And a piece of meat i remember leaving the Saturn on for days on to get enough hour to unlock it and having to turn it on and off so many times that i was afraid it would stop working to unlock the other one 😂
3:55 The point of VF Kids is that it was made for the Sega Titan Video Game System and served as a cheaper alternative to buying a Sega Model 2 with Virtua Fighter 2.
@Lance Agripa Brawlhalla is literally only good because it’s the only way you can say the sentence “Macho Man Randy Savage just bludgeoned the entire cast of Steven Universe to death” without looking like a lunatic
Agreed. VF3 is hugely under appreciated, and I think it will always be my favourite game in the series. Partly because it tried something different and partly because of the excellent memories I have of losing nights playing it with mates on the Dreamcast. I’d give anything for a HD remake, but it will never happen.
Personally, I found the lighting of the characters in VF3 horrifying at times and for best looking launch games on Dreamcast, Soul Calibur beat the ever loving hell out of it, and I'm comparing Dreamcast Soul Calibur to Model 3 VF3 even. Then again, I've always considered VF3 a bit of a black sheep and could never fully get into it, I much prefer VF2 and VF4:Evolution by comparison. But I will admit seeing VF3 in the arcades in 1996 wowed me completely, once again being shown a level of video game graphics I didn't think was possible at the time.
Virtua Fighter 3 was the most graphically mindblowing game ever released (with respect to the time ofnits rekease). No other game has ever looked that good at release, including Crysis.
Sega needs to remake Fighters Megamix, but only focus on the Virtua Fighter, Fighting Vipers and Last Bronx characters. For those, who have never heard of Last Bronx, it was a weapons based fighting game involving street gangs.
@AT Productions The game needs to be built off known Sega fighting games first, not silly stuff to fill slots like the original. Save Sonic characters for Smash.
Max showing of that Sega Saturn collection again! 🤣 Jokes aside, these are amongst unique fighters around. I mean, they made a NASCAR CAR, not the driver, THE CAR ITSELF, A CHARACTER....
Fighters Megamix was the first fighting game i ever played... i used to unlock everything, then delete the save file then unlock everything over and over again must have put 200+ hours into that back in the day over the course of a few years. .....the soundtrack was awesome.
4:08 and it worked! When I was 4 or 5 years old, this was my favorite version of Virtua Fighter lol! I have always wanted to replay this game, but shortly after I turned 6 years old, our house was robbed and they took our Sega Saturn with VFK in it. I was devastated! I honestly think the title for this game should have been Virtua Figher Chibis instead of Kids, considering Shun and Lau.
Virtua Fighter Kids should have been its own VF spinoff game series. I remember years ago, MANY years ago, I saw versions of the VF Kids characters if they wore the outfits from Virtua Fighter 3. There was even Aoi as a 'kid'.
The character designs in VF Kids are based on claw machine toys for the VF cast that were popular in Japan. Alongside that, the game seems to have been made so that arcades could buy cheaper VF2 cabinets, as Kids runs on the Saturn-based STV hardware while VF2 runs on the more expensive Model 2 hardware.
Aside the LOL moments of 10:49, 14:52, 16:26, and 18:15, there was also their reaction of Pai getting KOed by Aoi's slap grab during their VF3 segment.
It would be interesting if the chibi characters could use "cartoon attacks" just like on CAPCOM's Pocket Fighter Mini Mix or SNK's Gals Fighters (NeoGeo Pocket Color).
Gotta love SEGA's efforts at branded marketing stunts. Released as a promotional tie in with 'Java Tea' in Japan, SEGA went full on with VF:Kids and used the Saturn VF2 engine to create this novelty of a fighter, releasing in Arcades on the ST-V board, showing it was targeting Saturn home release from the get go. Then there is the branded tie in in the Japanese release of Fighters Megamix with, lets say it together now, PEPSI MAN! Also, I get why Max would include Fighters Megamix considering the inclusion of VF characters, but it's fundamentally a Fighting Vipers game by virtue of it's gameplay differences and the engine it uses.
Fighters Megamix was better than VF3 on the Dreamcast or the arcade. Yeah, the backgrounds were better in VF3, and the resolution was higher- but the lighting, backgrounds and character models in Megamix were really good for the time, and it had all of the moves from VF3 plus a ton of characters, stages, and variety. By the time I played VF3 on the Dreamcast, it felt old hat, as good as it was. By the time I played VF3 in the arcade, I’d unlocked all of Megamix- I beat the arcade game on my first try, and never played it again. Now I really want to play Megamix again!
