- As a beginner into the world of backpacking, I did not know if I would be capable of hiking with 30+ pounds on my back or if I would even enjoy primitive living for several days at a time. So, I decided to purchase a budget backpack from Amazon.
This backpack from Free Knight came in at a budget price of less than $50. I have made three trips into the back country for over 50 miles and my pack weight came in around 32-35 pounds for each trip.
You really cannot beat the price of this pack if you are just starting out as a backpacker OR if you are just looking for a budget backpack in general.
Let me break down all of the details, my thoughts on the pack and how it worked for me in this video.

Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching!
My current pack for the past year has been the Teton Explorer 75. They do have a 65L, this is a great pack for my budget with plenty of room and completely adjustable. I think it's worth a look.
Hey thanks so much for the suggestion. I actually just took the Outdoor Vitals Shadowlight pack so that video will be coming soon!
Osprey and REI have great packs and they have women specific designs - the sales folks at REI can get you fit to a pack just right. Then armed with that knowledge you can shop for the budget.
Those packs also cost a lot of money.
Absolutely and we'll get there but we wan't to show folks that you don't have to spend $400 to get into the hobby. I just tried a new Outdoor Vitals pack so that one is coming soon.
exactly $350
@@DownSouth_Adventures Ha! $400 for a pack isn't expensive in some circles but it is for me. There are also video on YT that can show you how to size a pack for your needs.
@@Grizzly907LA She's used this one for 50 miles of hiking.
