  • I am hoping to replace a Farmall 706 and a White 2-85 with this one tractor, we will see how that works out.

We have always been international guys. We never owned a 756 diesel . Come close buying a gas. Father in law owned 756 diesel. Had trouble with it starting. Cold hearted. Once you got warmed up ran good. We owned 706 diesel for years with the glow plugs. Had good luck with it. Very easy on fuel.

We have had both in the family, for the first year or so we had trouble starting the 756 diesel, but after we discovered the 'start' position on the fuel shut-off, it started much better. If you pull the shutoff half-way it increases the fuel pressure, the same is true of my 826 with the 358 German engine. We remind new operators to 'choke' it to start.

My father bought a new 756 in the September of 1968 serial number 9264 so it made it a fairly early when, every time I see a 756 I have to check out the serial number LOL, you got yourself a damn good tractor

I always like the D310. I worked on one once. Always thought they sounded really good

@@frede5656 Yes but if you keep adding to the fleet, I’m going to have to stop over and reevaluate your inventory lol

I had one many moons ago. Excellent tough old tractors BUT when it come time to put money into that engine you might cuss it. Everything about that engine will cost almost twice the money over a 400 seris motor. Big problem is only 1 oring on the sleeves. I believe that motor would be a 30 to 40 thousand hour motor if not for that. We overhauled ours twice because of that. Made 9000 hrs 1st time, 2nd time i think it was around 11000. Ran it around 1500 hrs and sold it. It also had a turbo with around 90 hp. It was our go to rig. Just a nice little tractor. It spent app 250 hrs a year on a pto grain dryer plus all its other duties

@@craignepp524 l talked to the last owner when l picked it up, he just had the Case-IH dealer put o rings on the sleeves and they rolled rod and main bearings in at that time. It would have been a good time time to do sleeves and pistons as well but he chose not to. Considering my plans for light duty use l should be alright for many years to come. I am aware of the price of repairing that Robert Bosch injector pump versus the American Bosch on the 400 series (l own seven), given all this l am still happy with my purchase.
