The closest thing we have would be the Olympics (in terms of Crossover) and Super Smash Bros. (in terms of fighting)

I just realized something, yeah, it always made sense Luigi could break out of the Tanooki stone form but I also just realized he could've also done that MID-FIGHT and save the trouble to lol

It's a real shame the original series ended here. I know we got a sneak part of episode 9, but still.
And it's even more of a shame that Basilix won't be in the reboot, from what I've heard.
Maybe replaced with someone cooler?

I heard from somewhere Basillix WILL be in the reboot, just not in the doomship offensive, in arc 2 or smthing I think.
It’s a shame that Shadow had to miss this epic fight but he had his own reasons to leave and back then, we had to respect his decision.
Probably a good thing he did miss this fight…Basilix would’ve turned him to stone…

I think this episode is one of the best in the series: fire sonic hammer Mario and most importantly Basilix such a badass
