I think some people are afraid to actually get loose and just have fun for fear of being recorded on someone’s instagram or Snapchat story without being judged/ clowned lol Also I think it’s better if you go with a group of mutual friends who are down to have fun, and not there to “people watch” or stand around and look cool/disinterested
The lack of privacy really killed the club. Whatever happened in the club used to stay in the club and now people have this self inflated image. They are just too cool to do anything they used to be a place to let loose.

Social media kills most things imo. I went to a concert recently and literally EVERYONE was on their phones watching the concert through the screen, live streaming it, playing games, and doing everything but watching and experiencing the actual concert. It's honestly really upsetting.
I went to go see my favorite group perform back in October 2023. All cell phones were locked away. I LOVED that experience so much. No phones blocking everyone's sight and everyone was engaged in the concert.

The nightclub is dying out because we've all become inward and self obsessed. Its all about image, people who used to go out and have fun/connect with others now just want to look cool and barely crack a smile. Covid just sped up the process. We all are plugged into our phones, social media and reels. Our attention spans cant handle real interactions anymore, because as a whole people are generally awkward, slow and just collectively trying to survive socially. (And that's okay) but now we need such high levels of attention, activity and stimulation to stay engaged. Our dopaminergic systems are absolutely shot, and if we all collectively detoxed from our vices...then maybe there'd be hope for the clubs to revive. I think festivals have become the new "club" experience.
Yeah lifestyle creep has gone crazy, you used to she able to spend 50 in a club in 2015 and be good but nowadays your lucky if you walk out spending less than 150. I was in AZ two weeks ago and 6 drinks for the guys costed 166.00

Bogie's Lounge, 1989. You paid $5 to get in the place, enter the bar & the girls pour in. Conversations start at the bar and you start grinding on the floor, an hour later you either get rejected or you leave the bar with her.
@@levelupeezyGrinding came out in the 90's when I Turned 21. The Difference is night & day. You couldn't grind without two people. If a Chick tried twerking on the dance floor in the 90's by herself, her friends would end up dumping her off at a mental hospital afterwards.
We need to bring it back to the community anyway. Do more block parties, house parties, and local park festivals, skate parties, organize more Sunday brunches and more cultural vibes. Where we’re coming together to celebrate each other. I honestly think this is part of the crime waves in our communities. We’re not as connected as we used to be. Nobody knows each other, we’re not engaging each other like we used to back in the day. Ask yourself now, how many neighbors on your block do you know? How many can you actually hold conversations with? We’re so disconnected from each other. Bring back the community events and parties. It’s not that hard to become a community organizer! It’s very fulfilling because you’re bringing the spiritual vibes back up for your ppl. We need more of this!
You are speaking all facts, we are very disconnected, unfortunately that is the American way. We are capitalist it’s me, Me,me, but also remember other people feel the same way you do and if we are more creative, we can bring people back to those vibes. Don’t give up hope.
@@djeanpierre true, but it’s even more dangerous to seclude ourselves even more and have zero connection with each other. It unfortunately makes people less connected to their own ppl. And the problem just gets worse and worse.

My club experience in college was a really good time dancing with random girls with no expectations of anything but just us having fun but now feels like every homecoming in high school of people awkwardly standing 😂
I love going to the club. The problem is black clubs that play murder music and hip hop. When I go to the Hispanic clubs they play hip hop to Hispanic music and it stays turnt. We just gotta bring back fun music and take phones at the door and niggas forgot how to dance 😂

