So at the end of the day, this isn’t a jab at MJ and I don’t see the whole problem with what he said, plus Jordan doesn’t care about people’s comments
Yeah this video is kind of weird. I don’t think Tim Duncan was going after MJ saying he didn’t like him. Respecting someone’s ability and liking them are two different matters. Plus MJ really didn’t care if people liked him
I like how Jordan laughs when they tell him that someone doesn't like him or his game. He's a real sport because Jordan knows that's the closest they will get to hurt him.
Remember this was back then when they actually played defence. On the same physical condition and on a similar "off night" would probably stick 40+ on the best defense of today's game.
Yo MJ is competitive with everyone all the same weather they show love to him or hate to him. Tim Duncan wasn’t the only one who felt that way about MJ back then, there was a lot of players who hated that praise MJ was getting. MJ was a savage to everyone even his own teammates
That part was edited they threw in Tim Duncans voice over the original audio from the last dance documentary because that wasn't in the last dance I didn't see Tim Duncan say that.
Timmy was once interviewed and was asked about what he thinks about a certain player, he eventually said something but the face of report was not satisfied with Duncan's answer, so Timmy said what? As a UNC fan I have been a Jordan fan since Carolina's 1981-1982 season and there NCAA championship. If anyone else said what Tim said I'd consider them as a hater but Tim I think was just responding to the question he was asked and he just gave his honest opinion. I can respect that.
Jordan saw himself as dominant over anyone else on the floor. Nobody could fk w him, that's how he thought. He looked at other NBA guys as kids and he was the adult. An extremeeee level of confidence and belief combined with an insane desire to stand above.
Seeing that score of 73-73 at the end of regulation of the first game brought back fond memories of the days of defense. I miss the days of Spurs holding teams under 80 points
No defense, just poor shooting. Players today can shoot a lot better and there are more of them on a roster. Add in more 3pt attempts and scores today are a lot higher.
@@richb1653 I won't say poor shooting. But I do agree that the higher scores are from more 3pt attempts versus points in the paint. Most offenses back then were built off of big men who dominated in the paint and kicked it out to the 3 pt line as alternate offensive option on the play. Also, half court sets that ran up the shot clock was more prevalent then, opposed to now where teams are averaging more possessions because they are shooting quicker in the shot clock, all started by D'Antoni's 7-second offense. However, SAS could lock down even the teams with sharp shooters.
@richb1653s scores were low in the late 90s and early 2000s cause the pace slowed down cause teams started emphasizing defense since they would copy the play style of the team that was winning which was the bulls

Tim Duncan was a psychology major at Wake Forest and graduated with honors. His thesis paper titled "Blowhards, Snobs and Narcissists: Interpersonal Reactions to Excessive Egotism." Is a good read and you can understand where he’s coming from. It’s his personality, he’s turned off by egos and narcissism
Not only that, micheal jordan is high functioning anti social personality disorder, yet unlike jon jones, his entire legacy is unwavered and very well constructed aside from the few who know about his past with gambling, micheal is what jon jones couldve been, and tim duncan is the only INTP in the NBA whom thinks abstract and relates to the world rather then someone whom is grounded in reality trying to thinj abstract, his psychological awareness clearly spots out micheal jordans sociopathy and he withdraws and dislikes, its a form of defense against narcissism called selective mutism, in which someone whom calls a sociopath out will only be initating a game whilist being mute and disliking them doesnt initiate any interaction yet lets them know they cant charm the person in selective mutism, Tim Duncan is the True Goat and the arguement for that is Kobe and Shaq, Tim won more and kinda stole from Micheal jordans later career as he couldnt get a 7th ring, tim duncan wouldve had 10 if not for kobe and shaq breakin the offense.
If Jordan met Duncan in the 1999 Finals - Bulls would defeat Spurs in a 4 game sweep 🧹 (maybe 5 games ) and Jordan would get his 7th title I doubt it would go 6 games imo

If the Jerrys hadn't broken up the Bulls, they could have repeated in the strike-shortened 1999 season. It didn't even start until February. Lots of time off for tired legs.
If it weren’t for Krause, the bulls would have been back. That is a team you keep together until it doesn’t work.

