    Thank you for being so open and honest about your experience. This is a very nerve wrecking time and process. I have worked in industry and with charities and various things. It is still a scary thought that someone will look at you and say you're not good enough or judge you on past mistakes. You have made me more relaxed and hopeful that it is possible. I shouldn't sideline my aspirations. Thank you very much.

    Three years after undergrad? Wow, girl, you were so determined, it is beyond inspiring. Honestly, I was giving up on applying abroad with my 3.3 gpa and no research experience and didn’t even think of waiting another year. Even one year-gap seemed crazy for me. I guess I’m gonna think now whether I should wait another year or just apply to a local university where I can get into more or less easily this year.

    When you talked about being afraid of talking to your school professors, it really touched me, I'm in a similar situation, I'm a senior undergraduate with a bad GPA and no relations with my school professors, sometimes I'm even scared to raise my hand in class to ask questions, and my mind would say, oh now they gonna ask you what is your GPA in front of the whole class and you will look very stupid. but actually, after hearing you I'm more encouraged to go talk to them and to also take research more seriously, now I see it could compensate for my grade a little.
    Thank you so much for sharing, I really like your videos and wish you all the luck with your visa 🥰

      Aww thank you so much for your kind comment, truly appreciate it 🥰 Yess, profs do seem intimidating haha, but don't be scared! They probably came across so many struggling students so we are not the only ones (I hope I live by my words once I start grad school, easier said than done for sure). Best wishes to you and keep me posted if ever decide to take the grad school route!!

    My scores are quite average (about 3.1 Gpa), but I have ok GRE and toefl scores ( GRE 169 Q, 163 V), Toefl (108-30 R, 30 L, 27 W, 21 S). I also have 1 year of experience in relevant feild. I have also applied for Grad. School this year. I am getting really nervous now. Your videos have helped me a lot in Calming my anxiety.

    I am in the process of applying to grad schools. Similar situation as you but just that I don't have any research publication. Having said this, I currently work as a part of an economic research team as a data analyst and have worked on multiple deep dive analyses and also recently was recognized with an organizational award for my performance. This video was very encouraging, thanks for taking the time and sharing positivity : )

    Thank you very much for doing this video; I'm an International Student and I want to pursue a Ph.D. in the US, but I was really nervous about the whole process -- I did research as an undergrad but overall, I wasn't sure if that was enough to make my application stand among others. I will follow your advice, I'm thinking of waiting a year (I just graduated last December) to order my ideas, search for Universities, gain some experience, and be clear about the goals that I want to reach while doing research. I'll stay positive about the future, hoping that everything goes well. Thank you again, this was very helpful, really!

    Hi, Thanks for sharing the tips! I just wanted to know if a GRE score of 300-305 should be submitted ( where GRE is optional) if you have an average GPA between 3-3.5.

    • @zoonpolitikon1648
      @zoonpolitikon1648 Рік тому +2

      Don't. If your GPA is not that good you want to submit a higher GRE score. Depending on your program and how your GRE quant and verbal split it sounds like you are around 50th percentile. I guess it also depends on the program.

    Thank you for your sharring, I am an Indonesian student who currently wanna apply to grad school in the US such as Stanford or Cornell. I am a geophysical engineering student of Bandung Institute of Technology. I have bad GPA around 3.45-3.55, but I have a lot of award and achievements outside classroom (estimation 15 national n international awards, mostly from competition) and some cool research project with my lectures about the lastest topic in geophysics. Also, I have 4 publications international and national. But, I have done my research about how to get into Cornell and they selective candidate with average GPA 3.8. Do you think I still have a chance to go to Stanford and Cornell?

    Hey!! I am in the process of applying to grad schools and I have doubts about the GRE. Even if its optional, what is the impact of that test from a person who has 3.4 GPA? I'm really worried about the time....as a international student who's studying for toefl, finishing the bachelor and working 😢

      Hii, sorry for the late reply! In terms of GRE, I would say still take it (if possible) even though it’s optional and try your best to get a good score. I think you will have a good chance to get in with a good GRE score and a 3.4 GPA!

    Hi, I hope you still answering comments in this video, I wanna ask about how did you do your research outside of academia. From your explanation, I assume you did your research after you graduated (when you work and did some project beside job)? Or you published research during your study? If the first one is the case, could you tell me how you managed to contact the researcher and publish papers together?

    • @findingmoments
      @findingmoments  Рік тому +2

      Heyy, sorry for the late reply! I actually did research both during my undergrad and post-undergrad.
      I'm planning on making a video about my research experience soon, hope that will help!