@@levelupeezy not true. Millennials era was that era. Also, younger millennials was still in the club in 2009, when it was still on its life bed around that time🤣. I was clubbing in 2003, so I know
This is going to sound crazy. But, in the 90's, there were clubs where you couldn't stand within 15 feet from the dance floor for too long, without getting pulled up to the dance floor by Girls. If she wasn't attractive, after a couple of songs, there were so many chicks dancing, that you could easily slide over to another chick that you wanted to hit up.
If you were clubbing in the 90s, you were literally in the golden age before any type of social media you live your best life, my brother, cherish those memories
I was a club rat 2005-2009 though. I stopped in march of 2010 but let me tell you we had it the best. All the songs y’all mentioned. I am tired of the smart phone. I miss the flip phone days.
Clubbing died after the 80s. Even in the 90s, something about it changed and by the 2000s onward, it was no longer about just having fun. This applies mainly to the US. Go to other countries and it’s very different.
I thought it started dying in 2008 when they started to section off the club and getting rid of the dance floors. It sounds similar to NFL football teams getting rid of the season ticket holders and adding personal seating license and adding luxury boxes that separates the real fans and Jack up the prices more.
@@jqight740 Correct. Because around 2007, they came up with a new concept called "The Ultra Lounge". It wasn't the end at first, but the concept put couches next to the dance floor and it was like half the size. Then each year, the dance floors got smaller & smaller until they practically disappeared in some clubs.
What's so strange is everyone has a choice to use social media. No one is forcing anyone to scroll (or go along) while at a social event. And yet everyone does. It's like people have been conditioned to be this way. It's about the image (or the self), more than the event itself.
Damn man y’all taking me back. We had teenage clubs too where I’m from. And yo u are so right about waiting for that beat to drop and looking for that one person u wanted to dance with for that particular song. Make it mandatory to leave ur phone in the car. Get rid of vip sections. Have a dance floor that is strictly for dancing. Get ride of couches and lounge furniture. 5 dollar drinks. 5 dollar cover. Dress code. No shorts, no flip flops.
Yeah social media has played a MAJOR role because now, people don’t have to go out to get that experience anymore. They can follow their favorite celeb or influencer and be made to feel like they are in the club right from their phone. I grew up in the era where if you weren’t there, people talking about it the next day would make you HAVE to see it for yourself. Also, social media killed actual human interaction which contributes greatly to a fun experience at the club. Too much self centered, narcissistic people going to the club to look good for their social media pages. Especially the women 🙄🤦🏾♂️ no one dances, just look cute and look at the phone. Why even come out in the first place?
You definitely lived in the golden age of the club before social media and everyone worried about what they think of you the next day it was all live action and that is all gone now
I've use to go to clubs in from 1982 to 2002. When I first started going in DC area, clubs used to have discipline: Men used to dress in suits, blazers, dress pants and dress shoes. Women used to wear dresses, skirts, pants, etc. But in the mid to late 80's, things changed. It's come as you are.
You definitely from the Golden age of clubbing. Be glad you didn't have to see what it has come through now. I'm sure you got some stories you can never tell!
It’s not social media, it’s the music, they play more thug music music in the clubs , they don’t play dance and party music, I’m a DJ and I see it all the time, I blame the DJs. Dj job is to rock the party, they afraid to play party music, they cater to the streets instead of the party. Street music is street music and party music is party music. All street music isn’t club music, some songs can but it is so watered down now, they okay all street music in the clubs. 80s,90,2000s was the best party music years in the clubs.
Why are you going to the clubs for girls? The odds are never in your favor unless you’re extremely good looking or famous The club is a place to go enjoy music in a way that you normally can’t with your regular speakers

@levelupeezy you know what you're right. I live in a fairly small town. In the city prices are much higher. In London the prices are near double! Like you say, nothing to show for it,!
That is exactly my point because the club has not been amazingly fun for 10 years you never really got the experience to have a good time like all the people in the comments are reminiscing about. What do you do for fun instead because people still need to be social?
I went clubbing in Vienna 5x this year and it's still like in the 2000s. Almost no one has their phones out and it's rather "not cool" here to be perceived as a social media addict.

