Yep. I'd never heard "It's Shoved" until this video. And that was immediately what I thought of. I googled it to see if others had noticed the similarities. Buzz from The Melvins has even talked about it.
Im glad that this guy didn't just do bass lines from the big four (Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, pearl jam) but on that note I wish he had done Jesus Christ Pose by Soundgarden. Regardless, Great video!
@@bloxsy_Why Go, and State of Love and Trust are great “grungy” basslines from PJ! Once by PJ is literally the bassline where Silverchair’s Israel’s son came from! PJ’s Go is good too!
I have a strange thing with playing the bass. I am left handed but play bass right handed however I can't play with a pick only my fingers. If I play with a pick I have to play left handed.
“It’s Shoved” is also “Milk It,” a total two for one!
“It’s Shoved” reminds me of “Milk It”. Good job as always Bloxsy!
I thought so too

They're both sick riffs like
it’s shoved came first
I LOVE SILVERCHAIR, especially because I used to live near Newcastle in Australia so I'm glad it's first on the list
Yeah I wish they were still playing.
I wasn’t expecting Hairspray Queen but I’m so happy it was included, that intro (and the rest of the song) is so wacky it’s borderline unsettling
Would, rotten apple, and rain when I die are all masterclass bass lines.
I’m so happy to see Skin Yard!
Melvins,Nirvana,L7,Alice in Chains...
Only the GRUNGIEST BANDS TO EVER GRUNGE ❤👊🔥
Nirvana,L7 and TAD are my favorites but this whole list is amazing ❤♥
Glad to see "Slaves & Bulldozers," one of the top 5 Soundgarden tracks for me. Great live tune, reminds me of the slower Stooges songs ("Dirt," etc.)
Im glad that this guy didn't just do bass lines from the big four (Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, pearl jam) but on that note I wish he had done Jesus Christ Pose by Soundgarden. Regardless, Great video!
Thanks. Yeah how could I forget that one!
"Jeremy" of Pearl Jam have an amazing bass intro
It is great but didn't have the grungey vibe I was going for.
@@bloxsy_Why Go, and State of Love and Trust are great “grungy” basslines from PJ! Once by PJ is literally the bassline where Silverchair’s Israel’s son came from! PJ’s Go is good too!
L7's basslines are so good!!
You forgot lounge act, that bass is something
Yeah I was gonna say that
Lounge act is amazing
Alice In ChainsのRotten Appleは今月で30周年になるが古くなることはありません。
Just been getting into bass myself. Got a Harley Benton JB20 lent to me, which sounds actually good.
Awesome list!
Local H - Back in the Day
Toadies - Motivational
Verbena - Baby Got Shot
Back in the Day is one of the hardest riffs of the 90s, love to see it recognized. Absolute banger
OMG SILVERCHAIR 💚 but all the list it's great, love grunge. Thank you, Bloxsy 😁
Blew riff really blew my mind 🔥❤️
For some reason "Israel's Son"s bassline reminds me of "Come Together" bassline
Yeah I never thought of that before. It’s quite similar
Thanks for Slow Runner!
And the rest of the video too. Lol.
killer bass tone here
Kick ass bass and tone!
First thought that popped into my head was " I wonder if it'll have that Tad song?". Sure enough.
I used to jam to that all the time....
the best grunge channel in the world
Finally someone talks about that Silverchair's intro 🗣🔥🔥
Nice content man, subscribed!
Thanks very much!
"Would" was the first song that came to my mind when I saw the title of the video
its more of a noise rock / shoegaze song but "i dont wanna think" by burrrn has a GRUNGY bassline
I'd also say Knot by 7 Year Bitch, or Icy Blue. Matter of fact, any 7yb song. Elizabeth Davis is one of the most underrated bassists ever
New God, Tunnel of Love, and P.C.C. by Green River would've been great on here.
The title immediately sprung 'Love buzz' into mind, ngl
I love your bass tone!
Thank you!
Sweet tones!
I can't belive silverchair is soo underrated man!!
not really into grunge but rain when I die is really cool
HOLE SUPREMACY
I think I’d have to throw something by sunny day real estate in there!
My favorite grungy bass intro is probably Stone by AIC. So mean and sludgy
I have a strange thing with playing the bass. I am left handed but play bass right handed however I can't play with a pick only my fingers. If I play with a pick I have to play left handed.
How do you get that awesome tone?
GODDAMN how do u get that awesome bass tone?
I’m using a bass amp sim on GarageBand
@@bloxsy_ ohhhhh it sounds really cool
*YES*
Bloxsy I tried emailing back but it won’t work.
:/
The Breeders would like a word with you.
Grease Box!!!!! Great Riff csmre
Hey Blox! Lots of bass these days my friend. You coming over to ‘the low side’?
Hello! No I don't think so, guitar will always be the primary instrument for me.
I like it!!! deep and dirty lol
Lounge act 😅
Rotten apple - aic
Israel’s son -silverchair
Love buzz -nirvana
What bass is that? And what setup? :)
It's a Squier Classic Vibe P-bass. The sound is from an amp sim in GarageBand
💪😎🎸 KILLA 🎸👻
anyone know how to get this tone?
I'm using a bass amp sim on GarageBand. I couldn't say exactly what it's meant to be or how you'd get it. Also I'm using a Squier Classic Vibe P-Bass.
SILVERCHAIR MENTIONED AAAAAAAAA
Why sliver?😢
Buenos videos , buenas tocadas, y muy linda chaqueta, saludos desde Perú...y viva el Grunge !!!!
melvins's one sound like milk it
TAD got some rep!!!!
What bass it is?
It's a Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass :)
@@bloxsy_ very cool! Thanks
mike fuckin' starr
slaves and bulldozers is something out of this world, SOUNDGARDEN FOREVER
Deep cheers for hair spray queen. Creaziest nibbana songs ever
Crazy indeed. I don't even think I'm playing it right here.
@@bloxsy_ you might not but it's still sounds ok
Headless bassists are the best
I can play the bass 🎸☺
Like deployed 👍
SKIN YARD WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Hole.
So-called grunge bands were stilistically more diverse than the "genre" suggests but their bass tone definitely wasn't.
grunge has bass?
