I think Halloween 6 was awesome, it was definitely the darkest and most atmospheric of the films along with RZ's H2 (which is also criminally underrated). I love that you edited BOTH cuts together because I been saying for years we need a DEFINITIVE cut of H666. I love the opening narration by LOOMIS (Pcut) but I love the Brother Cane song over the end credits (Tcut). I love the creepy Druid cult stuff (Pcut) but I loved the freaky strobe light massacre in the hospital that you mention (Tcut). Great review man.
That machete scene where he cleans house... Damn one of the best horror moments ever
+TheMoviePiggy90 Yeah and probably the most underrated moments in the series.
New subscriber here! Super glad to see someone else who digs Halloween 6 as much as I do! Easily my favorite Halloween franchise sequel. I 100% agree that every scene is full of atmosphere. Especially love the lightning showing Michael standing outside the window.
Thank you Isaac and welcome! Yes 6 has such a special place in my heart. I wish I could re-review it every year haha. Be sure to check out my #DrumdumsWatches episode that I did on 6. Link: ua-cam.com/video/jxBfxuaRSLg/v-deo.html
Here I sit done giving a bottle @2:42 am watching drumdums lol. Great revisited for Halloween 6. This movie has really gained a cult following over the past 5 or so years. A very underrated film that I grow fonder of every time I watch it. And those real leaves! Haha I can't wait for the new revisited Lee. Keep up the great work!
It really has, and gets better through the years. It really is timeless. Can't wait to finish up my new Revisited special. Congrats on your beautiful baby girl bro!
Just now catching this vid.
Gotta say man, the way you rank your films is awesome. Usually you got good taste. Keep up the work.
Halloween 6 is complete nostalgia for me. I watched this with my uncle when i was maybe 8 or 9. It was my introduction to this movie, and i loved how brutal and unstoppable Micheal was and how Donald Pleasants was the good to Michaels bad. Im still not a huge fan on the cult plot but i can enjoy the movie regardless because of the cinematography and atmosphere. The sense of dread that you feel when Micheal is marching after someone, you feel scared. As always love ur content, and cant wait to see more. Btw i found your channel through Cody Leach's videos. Glad i started watching!
I have so many fond moments of this movie.
this movie showed a more brutal and ruthless Michael
+Justin Reyna Yes ans that's one of the many things I love about it.
Justin Reyna really? I need to see that! But i don't think he's more insane the the Michael from the remake!
" everyone is a fan boy of something" so true
Especially today haha.
The H20 Myers is so bad. Love the Myers for 6 and 4. Just never understood how they never got the mask right. 6 is a bad movie whether it is the prod. Ir theatrical. It fell into Alien franchise mode where they just made the same film from Ridley Scott's film. I will say though 6 is better than any of the Rob Zombie films.
Yep. George P. Wilbur was a great Myers, what he lacked in physique, he more than made up for in creepiness.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how A. Michael Lerner played Michael Myers in all the additional photography, which was added into the theatrical cut. Lerner played such a great Michael and is never recognized, which reminds me of the Tom Morga situation from "Halloween 4". It's quite sad!
+Brandon Gregory Yeah I was just thinking about that the other day when watching 6 again. He was a great Michael...I really wish I had mentioned him. Thanks for pointing that out!
I'm more disappointed that the scriptwriter's original dream wasn't realised (CHRISTOPHER LEE AS DR. WYNN), but at least this movie has the scene where the granny talks about Halloween almost like Cochran in H3
I cried so much when I found out Donald died...him and Michael were Halloween. I really don't think Halloween would've been as great without him...He was a god among men..R.I.P. Donald Pleasance...
+Zach Pohlman Yeah DP was the best. I miss him so much.
+Drumdums Pleasance IS Halloween and some of these films were not worthy of this man but he was so professional and you know he cared about his character. A true actor's actor.
I remember reading somewhere that Daniel Ferrands said that the Halloween 6 that we got was vastly different than what he had originally written. One specific thing that I remember was that Dr. Loomis had a bigger role in the film. There is a lot more too that I don't quite remember though. It makes me sad that we'll never truly see just how great of a film this could have been. By the way, H6 is one of my favorite sequels :) Great review also.