That’s because partying in those decades was more common today it’s zero common sense those are things now are old that’s why nobody does them anymore social media is the new generation
I’m 47 and I agree with everything you guys said! My clubbing days was in the 90’s and into the early 2000’s. I remember when social media and online dating started to get popular, I knew this would happen eventually! There was a lot of things that caused it, but dating apps/social media and sections at the club are at the top of the list!
I went to NY nightclubs beginning in 86 and DJed professionally in Manhattan every weekend and most weeknights from 95 until COVID so I know what I’m talking about. I can tell you how it died. The first nail in the coffin was banning smoking in clubs. Before that people would stay all night until the lights came on at four. The later it got the busier it got. But after the smoking ban people would go outside for a cigarette and they might not come back in. This created a shorter rotation of customers which caused DJs to cater to immediate gratification in order to keep people inside. The music got trendier and more focused on quick mixes to appease shorter attention spans. If that wasn’t bad enough cell phones came into being also around that time. There’s a reason there aren’t any clocks or windows in clubs. It’s so you will forget about the outside world and spend money partying. Cell phones have the time and let you talk to people who aren’t there. So that illusion is destroyed. I remember whenever it was daylight savings time in the fall, the manager would always come up to me around 3am and say “ are you ok with playing an extra hour “ and people would stay until basically 5am. That never happened again after cell phones. Then came 2004 when Millennials finally became old enough to go out. That 50 cent song came out that year and all the DJs were complaining to each other that people were obsessed with that song and that they had to play it over and over. I had one friend DJ Omi, who said she would play it back to back until people stopped dancing just so she could get back to DJing. The requests for Britney Spears were endless and were always made by annoying girls who either weren’t even dancing or would take over the dance floor obnoxiously shouting the lyrics with their little girl posse. The millennials turned nightclubs into fucking Karaoke and the spineless promoters and club owners catered to this bridge and tunnel crowd because rents had become outrageous. That’s how it all ended.
Truth. I’m am so thankful that I had a fake ID in the 2000’s. I got to enjoy the last of the club/party scene era. Literally started a decline in 2012. Now it’s just doomed. It worst for the people who have no friends.

