- Gas gauge not working? In this video I show you how to diagnose and replace the level sensor inside the gas tank. I replace the level sensor on this 2001 Jeep Cherokee but the same process can be applied to almost every vehicle out there. Wow!! That is the first time that I have seen that one.I cant even begin to think of WHY that would be in there....lol....
I can't believe that was in the tank! I mean, did it fall in the tank and they couldn't figure out how to get it out? lol! blow my mind!
I can. Some lazy repair man had trouble pulling it out on the first replacement & said “nah, they’ll never even notice, screw it, I’ll leave it there”.
I could that happening. Some mechanics don’t give a damn about other peoples vehicles

Damn, this was a great video. TWO fuel pumps for the price of one!!! learned how to syphon gas AND what resistance to test for and test the system to make sure everything else works. You're my hero today!

That is shear crazy! I had to cut the j hooks on mine since they were too rusted. The replacement bolts are about $30 ea so I got turnbuckles from ACE for $5.50 ea

Great vid, thanks. I bet installing fuel pumps from the factory is automated, and the machine just pumped two in there! I just bought my XJ a few weeks ago and fuel gauge/sending unit took a dump.

Haha Jon Hart. I have no idea how this would happen lol!! Whoever put it in there had to force the flange of the fuel pump module through the hole in the tank. Maybe it was push in by accident and they couldn’t get it out? I have no idea haha

I'm going to be replacing mine soon since my gas gauge is either not working or gives me inaccurate info. Is the pump still working? Heard the quality is not good and doesn't last long.

Gas gauge electric motor can be damage,, plastic guage is broken from down under small plastic holder, another thing is the copper bents brakes on hardness fuel pump connection ,,, the computer on the top of roof interior needs replacement if it reads o mileage til empty last n least bcm ,wires bent crack,,

When your gas gauge didn’t work, how many miles could you go on a full tank not knowing how much gas you had?
I would do about 175 miles to a tank