John And Rob Jenkins Thanks man. I have a commentary of the Theatrical cut that Farrands recorded and he goes into depth about how vastly different the theatrical cut and P cut are from his original vision. Great stuff and thanks for watching!
You betcha :)
I was at the first screening of the Producers Cut to the public here in LA in 2013 before the Boxset was announced and Daniel Farrands talked about how Paul Rudd wanted to come and be part of the screening but was filming in NY. Halloween 6 is my favorite in the series besides the original of course.
That's awesome. Thank you for sharing that. I would love to have been at that screening. Thanks for watching.
Only seen this once 20 years back but really disliked it... really disliked them recasting Jamie and even more what they did to her. That pretty much turned me off straight away, I guess.
+codyw1 If you can get past that, I would definitely give it another shot, especially the theatrical. It's one of my faves.
Im glad i found someone else who loves Halloween 6, to me adding the thorn isn't stupid it's like making some defining sequel of the Halloween franchise. Honestly the only thing i like about the producers cut is the deaths, thorn explanation scene, and the ending. I kinda did like the guitar music of the theatrical version better.
I still remember watch 4-6 when I was a little kid and thinking wow I fucking love this series. Huge Myers fan, and Donald Pleasant Fan
Saw the producers cut like two years ago, and it made sense, the the theatrical version didn't feel right via the ending
+Ruben Morales Yeah 4 - 6 is such an underrated horror trilogy. I just love it so much. Thanks for watching Ruben!
+Drumdums nice man, halloween 6 is my favorite too=)
Sund Jeffrey Awesome man! Yeah 6 is so underrated. It's cool to see it finally getting some fans.
This is possibly my favorite of the original series, great slasher and I really liked explaining Michael and the movie as a whole has. Agood darker feel
Halloween 6 is what got me into the franchise. It’s my favourite and I agree with you, the cinematography is stunning 😎
im a big Halloween 6 fan myself. it was actually the first horror film i seen in the theater. also i like the theatrical cut better. the weird editing/sound effects give it a really dark, sinister vibe that i appreciated. i do prefer the very last scene of the producer's cut though.
well halloween 6 the producers cut is considered one of the best by fans
I have uncut and unedited producers cut Halloween 6 curse of Michael Myers and I bought Halloween 666 5 disk set Directors cut producers cut rough cut and theatrical cut and Tv edition
But it says Halloween 666 the Origin of Michael Myers the producers cut is diff then the producers cut of Halloween 6 the cure of Michael Myers
I mean don't get me wrong I the original Michael but in Halloween 6 he was a true force of nature
+Justin Reyna Hell yeah it was. Such an underrated entry!
DUDE!! You totally nailed that review
Thank you!
H6 is one of my favorites as well. I agree that there are parts of both that are great but I do love the theatrical ending better. I'd love to see your cut of the film!
great detailed review, are you excited about the new Halloween?? what are your thoughts on rob zombies' Halloweens?
Thank you. I actually love Zombie's Halloween II. I'm really looking forward to the new movie. Check out my Halloween series playlist for reviews on all the films. Thanks for watching!
Have you seen the directors cut of H6? Theatrical version with completely different music score. Cool channel BTW
+Lee Wilkins No but I've heard of that cut. I think it's on one of the bootleg versions.
+Drumdums its also a lot more gorier. If you would like a copy I can send you one :)
H6 is a great Halloween movie and a brilliant horror movie. It’s drips with atmosphere and is creepy as hell. Love it
I just saw the producers cut blu ray in wal mart for 7.50. I have 6 with the horror movie collection. I think this one has a better story in the producers cut but I havent seen in start to finish only youtube clips and comments. I am going to buy it after your review
+Nate Emond The Producer's Cut is definitely worth buying especially since it's such a different film than the theatrical cut, and has some great character moments that aren't in the Theatrical cut. The last act, however, is where it has problems. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching!
I think your right on with H 6 review I thought I have it at an almost deadlock with H 4 depending on my mood , I have H1, H2, H4 and 6 tied
Yeah it's so hard for me to pick which one is my favorite at times. I get in a hardcore 6 mood from time to time.
Own fan edit? I'd like to do that to h20. Slow down the scenes where Michael walks and add some badass music! That'd help it a lot.