I Think Things Would Be Better In Most Clubs If The Clubs Were Playing House, Techno, Electronica, Dubstep, Bass And EDM. I'm Sure A Lot More People Would Be On The Dance Floor 🕺 And Many People Would Get Their Money's Worth And The Going Out Experience.
Well I Have Scene Clubs Like That On Social Media Where There's People Dancing 🕺 All Over The Dance Floor 💃 In London, Chicago, Charlotte And Atlanta During House Music Events.
I used to work in a fancy night club in Germany until 2018. Even before COVID19 I could observe a steady decline of interest in such venues especially from the younger crowd. The focus shifted primarily towards various bars which offered music, a dancefloor and no entrance fees. These places are always packed and the crowd is very diverse. The only types of clubs which are still attracting a lot of guests here are techno clubs. The more "traditional" form of clubbing with lounges, champagne bottles and showing off is truly archaic nowadays.
I’m glad things are changing out there. The US needs to catch up. We are old so we are naturally going to stop going to the club . They still have to cater to the younger generation and they can’t afford all that bottle popping and peacocking
Nah it's hypergamy and modern day selection(highest status guys, best looking, if you are part of lower income you will feel that "drug dealers" get the most play since that's the only thing u've witnessed and experienced from growing up in that setting.
While I agree that there is some level of hypergamy, the club used to be a place for everyone to have fun. And like the old guy is saying it’s not fun anymore. That is the whole purpose. You can be attractive, but if you’re not spending any money, then you’re not going to have a good time and the point is sometimes the money spent is not worth the time that you have regardless, if you were rich or poor.
You were definitely in the sweet spot the arrow before social media and the Internet completely took over our lives. Cherish those memories and don’t forget that they’re still opportunities to have those good times when you’re with the right people.
House/mansion parties are the vibez! It’s not just for young people! I’ve been to mature ones as well!! I’m a young cat! During end of Covid when everything was shut down but re-opening was PEAK house party type vibes. Was really fun
Hey, we all love a good mansion party, you’re lucky that you can find them. I definitely feel like the vibes are higher in those places than the club prosper.!
I don’t think there is a sausage fest problem. I’ve been to a lot of clubs with the odds were really in favor of men because men don’t want to spend any money anymore and women still get the free so there’s an abundance of women too bad that the women still aren’t tried to have any fun so it’s so boring.
I'm older than most of the people here. In the '80s dudes were ready to dance and have fun. Now a lot of men are too cool to dance. God forbid that men dance with each other (they do in all of Asia but not the US/Canada/UK). Groups of women go out looking great and they take a group selfie, send it to each other, and then everyone spends 20 mins silent editing that photo for their personal IG. There are a lot of interesting people your own age but club people and social clubs are not usually overlapping. You could meet a nice girl who is a volunteer at the dog rescue (caring and compassionate) who runs them (fit) and you wouldn't need to spend a dime. And you could easily have a conversation. But a lot of people won't do that because they are obsessed with social media. They are just lamenting that other people are self-obsessed, too. And you made a good point. Women are interested in getting attention online but they don't care about actually having a man in their life. A lot of them got tired of being called names like 304 😅 and that they are a 4 out of 10. Fresh and Fit narrative.
Bruh, I’m a smooth 20 yrs removed from the club scene… wasn’t really a big fan back in the day tbh (early 20s). But sections sound weird af. I thought the pandemic killed clubs but social media… hadn’t even thought about that. As a society we need to learn to be present
I'm in Dallas, and I agree wholeheartedly. The major exception is EDM/Techno clubs, shows, and festivals. We go there to dance , move, and socialize. Other than those I attend events, taco festivals, art & musical festivals or themed specific activities, night life entertainment.
I’m at Chicago, and I haven’t been to a club before but I’m going to one in February just because of the dj. I saw his boiler room set and it looked LIT and that’s why I’m going. Cuz it’s actually good vibes.
I’m 48… you’re soooo right. I wondered what happened… so glad to hear younger people explained what happened. From 18-33 (until I got married) I went to clubs as often as possible… gay clubs/black clubs… whatever… there’s still a gay bar in town but no one dances… they just watch the drag queens and that gets boring after a while.
The Club was the place to be, I agree, you lived in the Golden Age! A time where you used to "sweat it out" ! I feel like the kids moved on to something better I just dont know what it is yet
Great commentary! 🗣🎙💯 What's interesting is that we early 00's clubbers (05 and after) also had social media on our flip phones and [early model] smart phones but never felt pressed to constantly swipe them or record ourselves to keep up a fancy online persona. We had fun coming of age in our youthful ignorance and were mostly physically present in the moment (if you don't count the intoxicated 🥴😂😂😂) The only time we thought to whip out phones were for a selfie or group photo here and there or to hook up during the night (plus livestreams didn't exist yet). Tbh I don't miss the club era at all, and I say this as the "Smooth" guy who got plenty #s, girls and turnt up extra hard with my crew back then. I won't knock these new kids though as I understand most think it's a right of passage and the old heads are haters like I did.
The ambiguity of smart phones, social media, dating apps, popularity of chill music and cost have definitely influenced club closures. Clubs will eventually make a come back.
Yes, the writing is on the wall once they realize that they are making less money catering to a select few people who spend all this money they will try to revamp the scene to the purity of what the club used to be about fun and entertainment and vibes. It’s all a business model in right now apparently spending a lot of money serves them, but they will learn soon.
Now overseas, clubs are somewhat poppin but even in Europe and Asia they are going the ways of America. Just came from places like Germany, Korea, and Colombia then coming back to the States its depressing lol
Yes sir the Spanish mommies are still salsaing down, there is a club in Houston called Fabians in Downtown and it’s only getting more packed every week