Why Tim Duncan give Richard Jefferson the “ do sumn “ face 😂😂😂
Timmy just isnt impressed with anybody
Tim Duncan is already well on his way to being forgotten.
Win Winfield lmfao. Imagine thinking this
joh nypotapov I doubt that’s it lol like many said he was a swimmer FIRST before basketball
Win Winfield now tf could you say that man. Tim Duncan is considered one of the best bigs of all time.
Kai Hamasaki *Best PF of All Time
Add to the list Jordan’s ability to motivate his teammates.
All players feared jordan even the coaches
David Robinson is the reason there close Robinson. Always hated Jordan and felt that he got the foul calls from the ref
1st, excellent narration. 2nd, TD was creating his own path to greatness...we all as humans define greatness in our own way. Very macho to take shots like that to a person who literally transformed the game by his electrifying gameplay. He simply just wasn’t as impressed as we were. And 3rd, TD, even though is fundamentally sound in basketball, wouldn’t have won a title against Black Cat. A person that is as vengeful as MJ...(insert MJ laugh sound bite here)💯🔥
Black Cat!?!
Manufan909 1 yeah...if ur a Jordan aficionado like myself...you’d know. There are plenty of vids with that reference. I don’t know if you saw the documentary on Jordan entitled “The Last Dance”. Reggie Miller refers to him in that manner because his prowess and agility.
J G (Insert MJ laugh sound bite here)
Idk man, the bulls had no interior defense and the Spurs had the twin towers in 99. I think that if the bulls had stayed together in 99 it would have been an incredibly tough series. The bulls were getting old and the spurs were young, I think it would have been a 7 game series at least for the bulls to win, otherwise I would have my money on the spurs
Danny Ford I do agree with the majority of your statement. But I’d still take Bulls over Spurs
Tim Duncan & James Worthy are probably 2 of the most unassuming players ever. I think Tim was just expressing that he was always more interested in the team being praised instead of individuals. That’s the way he played & I think that’s the way he thought
Huh?? James Worthy? Sure, he was by no means arrogant or cocky, but he's no different than many other players of today and yesterday. If you want to talk "unassuming", I'd say that Duncan and Kawhi are the 2 most unassuming players of all time.
I think Tim Duncan didn't like a grown man (Jordan) crying about Isaiah Thomas and The Detroit Pistons.
Could you imagine Mike and Timmy playing on the same team?
Worthy knew MJ was going to be the man since their UNC days.
@@martyemmons1859 When was Jordan crying about Isiah Thomas? I think you have him confused with Scottie Pippen
Just remember guys
73-73 going into overtime and this man averaged 30ppg for his career
remember jordon got mvp 1998 before he retired .. he still dominat1999 final
The MJ laugh edit at the end tho lol
If the Jerrys hadn't broken up the Bulls, they could have repeated in the strike-shortened 1999 season. It didn't even start until February. Lots of time off for tired legs.
@Jay Son Krause had alienated everyone on the team by then. By 1998, even everyone in the media was openly questioning why Reinsdorf didn't fire him.
If it weren’t for Krause, the bulls would have been back. That is a team you keep together until it doesn’t work. Phil knew this, everyone knew this, it was a tragic move not allowing this team to run its course. Another ring or two was definitely more than possible. Bulls haven’t been back to the finals since.. way to go Jerry and Jerry
KeepingUp WithTheAncestors bulls 72-10 season and 6 rings in 7 or 8 years holds true. Never would the bulls have lost to the spurs. The spurs may have beaten the jazz to play chicago in the finals but the result still would have been the same had the bulls remained intact to play another year or two. = another ring or two. Which would have given the bulls a few more rings than Duncan and the spurs.
That year was bogus
Called defense. Something not played today
Duncan probably heard what was revealed on last dance about Jordan being a creep with teammates. Once he got to the NBA of course.
That's what you're supposed to say back in the day everyone hated each other. Nowadays everyone is buddies, soft if you ask me.
Tim Duncan: “I’m not impressed by Jordan”. MJ: “😂” Popovich: “😱😡”
Lol😂
THIS! 😂😂👍🏼💯
He better be glad mike retired, the spurs would only have 4 titles, which is still good. With duncan talking like that, and mike found out about it,that would have been all the motivation Jordan needed,he would have made a believer out of tim, lol.
@@stargellwilliams1311 True that.. Timmy's great, but he would have joined the club of great ones, that learned a hard lesson.. Don't give MJ any fuel, that he can later use to cremate you with...
@@stargellwilliams1311 I don't think the bulls beat the 99 spurs. The bulls never played a team in the finals with a legitimate big man. The best being Vlade Divac and Kevin Duckworth.