I'd love a new edit of H20 with the Carpenter's score instead of Ottman's.
You should definitely post your fan edit. Please😂😂 combining the first hour of the producer's cut and the last half hour of the theatrical cut sounds like a really good idea😂
Copyright laws might come into play. Message me on Twitter. Here's my preferred method of viewing though:
- "And Fools Shine On" scene at college left in.
- Jamie's death is the theatrical cut version.
- Most, if not all of the kills are from the theatrical cut because I believe the score and tension are more effective.
- All the great character building moments from the Producer's cut are left in...any references to Jamie being alive for obvious reasons.
- Opening scene from Producer's cut.
- Final act is theatrical version.
Thanks! I don't have Twitter though:/ what about Instagram or Facebook?
AMMTheShape Myers Yeah Facebook is fine. Just search Drumdums on Facebook and send me a message through there.
Okay
This was the first Halloween movie I was old enough to see in theaters and at the time I thought it was the greatest since the original. If they had kept the Producer's Cut version but make a better ending I think this movie could be right behind the original as one of the best. It's sad there were way too many people involved, and just screwed this movie up
Yeah I think a combination of the 2 versions makes for a great Halloween film. I love this one immensely.
I'll probably have to watch it again sometime. I couldn't get myself to watch it again but If I had the producers cut I'd give it another chance.
Amazing review, I love the Halloween series also!
bowiefanT Thank you man. I really appreciate it. Also, Bowie rocks.
I agree with most of why u said. Good review! I def agree with what u said about enjoying first half
of the producers cut, but with the last act of the theatrical cut.
Thank you...and thanks for watching!
Until I started watching UA-cam reviews, I had no idea there was so much hate for Halloween 6. I’ve even seen people rank it lower than resurrection. Which is absurd. I really liked Halloween 6. I also love the music in the movie. The theme mixed with guitar riffs gave it such a bad ass, tense sound. I’m a fan of this movie. Don’t care what anyone says.
Agreed. There are people that really hate this movie.
You can see Michael's eyes in the scene where he kills the boyfriend in the bathroom.
Great review! Halloween (78) is my favorite movie of all time as well! I just love the originality and talent of John Carpenter. Halloween part 4 is my favorite Halloween sequel. Gave me nightmares.
I grew up in the late 80's/early 90's and had 2 older brother's and pretty much was always watching stuff i was probably too young to watch... :D I saw Halloween and Nightmare On Elm Street before i turned 10.
Me too man. I'm a child horror...growing up in the 80s. Yeah I noticed his eyes in that scene too. Michael is creepy as hell in this movie. Thanks for watching!
Myers has the power of thorn just like he made doors move and open with hos powers in the original film
Halloween 6 Producers Cut is the best film in the series and finally answered all those questions fans had
Fin Bluelor bih
Agree with the Thorn movies. Agree with Dr Loomis being So important. But I liked H20 Alot also and remember going to the movies to see it as a 21 year old and thinking it was Freakin Awesome.
I would have to disagree with your decision to endorse h6 but to each his own plus I have to agree with the majority of your reviews. The fact that your in shape, wear tight fan boy tees, and have a chill genuine personality makes every review enjoyable. Interesting side bit is I have a friend who is a very good friend of the director of H6. They always watch horror films in the theaters apparently.
+GrungemanBaby Wow thanks for the kind comment. I know 6 has a very mixed audience reaction. That might be part of the reason why I like it so much. I would love to hear what Joe Chappelle has to say about this experience.
Hmm yeah I hear you.
Am i the only one who actually enjoyed the rob zonbie remakes?
No you're not. I love the 2nd one. I can enjoy the first given its faults.
This movie is special to me because I was 15 when this movie came out and I watched it at the movies opening night and it was first halloween film I ever seen.
It was my 2nd in the theater. It was amazing.
Suprised you didn’t mention how this movie disgraced the character of Jamie Lloyd.
I finally got a chance to watch the theatrical version right before my trip to Montreal and I loved it. I'm glad I went back because the producers cut left a bad taste in my mouth. Like you said, having Myers controlled was a bad move.
Nocturnal Toothbrush Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. The theatrical cut just has a much better rhythm to it, and the score is better as well.