A coworker of mine from work told me going to the club is like digging a hole with no treasure inside of it. In other words completely pointless.
Well once cell phones and social media become a solid thing people stopped socializing tbh, and we lost those skills. Ever pay attention to people out at restaurants, people rarely talk over dinner they put their phones on the table or are on it the whole time. Where dancing was for the club, it’s become just a bunch of anti social folks now🤷🏽♀️. Everything has its season, it’s time to try something new if you ask me, let’s bring back block parties.
Yeah, people don’t know how to embrace in awkward silence anymore. Once it’s quiet, they go to their phone and forget what the socializing part of the club is all about. That is a great point.
2016-2019 was my lit era of the clubs! They don't hit the same anymore and super expensive. Rather stay home and drink and the best part is I can put on good music and crash in my bed. No drama and good vibes!
Its because hanging out with friends and having kickbacks was something we did regularly but since social media replaced it hanging out is the new fun so thats whats done at the clubs now
I was more into the dive bars, piano bars, or lounges myself. Clubs were too loud, hypersexual, and crowded. I liked being in a place where we could dance if we wanted or sit and chat (and actually hear each other). Also bars do open mics and karaoke. I didn't go clubbing often, but I did have a good time back in 2004~2009. I had my first clubbing experience at 18 at a "youth night". Do they not do those anymore?
That was definitely the golden age right before Instagram came out and while we did have Facebook, no one really knew what would come of it and it didn’t really impact our daily lives. People are too cool to dance now.
Too cool to dance at a club? That is tragic. Maybe because TikTok dances only last about 20 seconds and they don't know what to do after that. LOL @@levelupeezy
Havana Cuba has limited wifi so the club scene is still huge. I've been to large clubs there where hundreds of people dance and they have some of the most beautiful women, it looks alot like back in the day in Atlanta. Clubs in other Latin countries mostly have social media and are starting to become like the US but its still worth going there.vs socializing in the US.

