Danke, bin auch froh, dass er sich wieder erholt hat. Nur innen hat er leider viele tote Triebe. Im Topf hat er wieder schlicht Rhododenron Erde bekommen, von Gardol ausm Bauhaus. Die habe ich bisher auch immer für meine Balkon Ahorne genommen. Weiß aber noch nicht, ob ich dabei bleibe. Bin nicht sicher, ob sie für manche Sorten nicht doch zu sauer ist. Leider weiß man ja nie, wenn ein Baum nicht so richtig will, ob es an der Erde selbst oder auch bzw. nur an zu viel Wasser liegt. Aktuell teste ich noch die Neudorff Neudohum Pflanzerde. Die ist wesentlich gröber und daher auch luftiger. Kann aber sonst noch kein Fazit ziehen. Zukünftig werde ich wohl auch immer noch etwas Blähton oder Lavamulch untermischen zur allgemein besseren Wurzelbelüftung.
Hi! With mildew I don't have any experience, sorry. Regarding leaf scorch, if you can move/transplant your Taylor also in a spot with more shade. Morning sun should be ok but from afternoon it should definitely be in the shade. In the container I am now using rhododendron soil again what my Taylor seems to like. At least it did recover well again.
@@Acerdorer Do you think misting the leaves would help or not? I have it in a shaded location and it’s in acidic soil with a ph of 5.5-6. It gets plenty of water due to there being lots of rain recently.
I never tried that so I cannot say if it would help. Are your leaves really scorched? Maybe the drainage is not good enough and the soil is constantly too wet then. Most of my maple losses were because of bad drainage, too much watering and low quality soil. If your tree looks really bad already I would check the roots and maybe pot it with different soil and good drainage. Hopefully it will also recover then.
@@Acerdorer I have checked the roots. They are fine and the soil is well drained with perlite. The tree has lost around half the leaves the remaining leaves look OK. Most of the Scorched leaves are on the bottom part of the small tree. It was growing is bit, but this powdery mildew attacks the new leaves that are trying to form.
Hmm okay, maybe it is then only due to the mildew. Probably I would also try to spray the affected parts then. Quick search tells me that fresh milk and baking powder could help but as I said I have no experience with mildew yet.
