The yellow is really gorgeous. Only its fall color was never that good.

Taylor is such a difficult maple to keep alive. How long have you been growing it? Did you buy the tree in large size or grown from small 3 Litre pot size?

And it is indeed struggling again now! I bought in 3l 2 years ago (you can see it in an older video also) and then it came in the ground at the pond in a very sunny spot but did not grow well. Then we took it out and put in a pot with rhododendron soil and in a spot with a lot of shade and it recovered really well. Last fall we put in back in the ground but again it starts to struggle. I think it really needs shade after morning. We will probably transplant it soon again then.

@@Acerdorer Good to know. Taylor can't take sun (burnt leaves), or too much rain (wet compost for too long causing root rot) or too cold/frost (die-backs). I am always amazed if people can keep it alive because most ended dead. It's nice to see yours still looking good (not bad still can be saved) and good luck to you.

Thank you! Yes, I already lost several maples because of overwatering and root rot. Now I am much more aware of good drainage, airy soil and less manual watering and I am still learning.