Well I'm glad I had my fun. I went to the clubs in 2007-2012 so social media was fairly new. We only carried cell phones to jot down phone numbers but we were having fun in the moment.
The club has been dead for about 15 yrs. I knew it was over when a person no longer had to be cool to have a section. Nowadays a person can buy their way into being cool.
Dang, you had to be cool just to get a section? Speak on that please because yes, all you need is money now, lots of money .how did it work back in the day?
The current phone and social media generation has made going out in public a less enjoyable experience. Some people livestream while in clubs, taking away from the experience of those around them. What was once a place to escape reality and the outside world has become overpriced and filled with unpleasant individuals. The clubbing scene has lost its charm, and only a certain type of people still go there, the ones who make it a negative experience for everyone else.
I have some cousins who are younger who genuinely aren’t interested in meeting new people. They aren’t gay, the y aren’t a sexual, they are just content with their computer , tv, and phone . It’s shocking
When you’re in the mature phase of life 30+ It’s better to round up some trusted friends and their close male/female friends. Agree on whose home can be used as the venue, who brings bottles, snacks and music and just have fun with some real folks! Perfect opportunity for people to meet their future spouse- moreso if you’ve invited some high calibre people. Just an all round wholesome intentional social interaction. Can’t be wasting money on clubs randoms who are fixated on their phones. Best to bring the fun to your home and see how great the outcome will be! From the desk of a 40+ female former clubber😊
In Europe and NYC the scene is going back to the way it use to be real clubbing house music real club music tx , never really club the south never really club
I was in England in August and the club scene really was like that it was a lot more vibrant and it was a lot more energy and just plutonic dancing more of a fun vibe high vibration, life
Clubs in Europe and Asia, especially Asia, are all about bottle service and sectioned off VIP area. The phenomenon has finally makes its way to the US. Gone will be the day when you can just walk into a club, grab a beer and have a good time. Dudes with the cash have all the chicks cornered.
Bro fax. I just moved from Houston a year ago and the main reason I left because I was spending too much money in the club waking up with just a hangover credit card debt and not even having a good time. It was all in illusion. Best decision I ever made.
Me too movement made even very well behaved men nervous to approach women. Hypergamy made "normal" guys feel apathetic about going. Social Media enables bully girls to publicly shame any guy they feel is even 3% "ick" or "ew", making a lot of guys nervous to even speak to girls. Modern young girls are, more and more, acting like weird imitations of any angry, arrogant male, which is beyond NOT sexy to 99% of guys. Gen Z is considered possibly the most overweight and bad hygiene generation yet. And the more time goes on, the less truly good music is coming out, while inflation means what used to be "$3 beer night" is now "$7 beer night". I mean... do you really need me to go on? Why WOULD anyone but a Chad or Pookie want to club? You have to have the chiseled jaw and abs, and be 6' or taller if you even want to walk in and hope for anything but "ew, don't look at me loser".
@@levelupeezy definetley were mate I must admit I've had some brilliant nights out in my time just local towns as well. I work with someone he's 22 now feel sorry for him because the best recent era of clubbing is gone.
Agreed. Glad I was in college at this time. Golden era. It was still decent up until 2018. 2019 was workable but started going downhill. covid was the nail in the coffin. you can still have a good time in Houston but you have be at a great club on a big night with a decent artist. you can’t just walk into any club on a Saturday night and expect to have a good time anymore. it CAN be a good time but risk/ reward simply is not there. 2013-2016 a wild night was pretty much guaranteed so it would always be worth it to even pop out for even an hour. no planning required. Dallas tho> Completely different story. It’s still solid out there. Jezebels for days 😂
It’s a blessing in disguise I hate clubs loud music over expensive drinks. Women who think their 💩 don’t stink dudes mean mugging and dry @ss music. Concerts are better and clubs outside of America are still good
I’ll tell you as a guy who goes to clubs to specifically dance. The last time I went to the club was in Philly a month and a half ago. I’ll tell you my most recent experience. I can’t tell you how many times I get people thinking I’m arrogant and just walk away from me with a sour face because I can actually dance to the rhythm of a beat and not a wallflower. I also get danced on by women a lot because at the end of the day, it’s all about your confidence on the dance floor and women will be attracted to that, I even made out with a couple on the dance floor as well. It’s also about how attractive you are as well, this is a huge factor when it comes to women wanting to dance with you. I keep myself in shape and I have an athletic body type (think of a professional soccer player physique.) Being very attractive body wise will get you far in the club with women if you know how to dance on top of that, you need to display confidence and stand out. Like I said earlier, you will repel a lot of people who think your arrogant but I get compliments on the dance floor from both women and men. There was also a girl in the club I wanted to dance with and another dude came up to her to try to dance with her and she rejected him instantly (quite rudely) and turned back to her friends. I come up from behind her a few minutes later on a different song and she gave me a very flirtatious look and started dancing with me. Women will dance with you but you gotta basically be the life of the party and look above average, just sayin.
Speaking all facts my guy. Sometimes you just got the juice. It’s hard to make a video for people who got the game down pat because if you are good in the club and know how to work it, you can always have a good time, but the average man is definitely struggling to cultivate the vibe
This is exactly why I always hung in the underground scene, have been to the best parties where the music played is not on the radio and everyone dances. Why would I pay so much money to hear music I can listen to on the radio? I want a different experience.

Damn, you’re right, everyone cares about themselves and not the collective vibe

We need to bring it back to the community anyway. Do more block parties, house parties, and local park festivals, skate parties, organize more Sunday brunches and more cultural vibes. Where we’re coming together to celebrate each other. I honestly think this is part of the crime waves in our communities. We’re not as connected as we used to be. Too much self centered, narcissistic people going to the club to look good for their social media pages. Especially the women 🙄🤦🏾♂️ no one dances, just look cute and look at the phone. Why even come out in the first place?
You definitely lived in the golden age of the club before social media and everyone worried about what they think of you the next day it was all live action and that is all gone now
Right.
I'm from PG county, clubs like Club Love, Ibiza, Fur, even DC star was fun. Clubs died out in DC around 2015
You definitely from the Golden age of clubbing. Be glad you didn't have to see what it has come through now. I'm sure you got some stories you can never tell!
2015 is a year that a lot of people are saying things changed, coincidentally the same time when Snap Chat and IG rally got popping.... Just Sad!
This is the curse of mobile phones and social media. Real people and real fun don't exist no more😢😢
It’s not social media, it’s the music, they play more thug music music in the clubs , they don’t play dance and party music, I’m a DJ and I see it all the time, I blame the DJs.
Girls like glo rilla, Latto, cardi B and especially sexy red, it’s outta control

