Friend of mine in the Seattle area bought an 91 Accord a couple weeks back, had it stolen literally two days after he bought it. He was planning to install a killswitch the next day. Old Hondas are big targets right now, don't wait to secure it.
It's up to you what you want to do with it but I'd suggest keeping it as stock as possible, maybe flip it or make it a sleeper. This is a nice find man
These Honda hatchbacks are really neat looking cars. If i were to get one i would leave it stock just the way it is "lame i know" but doing the necessary mods and replacement parts if needed.
@@AJ-vj3es With this level of mold, I'd want to be sure to use some kind of disinfectant with a carpet extractor and extract the majority of the spores that way so that they do not become airborne. The massage gun trick is cool though, I use it for beach sand all the time as a professional detailer.
@@AJ-vj3es if it wasn’t this dirty I could consider it, but my 62,000 G37 From auction was clean but I still had to take out the seats because of all the crud under the seats and to shampoo and vacuum out the carpet with the extractor completely. take the carpet out too its very easy on these civics and mold will hide under it and an extractor wont get it. the mold WILL come back. get an ozone machine too it helps, I also would just remove the dash completely and make sure theres no mold.
It's crazy how durable these are, we won't see that again with the new car being so complicated and filled with electronics. I would keep it stock and use the k swap kit for a more clapped out civic. Just discovered this channel and i'm subscribing to see what's next!
HOLY smokes you scored harder than Beavis & Butthead ever did haha! What a diamond in the rough! Personally, I LOVE the stock look on the Honda. Stock cars are worth just as much as the modded ones, especially JDM classics. Love to see more of this! It's love at first crank!

My first car was a 96 four-door Honda Civic DX. It had power steering but no AC. I put a tack up in the gauge cluster. Paid $300 for it drove it for 2 years, was driving down the road at 45 and kaboom it blew up. Later that day a report of an unidentified flying object was caught on radar.
Exactly a year ago I bought a black, sun faded, 97 EK hatch, bone stock, no rust, just like yours from an auction. The water pump runs off the timing belt and it went bad, this causes the timing to jump and 4 of the 8 exhaust valves to hit. I took the head off, replaced them, and been driving since. I had lost my passion for cars over the years (life sucks sometimes) but this car brought me back. It almost saved me in other words. I got so excited when I saw this, congratulations, you are going to have some fun... oh yeah best part, out the door from auction 800 dollars
Honestly, if I were you, I'd clean it up completely, keep it stock, and store it. 50 years from now, a completely stock civic in mint condition would be extremely rare and probably worth a lot. People rarely thing what an "average" car will be worth in the future. Especially models that are so rare already to find stock.
As a car enthusiasts I want to be like you, I have seen many youtubers who has much expensive cars to work with. This is what I want start from and will make my way up to thanks for your work keep doing it.😊❤
The 96-98 hoods are different than the 99-00 hoods. I found that out the hard way. The difference is pretty subtle but once you install the wrong one it becomes pretty evident that the front end is not the same. That being said coupe, hatch and sedan hoods are all the same (unlike ef or eg civics)
Feel glad, This is the only time I’ve gone from a short to the full video when asked/told to do so (To be fair… I’m one guy and you have many to watch you, but you gained another lol)