To anyone who doesnt know.... If you play this game long enough, you can actually play as a piece of meat..... Sega had way too much fun with this game XD
Yes! Jojo time! ... Kidding aside, I think I preferred Fighting Vipers to Virtua Fighter. At least, back in the day. I really loved Fighters Megamix as well. :)
this whole vf legacy will be remembered by the words "Bitch, I'm wild"
But in a good way!
“Daddy I’m wild” made me laugh so hard
Everyone remembers the racecar, but we all forget a literal palm tree was playable as well. It was so wild you got amnesia just looking at it.
it's their logo at least
And a piece of meat i remember leaving the Saturn on for days on to get enough hour to unlock it and having to turn it on and off so many times that i was afraid it would stop working to unlock the other one 😂
It so cool, I didn’t know you can play as a palm tree 😂
3:55 The point of VF Kids is that it was made for the Sega Titan Video Game System and served as a cheaper alternative to buying a Sega Model 2 with Virtua Fighter 2.
Daytona car is up there with Cloud in Smash and Negan in Tekken as one of the greatest and unexpected guest character additions in fighting games
@Lance Agripa Brawlhalla is literally only good because it’s the only way you can say the sentence “Macho Man Randy Savage just bludgeoned the entire cast of Steven Universe to death” without looking like a lunatic
The box art Mega Man has to be an honorable mention.
Also Snake and Sonic in Smash Bros Brawl, it was huge.
@Lance Agripa and now Akira from rival schools in street fighter
Cloud in Smash was that character until Minecraft Steve, no one expected the Minecraft in Smash meme to be real
"The weirdest game in the franchise"
Virtua Quest would like a word with you
You don’t give VF3 enough credit. It blew everybody’s minds graphics wise when it was released and even on DC it was one of the best looking games.
Agreed. VF3 is hugely under appreciated, and I think it will always be my favourite game in the series. Partly because it tried something different and partly because of the excellent memories I have of losing nights playing it with mates on the Dreamcast. I’d give anything for a HD remake, but it will never happen.
Edited to say VF3, not VF2! D’oh
Personally, I found the lighting of the characters in VF3 horrifying at times and for best looking launch games on Dreamcast, Soul Calibur beat the ever loving hell out of it, and I'm comparing Dreamcast Soul Calibur to Model 3 VF3 even. Low-key Virtua Fighters kids is the hypest of the 90's VFs I've seen
Fun fact: Virtua Fighter Kids was made to give AM2 devs expression practice for the making of Virtua Fighter 3
Virtua Fighter 3 was the most graphically mindblowing game ever released (with respect to the time ofnits rekease). No other game has ever looked that good at release, including Crysis.
16:34 Terry bogard in virtua fighter? WHAT KIND OF TIMELINE I WAS IN!?
Sega needs to remake Fighters Megamix, but only focus on the Virtua Fighter, Fighting Vipers and Last Bronx characters. For those, who have never heard of Last Bronx, it was a weapons based fighting game involving street gangs.
@AT Productions but you know damn well Kiryu's not gonna be in it.
@AT Productions The game needs to be built off known Sega fighting games first, not silly stuff to fill slots like the original. Save Sonic characters for Smash.
I'm sure they would exactly that and they try to sell you the rest of secret characters as DLC 😂
You know Fighters Megamix is a great game when it haves a car, Jotaro and young Max!
*skinny cody travers
Hope to see Last Bronx and Fighters Megamix in future lives!
I was obsessed with Last Bronx when I was maybe 12 or 13? Loved that game! I had a thing for the overt Yakuza guy, Kurosawa 😂
Max showing of that Sega Saturn collection again! 🤣
Jokes aside, these are amongst unique fighters around. I mean, they made a NASCAR CAR, not the driver, THE CAR ITSELF, A CHARACTER....
All those crazy characters without microtransactions or even dlc.
16:10 is so funny to me 🤣
Max just says "RUNNIN" lmaooo
i’ve seen that car fighter in passing and always assumed the game was corrupted or modded or something. now i know better.
With this legacy I hope this'll give us vf6 .
Or another vf5.
Sega: "You guys want another Virtua Fighter-
VF Fans: "Yeah!!"
Sega: "5?"
VF Fans: :(
ROLLLLLING STAAAAAAAAAAAAART. Need to mess around with VF Kids once the MODE I got for christmas is ready.
The animated textures were a really big deal at the time
Fighters Megamix is one of the greatest fighters of all time. It’s such a shame they’ve never been able to re-release it.
Hopefully emulators can give it a good HD facelift and smooth the graphics
More Fighters Megamix!
Somewhere out there, there was some kid growing up in a lonely Okinawan town and VF Kids was their favorite game ever...
I miss when games did this and just added crazy characters that make 0 sense
Fighter’s mega mix is the game that got me want a Saturn!