🤔 so in like 2009 my girls and I were at a grand opening for this club (like mega big deal in our area) we looked around and everyone was texting 😳 and we were like “phones down! Put your damn phones down!” 😆
So tell me this? Did you all follow suit and continue the low vibes or did y’all get on the dance floor and change the scene. A lot of times it just takes an initial spark to make everything fun again.
I was a big club goer back in the 2000s best time ever. I'm too old to go now but I imagine it's different now with social media.
If you ever go to Houston you will see that you are NEVER too old. AVG age in most clubs are 30z Seeing someone 45 in the club is no big deal. But I’m glad you made it out sis
Last time I been in the nightclub I seen an old man dancing in the middle of the club. 😅
Brother's here's a tip from an OG that still goes out alone on a regular basis and if I want, I can dress to the nines or not, and have females coming up to me asking to dance, with no problem I can meet females from all cultures/ethnicities and still get numbers, etc. You ready go to the Latin Salsa/Mambo clubs, it's the same if I go to CT, NY, DC, MD, VA, because it's the last place a man can go and still walk away respected because he's the male lead. Even if you know basic Salsa steps, which many clubs offer for a price sometimes as low as $10 or $15 to see and hear a live band depending on your part of the country there are dance classes before the hardcore dancers arrive. Also, the age range from 21-70, everybody dances with everybody, I have my pick, some places offer excellent food at a reasonable price. You can learn to dance Merengue and Bachata from the Dominican Republic, the women love these dances, and Salsa/Mambo NY style, Cuba style and you don't have to know any Spanish. Literally your on the dance floor for hours. If you want to be a domestic passport brother than go to the Latin Clubs, at least you get the flavor before you leave the country. Damn, two years in the trenches with no return. Get out while you can. What is the most money that you have spent in the club?
Most Djs sucked even when I used to head out years ago, if you found one who knew how to connect with people on the dance floor, follow him or her where ever they go and you will always have a great time.

@levelupeezy Always was also my problem. It was harsh times for me. I ended up meeting girls at stores and online, but it wasn't till I was in my 30s that I knew what to actually look for.
For men, trying to approach a woman in a club, chat her up, buy her drinks is all torture.

In the UK a taxi costs £15 × 2, entrance £20, 10 drinks at £7 is £70 throw in another £30 for extras snd youve spent £152. Brexit Britain is a poorer Britain and youngsters dont have £152 spare.
Half the people want to document on their phone rather than enjoy it. Also younger people are more health concious.
Bro 152 pounds! 200 US and nothing to show for it is a pain. I was in UK I’m August and that Uber to the city was 60 pounds , that hurt !
@levelupeezy you know what you're right. I live in a fairly small town. In the city prices are much higher. In London the prices are near double! Like you say, nothing to show for it,!
Me being 27 years old never been to a club I guess I’m not missing nothing
That is exactly my point because the club has not been amazingly fun for 10 years you never really got the experience to have a good time like all the people in the comments are reminiscing about. What do you do for fun instead because people still need to be social?
I went clubbing in Vienna 5x this year and it's still like in the 2000s. Almost no one has their phones out and it's rather "not cool" here to be perceived as a social media addict.
Vienna!? Shout out to Europe for changing the scene. Is it upscale bottle popping or free entry dance floor vibes ?
@@levelupeezy the latter :) I literally spent just 20€ per night, and I'm a woman, and no men need to spend anything on women here. Us girls just danced in a silly way (no twerking or weird sexualized dancing) and guys had fun around us, too. Bouncers let everyone in and no one causes any trouble, and we don't think a guy is weird just because he talked to us, no matter if he's handsome or not. Drinks are 5~8€/drink. Foreigners are also welcome and everyone speaks English if you can't speak German. Clubs can be reached by foot/public transport so mostly (expensive crazy 50$) parking doesn't exist here when going to a club. The wifi signal is bad down there in the (mostly) underground clubs anyways so posting stuff isn't even possible😂 And we even have toilet paper at toilets so you get to keep your dignity.

