Fix It Felix Jr. - FULL SOUNDTRACK! (NES Style) ~ 2A03 Remix

- Hi, all! I know it's been a really long time, but I've been busy! Busy with a lot of things, what with college and other stuff, but this here's been taking up a lot of my time. My longest video to date, this here's not just a single song, no, but an ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK! The complete OST to Fix-It Felix Jr., ported to the NES! (All the early 80's hits made it to the Nintendo, didn'tcha know?)
For those unfamiliar with this game: it originates from 2012 Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, as the game where the movie's eponymous character plays the "bad guy" role, but finds he isn't appreciated for his work and explores the arcade in search of a mission to prove his worth. Disney released a real Fix-It Felix Jr. cabinet to promote the film, and it's clear that a lot of influence came from Nintendo's early 80s titles like Donkey Kong. They also released different versions of the game on different platforms, such as the Flash Player version with simplified controls.
A majority of this OST features the work of Henry Jackman, who wrote the score for the film. Other themes, fanfares and sound effects were taken from the arcade and Flash games, and two of the tracks ("TobiKomi Logo" and "Initial Entry") are entirely new additions -- try to guess what inspired them!
Wreck-It Ralph, Fix-It Felix Jr. and all of the original music are property of Disney. "TobiKomi" is a fictional company, also created by Disney, and not the owner; do not credit them.

This is something I should have had in the description. Thank you for taking care of it!
@@levir.starsmusic Sure thing. I like doing this sort of thing!
So good that UA-cam thinks it's the original. Well done.
It must mean I'm doing somethin' right! Thanks ;)
Or someone from Disney manually marked it
@@DamianYerrick That might not be the case, I got an audio claim before the video was published. It recognized 0:49 - 1:34 from Jackman's score
1:18 I'M GONNA WRECK IT!
Opening 3 should be called “I’m Gonna Wreck It!”
I agree
Who's up for a NES port of Fix-It Felix Jr.?
I sure am, 'cuz I'd love to play that, and this right here sets the stage for it!
I'm down for that!
@@levir.starsmusic And with that, I must ask - could you provide an NSF file that has all these tracks in it?
@@SkyTheLeafeon Ask and ye shall receive: bit.ly/3h1i9Lv
@@levir.starsmusic Thank you!
BRING IT!! I'd prefer the original cartridge for my NES in the Black Box art, as well as the Famicom cart.
These sound a lot like Super Mario Bros. 1 instruments
Funny you should say that, the placeholders I used for the percussion were from SMB1! The Super Mario influence in this music is very strong
@@levir.starsmusic They are strong but still sound amazing! Good work!

Hey, nice job with these! I'm currently working on a dual AY-3-8910 version of the soundtrack for my own version of the game, and this might end up being good inspiration.
Hey, that sounds neat! Feel free to let me know once that's out, so I can listen
@@levir.starsmusic I'm also giving the graphics an overhaul to more accurately reflect what it may have actually looked like as a 1982 arcade release (and making gameplay changes to make the game more fun)
@@125scratch2 that's it, yer gettin' a sub from me. I gotta see how this project shapes out
@@levir.starsmusic I'll make sure to post video updates then
Also not sure if you'd know anything about this, but for some reason I have a feeling like some of the sound effects and music in the intro to Wreck-it Ralph were actually changed between the theatrical and home video releases...? I know they're different in the trailers, and they sound a bit familiar, then again it's been 11 years
2:47 Section Complete
Real question:
Was Fix-it Felix Jr. real game tho?
Not in the 80s. It was made in the last 10 years, but only to promote the movie, so I don't know if you'd call that a "real" game or not
I thought Namco made the game in the 80s. No wonder alot of people say that Disney made the game somewhere in the 2010s, because that's when it was really made. There were rumors that Namco made the game in the 80s, but those were just rumors. They even made up the old machines that they were on, but according to Wikipedia, it was never on those machines.
@@bennel3588 And those machines looked awfully convincing, too
@@levir.starsmusic even the game "brand" was Tobikomi
Both the playable one and the attract mode decoy at the d23 expo in 2011
I can fixed it and I’m gonna wreck it!!!
May i use this?
Yes, and credit me if you'd like.
The initial entry was undoubtedly inspired by Vs. Super Mario Bros. name entry music.
TobiKomi logo is tough. Maybe the Rainbow Project sound from Rainbow Islands?
Good job on guessing the Initial Entry inspiration!
As for the TobiKomi Logo, not quite! It's the last few notes of the melody Mickey whistles in "Steamboat Willie". I used it because it appears in the Walt Disney Animation Studios intro, so it's clearly very important to their legacy.
@@levir.starsmusic I'm tempted to use it in my game honestly, maybe as a little sound after you enter your initials for a high score
@@125scratch2 go ahead 👍
@@levir.starsmusic i'll have to see if it sounds good in that context, feel like it might
@@125scratch2 did Steamboat Willie entering the public domain have any influence on this decision lol
I need an MP3 with all the music in it.

How did you make that TobiKomi sound did you find it from something or did you make it yourself
I took the last few notes of Mickey's whistling from Steamboat Willie, put them in the triangle channel, and sped it up
That’s actually really cool I slowed it down and I heard it
Careful...Disney might eff up your crap!!
Dont worry disney dont mind these type of videos
im worried about them taking action against my game lol..... but i dont really want to retheme it, and im also not selling it
