Settlement Gamer Hell yeah it is! My recommendation is to stay as spoiler-free as you can before you play the Definitive Edition for yourself in May. I watched a playthrough way before I had the game, so I "spoiled" myself for Xenoblade 1, but I managed to stay blind for the entirety of Xenoblade 2 and it was so worth it. Honestly, both Xenoblade 1 & 2 are amazing games (I haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles X so I don't know much about it). If you're a fan of JRPGs, then you'll probably love the series. And don't even get me started on the music.
Xenoblade Chronicles is an amazing game, the Definitive Edition is definitely worth picking up. The game really pushed the Wii to its limits with the game's scale, to the point it had to look like a PS2 game to make it all fit and run. You are in for an amazing experience.
I love how within all of these electronic sounds and instruments, there's still a violin making a hopeful melody - representing Shulk and co with the hope of stopping Egil's plans

This song is the instrumental equivalent to "Born in a world of strife, against the odds, we choose to fight! BLOSSOM DANCE." And 1:50 onwards is the instrumental equivalent to "You're not invincible, Monado Enchant!"
From the mechonis sword onwards, the mechonis areas were just such a joy to experience, and this battle theme epitomises what the party are feeling. Finally after years of living in fear for their lives, attacks from the mechon and people being kidnapped and slaughtered, a group of homs are taking the fight back to the mechon, full steam ahead without holding back.

Which means yeah, real instruments are being used, but the compression makes it sound otherwise.
I'm pretty sure they used quite a lot of real electric guitars / drums (at least that what I'm hearing in this track), but I'm surprised that the MIDI strings don't detract to its intensity.

"Time to Fight" was the warm up, while "Mechanical Rhythm" was your POWER-LEVELING MUSIC. This is where you wanted to keep chaining enemies for hours on end, then you run out of enemies...
Mechanical rhythm needs more love, I always hear people talk about how good Guar plain is or Tephra cave or other songs but this one is my genuine favorite.

I will admit that I'm in denial. I didn't want to like this song. I don't know why, but there was nothing really wrong with it. The opening somehow didn't pique my interest, and the sheer popularity of the song made me not want to give it a chance... but then I actually listened to it. I absolutely loved it, but my stubbornness tried to suppress those emotions. Unfortunately, those emotions were too strong, because this song is phenomenal. I have no idea how I completely disregarded the build-up before. It's easily one of the best build-ups to any chorus I've ever heard. It's incredibly fast paced, intense, and catchy, with extra emphasis on all 3. This part alone is phenomenal, being one of the best hard rock songs I've ever heard, but the song gets better in every way. This soundtrack has a tendency to mix classical instruments in with newer rick instruments, and there's no better example of that than here, where that phenomenal violin plays an infectiously catchy melody, with an equally phenomenal electric guitar continuing later, in the process amplifying every emotion the build-up had and injecting an incredibly sense of emotion into it on top of that. Special mentions go out to the drum kit. It phenomenally holds the song together, as well as amplifies the intensity even further. I still can't believe a song like this is in a video game, that's how good it is.
Yeah, the fluidity and sometimes easiness of the battle system, makes most battles no go on long enough to hear the best parts of this song, compared with Time To Fight, this is a better song as whole, but the buildup takes the way from the experience as that’s about all you hear in the game, while Time To Fight just starts up immediately.
Not a big fan of Xenoblade, but EPIC metal theme! Favorite parts: 0:00 - 1:13 0:41 - 1:22 1:23 - 1:48 1:51 - 2:25 everything after that is pretty cool, imo

A lot of the instruments that they used were real, however they had to do some compression because this was the Wii we're talking about

Yeah, the fluidity and sometimes easiness of the battle system, makes most battles no go on long enough to hear the best parts of this song, compared with Time To Fight, this is a better song as whole, but the buildup takes the way from the experience as that’s about all you hear in the game, while Time To Fight just starts up immediately.
Not a big fan of Xenoblade, but EPIC metal theme!
