Difference in geography is so interesting!
My wife and I moved here from Austin in 2013 for my career, and I was not looking forward to living here because we loved Austin. However, we ended up moving to Conroe, and we love it. I wouldn't go back to Austin for twice what I get paid now.
I just moved to Katy from Maryland last summer. Absolutely love it here and willl never go back. I don’t even want to go back to MD to visit 😂 the reason why wasn’t interested in the woodlands is because it looks like MD but with dead grass lol. Not interested in the same thing as I had before. I was very underwhelmed with the Woodlands. Katy feels different and the landscape is beautiful to me.
This is an interesting take! I actually love this perspective. So many people love the trees but I guess if you’re coming from somewhere that already had those a change is desired

I currently live in MoCo Maryland and I used to live in Dallas but I want to move back to Texas not sure if I want to move back to Dallas so I have been thinking about Houston. My only concerns are the drivers and the humid weather. Tell me how have you adjusted to the weather and drivers ?
@@thewordologistchannel4574 unfortunately I’ve lived here my whole life and both of those things never seem to get better. Don’t honk your horn unless you are warning a drive that’s not paying attention. Drive common routes you will need for work ahead of time when it’s not rush hour so you won’t be surprised by some pretty crazy exits and merges onto highways. June-Aug limit time outside as much as possible unfortunately.
It’s definitely my year!! My family and I plan on moving to Texas at the end of the year. I plan on visiting the area in a few months. ❤

Non houston ppl watching research where the chemical plants!! These are mostly south and SOUTHEAST! This is why the neighborhoods are cheaper and usually not as nice because it’s not sought out for. So yah environmental health would be a red flag 🚩 to look 👀 for!
I was also wondering if you could cover school districts in the areas you speak about. Or make a video about school districts and their rep. For example cyfair from the outside view seems like one of the best school districts to put your kids in. However it’s far from it. I would say it’s actually one of the worst.
I don’t know just a video of pros and cons of school districts would be amazing

I agree with Katy districts being the best. Cy-fair is pretty ghetto and not as academically advanced as Katy is. But an entire video on the school districts there would be great 👍😁

Regarding the Fort Bend County Appraisal District, you can forget about lowering your annual appraisal. I have hired and fired two companies that could not lower our appraisal meaningfully. It is the worst appraisal district in the Houston Area, so you better think twice about that before you buy a home in Fort Bend County. And, they are building houses in Fort Bend County like there is no tomorrow at "high" prices, which will be used against you by the appraisal district appraisers and the appraisal board. In fact, I spoke with a company representative who does property tax protests who lives a few miles from me in Fort Bend County and he could not even get his property tax appraisal reduced, so now you know.

Also. Katy has big blue skies and green grass. The woodlands has so much shade, the grass doesn’t grow as well or is often Brown. The skies also don’t seem as big there compared to Katy.
In term of investment, would you advice on which one is better comparing Katy to Cypress?

Looking for something elegant and traditional in Tanglewood. This is covering all of the far outskirts. Not in the market for school districts etc. I heard Tanglewood is wonderful location?
Tanglewood is lovely - gracious but convenient to many things you will want if you are the sort of buyer who can afford Tanglewood in the first place. Larger homes, nice restaurants, good shopping, large grocery stores. And you can skip the freeway if you want to get inside the Loop. The major wealth corridor runs E/W and that's where Tanglewood is. Upscale Houstonians (which you need to be in Tanglewood) generally divide themselves between Inner Loopers and others. What's great about Tanglewood is that it gives you a a balance, including proximity to dining, shopping, the freeway, etc. The Villages area is packed with impressive homes, by the way, if you want to see the level of wealth that exists in pockets of the Houston area. But you must always look at the Harvey flood map when you buy here. Even if someone tells you the area is fine. The Buffalo Bayou runs along Memorial Drive and there is a large urban park system running along the Bayou. I am more urban oriented so the Western side of the Inner Loop works better for me; I don't want a big yard and don't care about schools. But if I could afford it and needed the bigger home with a nice yard, I would be looking at Tanglewood. Just be aware that the traffic density around 10/610 is enormous and assume you will rely on San Felipe and Memorial and Voss and Chimney Rock to get around during peak traffic hours. If you want the best dining in the area it's going to inside the Loop - just take San Felipe and you're there pretty quickly. Best of luck to you in your search!
Do the communities closer to the coast catch more flooding? Ex sienna, pearland
No, proximity to the coast isn't an indicator of flooding. We have flood maps and can help you avoid any areas that flood.
Avoid places like Pearland, La Porte, deer Park, Pasadena, and Channelview! There are a lot of chemical plants surrounding these areas, and the environmental health impact is great on those living in the communities

Do all the communities have schools? And are they all gated?
Where is the lowest crime area?
I can’t answer that directly. I can say that I have always felt safe in all of the suburbs and neighborhoods that we have filmed videos on. I live in Conroe and have most of my life and don’t ever think about crime.
