What I think really sells this moment is how Shulk reacts. Up to this point he’s been mostly calm and collected. But in this scene he has a full emotional outburst filled with fear, anger, despair, and hatred. It all mixes perfectly with the music and the actual death of fiora to make a truly godly end to the first part of the game.

@Chaos Leviatho OH, that's right. I forgot he said that. Chuggaa's Xenoblade LP was a legendary experience. He almost died during it, so there's that. Very commendable of Emile to stick it out through the 115 episodes and 2 years of planning it took to bring the experience to life

Xenoblade has one of the best soundtrack/pieces of music ever made in history. This music broke the boundaries and is one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time.
“I’LL KILL YOUUUUU” “A new symbol’s appeared on the Monado. Can I save her?” “I swear I won’t stop until I’ve scrapped each and every one of you!” “I know only too well that desire for revenge.” “Give us back Fiora! GIVE HER BACK!” “I will strike you down and all that you have become, you wretched fool!” “Face Mechon are not like the others!” “The Homs are nothing but bacteria, clinging to my body!” “Riki know Shulk brave! Riki want to see the old Shulk! Shulk is real Heropon!”
I agree. In fact, there was one time when I was watching Chuggaaconroy's LP, and I was home alone and so into it that I literally screamed Shulk's line along with him.
Newcomer here, but i do believe this is my favorite theme so far. Very emotional, and i just cant but help to think of other iconic scenes from different franchises where this would fit.
"I'LL KILL YOU" is such a quotable line that my friends and I have said it 157 times in the past month via text That doesn't even count the amount of times we've spammed the soundboard
"I hate him Dunban, for what he did to Fiora and the emperor, so of course I want to get my revenge...! ...but ...Face Mechon are not like the others, they're people, like us! Are you really willing to kill another Homs!?" "Yes! Sometimes needs must!" "Even if it's *Fiora!? What then!?* When we set out I wanted to destroy all Mechon, *that* was my aim! But now...! I know there are people inside! I have to know *why!?* What's the reason for all of this!?" There's really a lot of times XC goes hard, but this specific bit really hits the hardest for me. This exchange is just fantastic.
That’s probably my favorite scene in which this song plays for 2 reasons: 1)It holds so much weight, especially considering how much of an asshole Mumkhar is shown to be up to that point, yet Shulk still feels differently. 2)It’s one of only a few scenes in which the song plays all the way through, along with the first visit to Prison Island, the duel at Valak Mountain between Dunban and Mumkhar, the duel of gods between Zanza and Meyneth at Mechonis Core, and between phases against Dickson during the revisit to Prison Island. In all the other scenes with this song, it either gets cut off or transitions into the fight.
This song, together with the first cutscene it plays on, is what made me think this game was something special. First time entering Gaur plains is what confirmed it.
This song has one of the best sotry tellings of the game, at first you engage the enemy, and the guitar creates tension, the piano then takes the stage and represents the ideals for which you are fighting, then the battle really begins and the violins represent the way you approach with little success, then a voice, representing destiny, arises and it frightens you for it signifies this is where you die, the enemy is too much for you, and then when you start really losing your grip until a soft piano reminds you of what you must do, and you decide destiny is not written, that voice no longer frightens you, it empowers you. Destiny can be bent. And then you fight on 'till the end.
“I’LL KILL YOU!!!” “Can I... save them?” “Of course you can.” “I swear I won’t stop, until I’ve scrapped EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!” “I know all too well that desire for revenge, and the pain of losing those close to you. This monster is going down!” “I am now a mere shell. The power... is already yours. Think of your enemy, and the power to defeat them is yours!” “I will strike you down and all that you have become, you wretched fool. The monado will stop you. And then you will know the shame of all that you have done, TRAITOR!” “Would you really be willing to kill another Homs?!” “Yes, sometimes needs must!” “...Even if it’s Fiora?” “And who decides that? A GOD. Because ONLY A GOD MAY DECIDE. MAY YOU ROT IN THAT SHELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!” “Shulk, true power... comes from within! Believe in your own true strength, Shulk!”
This game has plenty of very great OSTs, especially this one, which actually became one of my favorite JRPG OSTs. But there are several OSTs that sucks too here. Yet the OST placements in this game is not that good, and 70% of the time you hear the OST where you got aggro-ed by the enemy and Monado changing the future during battle, and these two are my most unfavorable ost in this game. At least Mechonis's battle theme rocks, but is still pretty much being overshadowed by the BGM where the enemy aggros you.
Engage the enemy is definitely one of my most favorite tracks in Xenoblade Chronicles. I like how this track is used in situations where the party seems to have no hope of winning but failure is not an option and they will keep fighting until the very end.
+Babo This is bullpoop, so much cencoring, I'm tired of this poop, it's a poopy way of saying things. Poopy poop poop! I'm so angry at this poop! P.S. that was a joke, I approve of your cencoring good sir/ma'am.