This was my 2nd Halloween movie in theatres , my 1st was H 4 back in 88, few years later I was about 19 years old and went with my GF at the time , I actually enjoy this movie it is one of my fav . I have it ranked higher then 2018 for many reasons the first reason is it feels way more like a Halloween movie. The shape finally resembled the shape I Rember thinking yes finally they made Myers look like Myers. Most of all the atmosphere is the #1 reason and I love the 90's song you know the one I mean. In my Halloween ranking I have this movie -4th behind Halloween 4.
I have a bootleg of the producers cut my wife got me in 2008 and it is still one of my favorite things
Damn you were spot on with how I feel about the movie. I love Curse of Michael Myers. My go to Halloween sequel!
Me too. I watch this one the most!
I Love Halloween 6, it had always been my favourite. I can remember the first time my parents showed it to me and it had always stuck with me.
It definitely leaves a mark haha. Thanks for watching!
There's also a Mrs.Blankenship in MAD MEN she's the best part in season four of the show just watched MAD MEN the beginning to the end it's really amazing. Okay honestly Lee I actually love the theatrical version let's face it John death awesome his head explode.
yeah can you imagine if they brought that Michael back to the big screen
+Justin Reyna I would welcome that in a heartbeat. He made the Michael in H20 look like a clown.
hopefully we get that Michael back
+Justin Reyna I would LOVE to have this version of Michael back. That would be insane!
Myers, Loomis, and the kills are the best things about H6, both cuts have pros and cons but overall not a good film either way
Also giving Myers a Druid origin while creative completely demystifies the original Myers which was so scary, an unpredictable, motiveless psychopath is way scarier than him being the pawn of a Druid cult. That being said still enjoy the film
Thid movie was visually stunning and had tons of great scenes (the washing machine/laundry axe kill) and the vibe is overall SO Halloween deep...the main plot is insanely sloppy though...
I can definitely get behind that. Thanks for watching man.
My Ranking Of The Halloween Franchise :
1. Halloween 6 : The Curse Of Michael Myres
2. Halloween H2O : 20 Years Later
3. Halloween II (Original)
4. Halloween 4 : The Return Of Michael Myres
5. Halloween : Resurection
Damn! Love the placement of 6!
I know! Im still surprised that i like some sequels better than 1, also i take back resurection and replace it with the original after re-watching it :D
When I first saw it I thought Kara's dad was played by John Goodman.
Honestly I would watch your version of Halloween 6 The Curse Of Michael Myers. Is it on blue-rey UA-cam how can I watch it?
I too would like a combination of both but if I had to pick one or the other, I'd have to go with the theatrical. I just can't get by the scene where they flat out say the baby is Michael's in the producers cut. Kills the movie for me. But like you, I'm a fan of this movie, not my favorite but still love it.
Yeah to me they crossed the line with implying that Michael is the father. Thank God that never made it to the theatrical cut.
I like Friday and nightmare movies better but I love H6 its one of my favorite Halloween sequels.
I really like halloween 6 theatrical ending. But i also like certain stuff from the producer's cut also
Agreed. That's why I made my own cut.
My favourite Halloween movie
I think the best version of the movie lies between these. And the doctor's scene is badass.
The best version of the movie is my hybrid cut haha.
Simply because Donald Pleasents has more screen time the producer’s cut is superior
Yeah but the final act in the p cut is abysmal.
Love Halloween 6 it's always been my favorite and the mask was so creepy love it
I know I'm in a small minority, but I actually prefer the theatrical release over the producer's cut. I absolutely hated the ending of the producer's cut. And, the theatrical release actually has one of my favorite Michael kills which is actually when he goes a freaking rampage and ends up crushing that dude's head against the gate in order to bust through it!
Agreed. I much prefer the theatrical ending. ..and the atmosphere of the kills overall.
I enjoy 6 I liked that Tommy was back (isn't that Rudds character name?)Yeah Tommy Doyle. as long as its the producers cut I can always watch this one. I dislike 5 quite a bit more than this as well. I found Tina annoying and the mute Jamie for half the movie was just blah. I liked How Brutal Michael got after he realize he wasn't under their control anymore.
THX FOR HEARTING MY COMMENT!!!
I like the theatrical cut of H6 it was on Netflix I miss watching it on Netflix.
