I like the sound of the hammond the most - I am biased, but I usually find Hammond's to be a more interesting/at least prettier sound.

It is very colorful! Still haven't received the specs from Hammond but I'm interested in what exactly makes it like that. The shank is definitely lighter, especially proportionally compared to the cup, more than the other pieces.

They all sound very good and the only difference I can hear with headphones is the comparison of timbres and size of sounds. I don’t have a favourite. If I was looking to pick one, it would be the one that I liked playing the most regarding resistance etc.

Thanks so much for listening! What did you notice in terms of timbre and size, I'm curious! For resistance - the Romero and Griego Alessi have the least, but sometimes I like the focus that a little resistance gives as well - so for me it might end up being more contextual to the concert I'm about to play - I might use the Witser or Elliott for chamber playing, the Romero or Elliott for solo playing, and the Alessi 1D for second and the Laskey 55 for principal in the orchestra, for example.

@@WilliamLang Yes, what I think personally from what I hear on the recording is the Hammond witser , Romero and Elliott are more 5G like mouthpieces . It’s hard to put into words how I’d describe them, it’s hard to define what’s bright or which one has a thick sound etc. the Romero does sound thicker perhaps, maybe the witser is the smallest, the Elliott maybe more in between the others.
The 2 Alessi pieces are quite similar in how they play, even though the rim sizes are very different. I think the symphony is a little warmer that the 1D, but I also like the shine to the sound that you get on the 1D.
I think you could make any of them work as an all round piece, although I think on first the 1D might feel like hard work after a while.

Trying to find any info online about the witser mouthpiece. Is that sold anywhere?

Hammond Custom Design sells them - they did a video on the mouthpiece partly because people were asking based on these videos! instagram.com/reel/CxLX9S0gvhx/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
