Class written all over. Have reached only till 16:31 since 4 hrs. Will take my time. This is a great academic exercise, will connect the dots if I can, to see what is the under current all about. The understanding till this point: leads is chords and it’s around, melody is scales. The lead exploring in chords (scale) and around chords speaks clearly enough. This is not just a lesson. It is learner’s manual. 👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Glad to hear from you doctorji❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏 Rgd the intro, you are totally right - the solo and chord guitars, both gel so well and both turn out to be the leaders. Yes, please take your time. It's a very long video since i tried to show the usage of 1 special chord which is not used so often due to its tonality. 🙏🙏🙏
@ArunArvindMusic It’s not often that you can’t wait to appreciate the lesson even before you complete watching it. You know immediately that you have found gold. It is a treat to watch. Cannot thank you enough for sharing the beautiful insights. It’s sad that I missed this for 3 years. Thanks again!! Huge respect sir 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!!!😊😊🙏🙏❤️❤️ Same here, was tough to even purchase cassette / vinyl of that song in the past. Vividh bharati was the only place to listen to ghungroo ki awaaz.
This is first time that i have come across someone who has profound knowledge of chords...amazing..i don't have any formal training in guitar ..but i love to learn ..please also share the chords for aane wala pal..thanks
Too good Sir. Take a bow. I had to try and learn as much as I could on my own then take your whole lesson. And now I can understand how much great content you have provided. That sharp4 is also technically a flat5 and brings into picture a Dimnished scenario without the flat3. So that diminished taste is there. But this arrangement is clever. The G root is based on the understanding that D7 falls naturally in G scheme of things. But my query is that Bflat fall where the song has halted on important junction before jumping back to D7. The F again can’t be easily explained with the G as even with Myxo Lydian arrangement for F will not explain the 5th chord also major. So now to understand the mind of RD let’s see what he has done in another song like main chali or any other RD experiment. To me he just said to himself how do I get more chords in D with D7 to start it’s easy now make the 3rd flat and make it major you have your F-chord. Flatten the 6th and make it major get your Bflatmajor. Now we have explained D7 Flat3major flat6major. Now we have one more note available to flatten and make it a major chord that makes it flat2major the Bflat here.So far so good. A Bluesy setup already. Now the Gminor, Cminor thing in this setup flat7th make major would have stamped the Myxo Lydian feel which he wanted to avoid so made it minor and the G the 5th again not made major to avoid the conventional major feel and allow this peculiar sound to remain embedded in listeners mind and not let it go towards the more common major feel and a Myxo Lydian feel so not only were they avoided they were made minor chords such as to not live any scope of digression in listeners mind. That’s my take it might be all bakwas. But almost similar play is available in aise na mujhe tum dekho E7 to G. So who can understand Veda completely and who can dare to understand RD? None. Just a thought. 🙏🙏🙏 Thanks for the intensely deep lesson. 48 minutes of pure music.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Doctor Saab for the long write up.😊😊♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏 Will reply in brief. Major+4th# is the same as maj+flat5 though jazz theory usually doesn't repeat the numbers, major already has a 5th. So jazzists will use sharp 11 but in rock we use easier numbers and will say #4, #2 etc. Though the sound is quite different from a diminished. The key is G for this song imo and the loosely follows Gmin scale. So even with an F major, mixo lydian mode won't be felt unless the song were to loosely follow Gmaj scale. If you are taking D as the key, then with a Cmin of course mixo-l won't be experienced. Aise na mujhe Tum dekho is another terrific example of changes in keys (western) from E in mukhada to A in anatara. This pattern of shifting from Sa (E) and focussing on Ma (A) is common in Hindustani classical as these notes are usually vadi/samvadi, but still the shadaj is maintained, not changed. Ahir bhairav focuses so much on Ma, that one could think that it is the shadaj. But in aise na mujhe - RD has ventured to temporarily changed the sa to A in anatara and then taken us back to E. Some people might argue that in the anatara, E is still the shadaj but that is not true, if anatara is heard stand alone then there is no reference to E as sa, and to make it worse for the beginners - the anatara ends on Amin😅 He has used this key change technique many times - Tumne mujhe dekha and tere Bina jiya (Ghar) fall in that category😊😊
Thanks... your lectures are always very informative for person like me who just wants to play for own enjoyment without any knowledge of theory of music.. please keep teaching..
Thanks again Shailesh-ji 😊😊🙏 Yes i try to not talk much about theory as it's useful only if anybody wants to take exams. Most of us want to relax by playing!👍
One of the best guitar channel for Hindi songs across UA-cam 🙌🏻🙌🏻. There’s so much info and also there’s more if you could share the making of arrangements, mix effort timeline etc what it takes. There’s so much to learn from all that you are doing with one man orchestra in other videos. Can’t THANK YOU ENOUGH 🙏🙏🙏. And again it’s about the accuracy of the content that’s not easily found on UA-cam 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you so much Itwasnoteasy for the kind feedback ♥️♥️🙏🙏🙂🙂 My aim is to give as much correct info to aspiring guitarists and musicians as possible and help them progress or evolve in some ways. Playing guitar is easy initially but then needs lots of effort to improve further, people give up after a few years (or months). But if we explain the complexities of classic songs hopefully students will enjoy listening and be drawn to playing with a different perspective. It's obvious that you have a big desire to dive deeper into the field of music👍👍 Take care and hope to hear from you in the future as well😊♥️
Sir by any chance do you any video lesson for Hum kisi se Kum nahi Competition melody. I am very keen to learn all those songs. If not would appreciate if you can please make one whenever u get time.
Thanks for this wonderful video Arunji, it helped a lot because in the original song at times it is very difficult to understand the notes 🎶 because of the other instruments. Please help me with one chord, for me, when you play D7 at the beginning of the verse, it sounds perfectly alright but when I play I find it more comfortable with Dm (I may be 100% wrong) could you please check once again for me? Thanks
Thank you very much❤️😊🙏 You may want to develop an ear to identify major, minor and 7th chords, it takes years unfortunately. The original guitarist Bhanuda has shown the chords very quickly in a video, its available on youtube.
I am a professional guitarist since years but could not find the actual sequences, almost played the same chord but I was adding #4th note using open 1st E string and also using Dminor add9 in nut position, and could not find the right position of F7th chord..Thank you very much sir..

Yes, shadaj is G, we can say it loosely treads on Gmin key (same notes as that of D Phrygian) for some portions of the song but with multiple exceptions - most of the times D major chord is used instead of the theoretical Dmin👍
Hi Sir. Came across this video of yours. Lovely lesson as always. Also, got me really curious the scale topic, I as well think it's G-minor with exceptions of E(Komal Dha) and F#(Tivra Ni) if I am correct used which gives like 6 chromatics notes from D to G all used so beautifully
Thank you very much❤️❤️😊😊🙏 Yes the song is in Gmin key, with few additional notes. D7 is used in abundance, ignoring music theory D7 doesn’t provide resolution, that’s another way to look at it. This situation of different Sa altogether is also common for raag based songs - hame tumse pyaar kitna falls in the same category. Main chord is Amin but sa is E!
@@ArunArvindMusic Yes. Well mentioned. Humein tune Pyar kitna is raag bhairavi which is similar to the phrygian mode and hence same set of notes but root is E
