Very similar, nearly identical experience of teaching in the UAE. I too am from the USA and I teach right outside of Dubai. I don't plan on returning after this year, this is my 3rd year and Kuwait has been suggested to me by colleagues. I'm still leaning towards going back to the USA but I'm leaving to door partially open for now. Reason for me leaving is.....well let's talk about that offline. Thanks for the video.

Hey love. So far Kuwait has been pretty good to me. For the most part the people here are kind but you do have some that have the sense of entitlement. It is a dry country so there is no legal alcohol here and there are no bars and clubs. But there are other things to do and events are always being held. Overall it is very safe and as long as you come with a positive mindset then you should be good.

Aww thank you. I make it a point to spend time with God daily. I wake up and do praise and worship before work and then before I go to bed I read my Bible and talk with God and pray. Christianity is allowed in kuwait and in fact there are a few Christian churches here that are open legally. The thing is, you can’t try to change others religion here or talk badly about their religion. But other than that you are free to whatever religion you choose to my knowledge. I even have some students who are Christians in my class. I think if you desire to be closer to God, you can do so wherever you are in the world 💛

In terms of safety for black people in America don’t forget to mention the police brutality and gun violence and school shooting and all the crazy things that happen in America. As a Brits who lives in America it always shocks me when people say how can you move to the Middle East is it dangerous 🤦🏾♀️ I can go to a grocery store or a mall without first finding where the nearest exit is incase there’s a crazy person with a gun. Hey love. I came with 3 suitcases. I packed the essentials (toiletries, work clothes, and other small items I couldn’t live without) and basically that was it. My flight included a carry-on and 2 checked bags so I didn’t have to pay for luggage just overages since one was overweight. I also had a box or 2 shipped to one of my friends who was already here. But there are tons of shopping companies that you can use to get your stuff here. And also, you can find the majority of the things you use on a day to day basis here so there’s really no need to overpack per say.

Hey love. Home country experience does matter in some cases. For example, some schools want native English speaking teachers and will typically hire candidates from the US or UK. BUT there are plenty that don't care. A lot of schools will hire fresh graduates and they actually welcome them here. Because it's international, there is a high turnover rate so schools are constantly hiring. So you can apply year round.
That’s a very general question. If you’re asking in regards to teaching, the starting salary usually ranges from 750KD-1100KD. It depends on the school and your experience. And please know that this is a normal range and schools can offer higher or lower salaries.
