You don't just listen Joe Bonamssa play the Blues ... you " Feel' Joe Bonamssa playing the Blues down deep in your soul, and it's mesmerizing to watch and listen!❤
So glad you discovered Joe Bonamassa - I suggest you do a vid on him singing "Drive" and "I'll Play the Blues for You"...and many more of his great performances.
I am so glad you loved this!! Joe is an American blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He began playing guitar at age 4 and started his career at age twelve, when he opened for B.B. King.
As a musician, you have to be able to pour your passions into your instrument of choice. You have to bare your soul for all to see, for without that, you will just be playing the notes on a piece of sheet music and they will be flat to the ear. My personal definition of music is "The ability to paint emotion in sound." Years ago, I used to play the drums and my young son wanted me to teach him so I did. At first, it was just a sad collection of beats. There was no finesse at all, just repetitious banging. More than once I tried to explain how you must "Feel" the music and put your emotions into it. One evening, after about 6 months of pounding, I was washing the dishes and there was a very subtle change in what I could hear. He played for around another 1/2 hour and it just kept improving with every minute. When he came up from the basement he told me, "Hey Dad, I think I'm starting to understand that "Feel Thing" you keep talking about." I asked him what it felt like. He just shrugged and then he said, "It feels like I am part of the music." I told him he was on the right track and to keep at it. A year later his little band, a threesome with two guitar players, won a battle of the bands against four other bands, all of whom were adults. They played in a bar and had to leave when they were not playing but were brought back in for an encore. The following day their success was noted in the local City newspaper and he was given additional attention in the article for his musicianship. They had trouble believing he was just a kid. I was a pretty proud Dad and my son was brimming with confidence. He was 14 years old at the time..........
I have tickets to see his this coming Tuesday November 26th. I'm really looking forward to it. The best part is that the venue is only 10 minutes away from my house.
Oh wow you'll sure have much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving Day. I bet seeing him perform has long been on your list of things to do so you can leave our earth with a huge smile on your face. I'm a little (a lot) jealous. Yayyyyy for you !! ❤😊❤😊
This will be my third time seeing Joe. The first time was many years ago when he was relatively unknown outside of the blues/musician community. He was a very young man and he and his band played at a local bar. Back then it was pretty evident that he was something special. He played more blues, similar to this song, back then; whereas today he also loves to 'rock the house' as seem in the live video of Just Got Paid. The second time was at the venue I will be seeing him at on Tuesday. His band was compromised of the same players on this video. It was also his 35th birthday that night which was kinda special.