People bash on Halloween 6 a lot and I have no idea why. It explains in detail why micheal is the way he is. The background as to why he's soo evil. I liked this. But I think some people liked it better leaving it a mystery. I understand if you hate the film because of that in that aspect
Maybe it's just because I'm a die hard halloween fan (slasher film in general) but I loved all the Halloween movies....except for 3 for obvious reasons. If halloween 3 just had a different title to it and was not a part of the franchise it would been an awesome movie.
korky 0wnzface Thanks for the comment. H6 is one of my favorite Halloween (hell, even horror films) and I really wanted to put out a good review and say everything I needed to say about it. I just love this film so much, and all the controversy around it with the Producer's Cut and all. Thanks for watching!
The Producers cut has the closets atmosphere to the original. No matter what when they explain Myers there gonna split fans. The Producers cut is the better version the story is fine in the Producers cut.The Producers cut is better then H2o even though that was an ok movie. But it was a sell out film and felt like scream.H8 is trash an never should have been made.Halloween is my third fav franchise.Out of the 3 big horror franchise Jason Freddy Michael. My problem with the franchise is all the alternate timelines.Theres like 4 alternate timelines in this series.Halloween 1 2 H20 8.Then H3 then Halloween 1 2 4 5 6.Then remake and sequel.Had this one made alot of money we prolly would have gotten a son of Michael sequel since the kid was his.Now were getting another new film starting a new timeline. So thats a 5 timeline franchise.I liked the pipe beating in the finale of the theatrical cut.I think the theatrical cut is passable. Its better then 5 which I hated. The Producers cut was good an one of the best sequels.Better then H20 H8 H3 And the sequel to the remake.I think its below the first remake just barley an below Halloween 1 an 2 an 4.Had a sequel been made I do think it would be son on Michael with Tommy trying to stop Michael from recruiting him for his killing spree.Theres a comic that connects 1-6 to H20
Has anyone seen the test tubes in the end if 6. It had Myers name and his thorn mark in it. This would make MM a clone. The drs were trying to weaponize Myers
Yes I've seen them. Never put much thought in to them except that they were for experimentation.
yeah that would be awesome
The issues with this movie is and the series is just keeping continuity. How hard is it to keep the same mask? Why have the Myer's house in a movie if you cant at least have the same style? It's cool to have some explanation as to why he's evil but stick to the basics. Also what's up with not tying Jamie Lloyd and Laurie Strode in the same movie? It's a story keep the previous elements that kept it going....
Completely agree. The mask issue was always a licensing thing, but they should have created their own similar version and ran with it from 2 and on. Regarding the house, 4 and on were not filmed in Pasadena (except Rob Zombie's first). But 5's version was completely bonkers.
Phenomena has Donald pleasance and is a phenomenal movie
Michael in H 20 was a push over he was not force of nature but Michael in 4-6 has a beast lol he was great
Completely agree!
Is there any way to contact you about your H6 cut if I don't have Twitter/Facebook?
MegaSting1981 Contact me @Drumdums on Facebook
@@DrumdumsOfficial Ah unfortunately I'm not on Facebook atm. :(
Can you explain what happened to Loomis in the final of the producers cut
The Thorn curse was passed to him by Wynn.
oh i noticed in halloween 6 that there's two guys playing michael
Yes A. Michael Lerner played him in the final act.
Nice to see someone do a mature review and not just complain and complain while putting the mediocre part 4 and downright awful H2O on a pedestal. Good job.
Thanks man!
i know h20 was horrible!
PRHILL9696 It definitely could have been soooo much better.
8.Halloween 5
7.Halloween 3
6.Halloween 2
5.Halloween resurrection
4.Halloween 6
3.Halloween H 20
2.Halloween 4
1.Halloween
My least to best the original continuity.
i also love halloween 6.. other then part 2, six is my favorite sequel
Agreed. I go back and forth between 4 and 6 as to which is my favorite. Part 2 is great too.
Who was the actress that Edgar Wright recognized?
Mariah O' Brien.
I don't agree with much of your review but I still liked and appreciated it; think I'll subscribe!
Thank you! I don't expect everyone to agree with me. That's what's great about movies though...It's all up to one's interpretation.
