Zain is just so good, it’s incredible. If you don’t look at career and just compare quality of play (not very fair cause only like peak Mango/Hungrybox/Armada compare to post pandemic top players), probably top 5 ever, I can’t imagine many more people beating him from any time.
Players can only beat him by learning to play him specifically. One of those players where knowing the matchup inside out does nothing. Cody and Moky are not miles apart in Skill level, but look at the difference between them both fighting Zain. And just to think of the matchups he has revolutionised. Marth - Yoshi, Marth - Puff, Marth - Pikachu, Marth - Fox, Marth - Sheik. Not sure that many other players (other than players who started the meta of a certain matchup itself). Can claim as many as this.
Yep I think he’s the cleanest player to do it honestly, it’s so weird to see him mess up because he’s usually always on point. I think the cleanest players of all time are Zain and Armada, you don’t see them mess up much and they both pushed both characters forward in a huge way. Even more than M2K, despite his optimal personality and setting a lot of what Marths do these days, still wasn’t the cleanest at execution & wasn’t willing to learn things like the pivot tipper (which Zain mastered)
He is absolutely the man to beat, and I would say top 5 ever for sure. It's also strange that almost every top player at the moment derives some of their current relevance in relation to Zain: Mang0 with that Summit win and the old Zain-Mang tier, Cody goes without saying, Leffen literally picking up a character for Zain specifically, Hbox going from being his demon to the script flipping completely, Jmook losing to him twice at Genesis only to beat him twice at GOML and win Genesis the next year, then having a phenomenal rivalry (with that beautiful moment of the "let's go Jmook, let's go Zain!" chant at Collision), and moky with their amazing friendship and narrative. The only proper top players I can't think of a Zain connection are Plup and Amsa.
@@Emil-Roma Zain got his first big scalp from Plup i believe? Even before Leffen. Amsa, i guess first marth to beat AMSA since (probably many many years) And first Marth to beat Axe pikachu?
@@Windraesa These all sound right, but I didn't touch on them because they are more defining moments for Zain. The ones I mentioned originally are current narratives that can't exist without Zain as a kind of goal or even demon (and more of a rivalry in the case of Cody nowadays, though before we all know how the record looked for Zain) for those players.