Cellphones are the new school for fun and the new generation partying and hanging out is now old fashioned thing for fun
I knew I grew up in the wrong era. when I saw videos of the clubs in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s it looked naturally fun and everyone was actually having a good time.
Hopefully Everything comes in waves like maybe that type of club experience will come back around one day is the not to far away future
The night club scene started dying in 2015/16 in the UK and fully buried 2020.
Hey man idk I was in the UK in August for Carnival and it was lit. The girls were turnt but they were a lil afraid to bump and grind
I just think there just too many options for entertainment. Back then, it's considered "limited" options to past time in the weekends, nights.
There are way more options out there , you can honestly meet girls . Like on the street !
Literally started a decline
in 2012.

What area have you been to where that has worked. Black people sadly are always going to like heavy bass hip hop and twerk music
I’m 33 and I’m glad that when I was 18 clubs were fun we danced and no one was glued to a phone or social media because Facebook was just coming out
You were definitely in the sweet spot the arrow before social media and the Internet completely took over our lives.
Sausage fest problem. Too many excess men in society. Why did clubs always let in women free and prioritize them?
Big facts , but we don’t control what people like anymore. The younger generation always dictates what is socially acceptable
These days I see girls run away from the dance floor when "Back that A** up" lol. Funniest thing Ive seen recently. I knew then clubs are dying.
Man, you are not lying😂. Hurt my heart.

Brooooo you gotta go. I’m not saying don’t go just set your expectations. Good Luck !
We had fun coming of age in our youthful ignorance and were mostly physically present in the moment (if you don't count the intoxicated 🥴😂😂😂)
The only time we thought to whip out phones were for a selfie or group photo here and there or to hook up during the night (plus livestreams didn't exist yet). Tbh I don't miss the club era at all, and I say this as the "Smooth" guy who got plenty #s, girls and turnt up extra hard with my crew back then. I won't knock these new kids though as I understand most think it's a right of passage and the old heads are haters like I did.
The modern cell phone is def a crutch for everyone now. Young, Old, and in between are addicted. Need that constant stimulation.
You are right those places still got motion. They have social media just like we do. What do you think is the difference?

Yeah, people don’t know how to embrace in awkward silence anymore. Once it’s quiet, they go to their phone and forget what the socializing part of the club is all about. That is a great point.
2016-2019 was my lit era of the clubs! They don't hit the same anymore and super expensive. Rather stay home and drink and the best part is I can put on good music and crash in my bed. No drama and good vibes!
2016-2019 was solid, I would say golden age was 2008-2016 tbh. But as long as you not drinking at home alone you good lol

Social media +the cost of a night out+many other factors are killing nightlife
Been dead for a long time. Enjoyable from 2011 till around 2015 then it went shit.
Boyyyyyyy that 2011-2015 🤫💥💥 them years were hittttting!
@@levelupeezy definetley were mate I must admit I've had some brilliant nights out in my time just local towns as well. I work with someone he's 22 now feel sorry for him because the best recent era of clubbing is gone.
agreed, something happened around 2015-2019. That was the noticeable signs
@@mr.jayjay2401 people just stopped going out I noticed women especially have stopped more men in most places now.
Concerts are better and clubs outside of America are still good
It is a blessing bro. Save that money , club goers are chasing a high that doesn’t exist anymore
Where is the underground seen popping at. What state are you in?
@@levelupeezy I am from Jersey and a Gen Xer. I also DJ, and friends with a lot of amazing DJ’s.
Brooklyn has always been poppin for ravers. I saw Honey Dijon with the Black Madonna a few years ago. Best party ever!!! Dance floor was packed! It was a rooftop party. The best house and tech house music!
Festivals have been a great time as well, camping out for several days with the best music.
Last year I DJd in Times Square for fashion week and played a couple parties in Brooklyn.
Make some friends with Gen X old school ravers who still love the music and you will get invited to the coolest parties.