Drumdums Agreed. Plus, just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean it wasn't a good review and that I didn't enjoy it! Glad I found your channel. I'm lookn' forward to viewing the rest of your Halloween reviews and am also curious and eager to see how the new Halloween will play.
Skadoosh! Awesome thanks. I have a few updates for the new Halloween movie as well. I also review current films so feel free to browse my channel. Looking forward to your thoughts.
I can’t find the theatrical cut blu Ray. Anyone know where I can get a new copy.
Here you go. amzn.to/2ptcnYu
How can we see your version of the cut?
I gotta check out both versions. This is my favorite Halloween besides the first Halloween. My biological father took me to see this when I was no more than 10 years old. I am now 30 years old and I love the franchise. After watching that movie for like 2 years I had bad dreams lol. Michael is the only one that can do that to me. I seen other horror films and no one can stand up to Michael period.
This movie is freaky scary!
Man our experience is very similar. This is my 2nd favorite as well...and Michael is the only horror icon to scare me.
+Drumdums What is your favorite Halloween thus far? Yea that is why I don't like resurrection because I felt they were trying make him a comedy like they did with Chucky and Jason.
There was for a while an unofficial Halloween game but it got taken down. It was creepy as well. The themes and sounds were creepy. I think they had to rename it the night of the babysitter or something similar. I forgot the rename.
***** My favorite is definitely the original...a classic in every way. I never heard of the game...interesting.
+Drumdums I agree you can't go wrong with classics. Have you ever went to a Halloween convention? I want to go to the next one. Yea there is a couple videos on UA-cam about it. It is pretty awesome but almost impossible to get the original that was put out.
+j c No but I've always wanted to attend one. Hopefully one day.
Lol, I love the part where you say "H6 Michael would handedly whip the shit out of H20 Michael." I couldn't agree more. H20 Michael was a pussy. H6 Michael was as badass as he ever got. Here's a tough question for you, who'd win between the two most unstoppable versions of them all..... H6 Michael vs H4 Michael?
+Dreaklock I don't man, but damn that would be a good fight! Those are my 2 favorite versions of Michael. Thanks for watching man!
I like Halloween 6
I really like this movie, i think halloween 6 it's awesome
Stayed tuned tomorrow for a brand new Halloween Revisited special. Over 25 minutes in length!
I think this movie is kind of a mess, and I really don’t like the way they explained Michael and all that weird stuff.
I definitely prefer a more simple movie like the first one.
oh yeah i remember now umm he seemed taller then George Wilbur
I love this movie!!
I also like this movie a lot!
I actually like the movie I know it had a lot of behide the scenes Problems and not casting danielle Harris the director wasn't even a fan he did it cause of a 2 picture deal All the Reshoots but Michael Myers is the most brutal in this Movie and they actually shot it in the Fall so 7/10 ☆☆1/2
Yeah despite the issues I really love Curse.
Which version of this should I watch first?
how tall was don shanks?
Well I'm the only person that love the first film and the only the first John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN everyone beside me.
One of the best ones in the series, The thorn occult was awesome and michael was scary, I still get creeper out by 6 & can't watch it alone. The only thing that don't make sense is why they would want michael to impregnate Jamie if he's trying to kill his family. To be Michael's last sacrifice and then the curse moves on to another. I think 6 is dope & anyone who don't like it can fuk off lbvs
hahaha :-) creeped out* not creeper lmfao that's funny chitt, thanx auto spell lbvs
Yeah they really stepped it up on the creepiness factor in 6. Loved it!
George Wilbur got replaced towards the end of the movie cause he was to big Michael Lerner the Stunt Coordinator son replaced him
That is correct. That's why Michael at the end is thinner.
A. Michael Lerner played Michael Myers in the reshoots & Makeup Effects Artist Brad Hardin played Michael Myers in a couple of shots with 2ND Unit.
Myers in H20 is so lame and took away from that movie. In 6 Myers is better but he does look like for the last 6 years between H5 and H6 that he fell in love with sitting on the couch and eating cheeseburgers lol
why did they not let George Wilbur do the reshoots?
They addressed that in the documentary. George said it was just "business" and nothing personal, but they wanted to go with someone thinner. He is in the reshoots though...as one of the doctors in the lab massacre.
Drumdums who's decision was that? producers or the studio