@16:24
Siba is actually a cut character from the first Virtua Fighter
VF3 still my fave in the series, I wish we could get a re-release or VF6 could bring the uneven stages back.
You're not alone bruh. They were the best part of the game
Fighters megamix was cool in my head
Mann i love the characters in Fighting Vipers more than Virtua Fighters. And the video end perfectly with that finishing lol!
Not gonna lie if I had a top ten list of games with great graphics virtua fighter 3 would be on that list!
13:47
The Palm Tree is the logo of Sega AM2
still have my copy of fighters megamix, what a classic lol
Fighters Megamix was the first fighting game i ever played... i used to unlock everything, then delete the save file then unlock everything over and over again must have put 200+ hours into that back in the day over the course of a few years. .....the soundtrack was awesome.

Also... I absolutely LOVED Fighter Megamix lol. I still have that game.
i actually kinda like the flower win icons and the portraits in VF Kids
Rent-A-Hero has a Powa Wave!
R.I.P Kage and Pai Chan 😩🥺🥺🤣

Me: 1-877-kars-4kids donate your car today!
In other news: rent a hero guy gets murdered by SEGA's version of Mega Man Legends
Virtua Fighter Kids should have been its own VF spinoff game series.
I remember years ago, MANY years ago, I saw versions of the VF Kids characters if they wore the outfits from Virtua Fighter 3. There was even Aoi as a 'kid'.
I never clicked so fast in my life
yeah
That's not what she said.
Yoir life sad
I still have my original VF3tb JP for Dreamcast in the case along with the included tech demo for Shenmue
Megamix..oh man my 90s nostalgia🤓
*Children Fighting. HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!!! Mom with wooden spoon!*
"this is the brawl of fighting games"
Fighters megamix the weirdest sega crossover ever
Wild
All the Sonic the Fighters characters should be added to Smash or come back in some way. They were great designs.
Aside the LOL moments of 10:49, 14:52, 16:26, and 18:15, there was also their reaction of Pai getting KOed by Aoi's slap grab during their VF3 segment.
The weirdest thing about VF Kids is that it's one of, if not the only game in the series to have character endings
Fun fact: Shun Di's kid isn't actually a kid, he's just Shun Di's brother who has dwarfism.
It would be interesting if the chibi characters could use "cartoon attacks" just like on CAPCOM's Pocket Fighter Mini Mix or SNK's Gals Fighters (NeoGeo Pocket Color).
That was a fun intro

kage in vf3 isnt wearing a mask he just painted his face like that
Virtua Fighter was the only game I had on my Sega Saturn for years. One time I had the chance to pick a game. I picked Virtua Fighter Kids.
Fighters Megamix is literally a fever dream
VF3 and Fighters Megamix are quality games just for all the new experimental goofiness and attention to detail.
I yearn for the day the Daytona U.S.A car will be playable in another fighting game.
I guess Megamix Palm Tree was where Sakurai got the idea for Piranha Plant.
Please, please play some Last Bronx. That game needs some attention
Fighters Megamix was better than VF3 on the Dreamcast or the arcade. Now I really want to play Megamix again!
Ah. A fever dream immediately. Plz continue.
This game came out in 96 so the graphics for it's time were amazing.
Virtua fighter 3 is undderated
I’M WILD!
JEFFERY
This is the game I bought with my Saturn! Lol
Love these VF vids
To anyone who doesnt know.... If you play this game long enough, you can actually play as a piece of meat..... Sega had way too much fun with this game XD
Fighting Viper feels like an Over the Top Virtua Fighter Spinoff to me.
Mr. McMuscles! You've been called out by Max and the gang! What are you going to do about it?
1:47 Kenny sounds like Towlie from South Park.
DOA took the Uneven Plain as it's Identity.
Fighters Megamix is the best! (Together with SoulCalibur) Megamix is more fun with friends because of the many good and crazy fighters!
Pretty crazy to see Deku from My Hero Academia in a Virtua Fighter game.
Rentahero = Cyborg Terry Bogard
You know what? Forget all other guest characters. Hornet for Smash Ultimate!
It's about time a CAR should debut as a playable character since Megamix.
Yes! Jojo time!
...
Kidding aside, I think I preferred Fighting Vipers to Virtua Fighter. At least, back in the day. I really loved Fighters Megamix as well. :)
Good times
4:25 literally all i clicked on this video for lol
Disappointed that no one tried Janet to counter Rentahero, her back + forward + punch makes her pull out her gun
OH MY CAR!

Fighters Megamix before smash formula was popular
Drunken baby martial arts are real here
Everyone came here for car