I like how similar parts of this song are to Counterattack from XC2. Playing this after I played XC2 and realizing the references and inspirations is just amazing.
Goodness this song seems to fit every EXTREMELY tense scene ANYWHERE. Best picks I've seen so far is the moments just before Titanic has her fatal impact or the runaway James during the Adventure begins. The latter fits EXTREMELY well like... This song is a MASTERPIECE.
I’ve just reached the halfway point in the 3ds version and I have no problem playing it all over again on switch! Absolutely incredible game! Amazing story! Superb voice acting (especially from shulk) and ABSOLUTELY GOD-TIER MUSIC!
I came across this song through the Xenoblade stage in Smash 4 and thought it was so beautiful that I listened to it a LOT during school. I'm talking almost on the daily for a hot minute. I don't have a single clue about the context for it in Xenoblade but damn is it a good song.
Bruh pick up Xenoblade DE, the og soundtrack can be chosen in the settings which this plays in. There's so many hidden gems in that game, the ost is definitely my personal number one.

"I hate him Dunban, for what he did to Fiora and the emperor, so of course I want to get my revenge...! ...but ...Face Mechon are not like the others, they're people, like us! Are you really willing to kill another Homs!?"
"Yes! Sometimes needs must!"
"Even if it's *Fiora!? What then!?* When we set out I wanted to destroy all Mechon, *that* was my aim! But now...! I know there are people inside! I have to know *why!?* What's the reason for all of this!?"
There's really a lot of times XC goes hard, but this specific bit really hits the hardest for me. This exchange is just fantastic.
That's what I love about this game. The complex themes, the growth beyond revenge, all of it.
God I wish people understood why Shulk said this more often. Top 10 moments in xenoblade 1
That’s probably my favorite scene in which this song plays for 2 reasons:
1)It holds so much weight, especially considering how much of an asshole Mumkhar is shown to be up to that point, yet Shulk still feels differently.
This sounded sooooo good in the trailer I can't wait
2:01 gets me every time.
3:00 is the detention of amazing
Happy 20th anniversary Monolith Soft!
Engage the Dislikers
2:00 I can never not see Metal Face advancing on Fiora while tossing away the mobile artillery cannon like it's nothing
"Reyn! Sharla! We are homs. And we won't just stand there, waiting to be eaten!!!"
This brings me so many memories... what a beautiful game, can't wait for the remastered version!
“I’LL KILL YOU!!!”
“Can I... save them?” “Of course you can.”
“I swear I won’t stop, until I’ve scrapped EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!”
“I know all too well that desire for revenge, and the pain of losing those close to you. This monster is going down!”
“I am now a mere shell. The power... is already yours. Think of your enemy, and the power to defeat them is yours!”
“I will strike you down and all that you have become, you wretched fool. The monado will stop you. And then you will know the shame of all that you have done, TRAITOR!”
“Would you really be willing to kill another Homs?!” “Yes, sometimes needs must!” “...Even if it’s Fiora?”
“And who decides that? A GOD. Because ONLY A GOD MAY DECIDE. MAY YOU ROT IN THAT SHELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!”
“Shulk, true power... comes from within! Believe in your own true strength, Shulk!”
I feel all of these quotes
I could each certain voice saying the quotes
@@SneakyShadow10 engage the enemy didn't play in that scene, these quotes are all from scenes where it played
oh hey kekkkys
Can we all just agree that this game has a perfect soundtrack?!
No I can’t bc bionis interior exists
This game has plenty of very great OSTs, especially this one, which actually became one of my favorite JRPG OSTs.
But there are several OSTs that sucks too here.
Yet the OST placements in this game is not that good, and 70% of the time you hear the OST where you got aggro-ed by the enemy and Monado changing the future during battle, and these two are my most unfavorable ost in this game.
At least Mechonis's battle theme rocks, but is still pretty much being overshadowed by the BGM where the enemy aggros you.
Its literally the ultra instinct theme but less meme and more good and no ui melody lol
50% of the comments: i love this music
The other 50% of the comments: I SWEAR I WON’T STOP UNTIL I HAVE SCRAPPED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!
Understandable that line goes hard
一生耳から離れない
This is the strongest song ever built. Composed by me, ACE+. Arranger of Xenoblade Chronicles and agent of Monolith Soft.
Arranger of Xenoblade Chronicles? So your the one who composes the music!
I am they
I thought ACE+ was a group

