who are entertaining to watch
No it’s not. Watch my vlog on my experience. I ended up randomly picking up 2 other contestants because they had been waiting for over 30 minutes for an Uber.
This was absolutely awesome! Thank you! We are interviewing for WOF virtually in a few hours!
Good luck! Be animated! Act very excited. They want their contestants to be fun and engaging!
@@ShannonFord Thank you! I did my best to follow your advice!

Thank you for all your info! I applied yesterday and got an email I was accepted for a zoom interview today!!
That’s awesome! Good luck. Just be very animated. They like people with energy and speak with confidence.

@@ShannonFord Would Wheel Of Fortune Accept my Audition? I only ask because I Filled Out my Online Application on my Tablet rather than a Computer.
@@christucker4086 I don’t think that has anything to do with it.

I only tried once when they came to my city. My audition was in person.

On Home Sweet Home weeks in 2021-22, should a player win a Home in the BR but declines it, its alternate prize is $150,000 cash…

I can’t remember. I know testing because we were tested there. I don’t think they required vaccination anymore though.

You get your airdate when you film. Mine was 7 weeks. There was someone whose date was 7 months out

Did you get selected for the show after doing your virtual interview? how did it go?
Hi there, congrats! Do they do hair and makeup for you?
Yes, more touch ups but they do have a full staff
The hotel that they suggest, is it within walking distance? I can't drive.

🥰😍❤🧡💜
Do they allow family members in the audience and if so how many?
They do now, but I am not sure how many. When I filmed, there was no audience. I think it's 4 though.
Good info but it's proNUNciation. I cringed hearing pronunciation.
