@helenbestman5338: If it did her dirty it was in her home country alone because it didn't accept her transition to a more R&B sound in the late 90's...that's how american radio and labels played back in the day...
I haven't heard this song since i was a kid maybe 12 or 13, a true classic. Many years ago, man Cece's voice is insane, so underrated. Power, range and it's dynamic, man she singing this. Great childhood memories to this song. She so fine, then and now.

@ 21 yrs old an amazing vocal range, I wonder was Chaka Khan an influence for her, I can hear it in certain inflections, and love her ad libs & range, as a pro DJ, Penniston's choons still fly today, outlasted the haters & referred to as classic, caught her touring in the 90s at an industry craft show which was a nice surprise

I Feel like there was less pressure on artists back then, and they enjoyed the moments more because TV wasn't constantly recorded and played back the next day all over the entire world if you messed up or had a bad outfit on. So celebrities were more genuine. 💯😇🫶💙