Engage the enemy is definitely one of my most favorite tracks in Xenoblade Chronicles. I like how this track is used in situations where the party seems to have no hope of winning but failure is not an option and they will keep fighting until the very end.
You know poop is gonna hit the fan when this starts playing
It's still beautiful though
+Babo Poop will go down real fast.
The world will feel like a living hell.
I feel your pain.
R.I.P Gadolt.
+Babo This is bullpoop, so much cencoring, I'm tired of this poop, it's a poopy way of saying things.
Poopy poop poop! I'm so angry at this poop!
P.S. that was a joke, I approve of your cencoring good sir/ma'am.
Anyone up for poopake?
well shit
Cyber Dragon BOI!
I’m kidding.
A amazing ost for a amazing game
+SharkyWillzy Think This is great play the 'Sequel' :P Not as good, but still brilliant
+SharkyWillzy that is true and i am playing it on my new 3ds xl
+Ankh Phoenix Xenoblade Chronicles definitively better than Xeno X.
Oh big time! I think X has only one thing going better then the original, Gameplay. other then that, Story, Characters, etc. Everything else the original's got better.
Hatake Kakashi when i played this game i was 12 XD im a child of culture
The track is literally instant drama music in a good way!
I like how similar parts of this song are to Counterattack from XC2. Playing this after I played XC2 and realizing the references and inspirations is just amazing.
Yeah, Counterattack is basically the Engage the enemy of XC2, but less sad
Goodness this song seems to fit every EXTREMELY tense scene ANYWHERE. Best picks I've seen so far is the moments just before Titanic has her fatal impact or the runaway James during the Adventure begins. The latter fits EXTREMELY well like... This song is a MASTERPIECE.
Every time I hear this song, it always makes me emotional.
Who’s here after the Xenoblade Chronicles DE trailer? 👏💪👌
HYPE HYPE HYPE
we finally get to see Melia cry
Fiora bout to die again LOL
It’s so cool seeing how many other people came here after the direct. SO HYPED FOR DE!!
Im here 27 days away from the game's release
You all know why you're here
I’ve just reached the halfway point in the 3ds version and I have no problem playing it all over again on switch! Absolutely incredible game! Amazing story! Superb voice acting (especially from shulk) and ABSOLUTELY GOD-TIER MUSIC!
Boy, you are not ready for whats coming near the endgame.
what do you think of it right now???
So hyped for the remix to this
Doesn't sound nearly as good as the original from the snippets shown
The remake's looking pretty great. I just can't wait for it!
"Something wrong? Is this the height of your skill? You call yourself a god? And you talk of sharing this world with ME?"
Play the game
@Ted Gonzalez It still slaps
Bro I'm just excited to see all these cutscenes in HD,just imagine this shit with all this great new lighting and animation
Well, time to play this game again in glorious high definition. One of the best of all time
2:50 SPOILERS FOR PRISON ISLAND BELOW
"Emperor...I...failed you."
"Heir to the monado..."
"Zanza?! You're alive! Give me...the power I need!"
"I am now a mere shell. The power is already yours."
"What?"
"The shackles have been broken. Wield the sword! It *bends* to your will. Think of your enemy, and the power to defeat them is yours!"
Love this quote, it’s so empowering
"Zanza.... Mechon...... It's not over. The people of Bionis will never let you Triumph!"
I actually prefer the original soundtrack than the DE one. I still have goosebumps when listening to it and almost makes me cry.
3:06-3:11 is the most beautiful harmony I’ve ever heard
So nostalgic I love this song
Before playing xenoblade: This song sounds so cool
After playing xenoblade: Oh.OH!
In just about any scene this song appears in, by the time it gets to the modulation to A minor, you're almost guaranteed to be crying.
One of the best soundtrack ever written in the video-game history!!!
Can’t wait to hear this again in the remake!
Xenoblade DE remake of this is amazing
the remastered version snippet sounds like this has gotten proper justice
Truly a sight to behold
2:00 You can hear a bit of Counterattack from XC 2
"Woah... Yankee w no brimm" 0:01
It’s crazy how different the XC DE version is, I’m honestly astonished and even more hyped for what they’ll do with the rest of the songs
VERY much memories!!!
