This playthrough is a huge help for learning solo play in spite of minor mistakes, thank you @heavycardboard

    Hi Ed,
Long time watched first time commenter, love the work you, Amanda and friends do.
(Sorry if you discover this later in the vid)
I believe when talk about placing neutral buildings is incorrect. P.9 of the rule book: first bullet point, second to last sentence states you can use tools to terraform when placing a neutral building.

I haven't watched one of your videos in quite a while, so I was very excited when I saw this one.
Great series of games, and with the Automa I can practice on my own before my hardcore fellow players annihilate me again, lol!
    Thank you as always!

I own but have never played Gaia Project. I have played Terra Mystica… I guess it is a theme thing.

Has anyone determined whether the placement and action combo around the 1 hour, 48 minute mark was in compliance with the rules?
    Thank you.

25:53 What if we already have Terra Mystica? This game is better in every way, correct? Would you get rid of Terra Mystica for this game? Or do you feel we could keep both?

Can you play a game with 2 automa players, to simulate a 3-player game? Thanks.

Is the palace setup different in solo? I thought you were supposed to keep the palace tiles seperate till you build it then you select which one you want.

This is correct. You pick one when you build. This guy gets it wrong.

1:17:43 Why is the building they just put down marked? In other words, why are buildings marked? Is this only an automa thing?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the playthrough.
BUT... I just hate it when people get rules wrong in those kinds of videos. You are forgetting to give the automa points each and every turn (well, not really every turn, but pretty close to it) when the X icon in the bottom of the action card shows up. The equation X+1 for the Cuddlers, is not so hard to figure out... The automa is still sitting on 21 points almost 2 hours into the video, even though it should have gotten 2 points after the first card it took.
Also, when taking that second innovation tile in round 4, shouldn't you pay an extra book for it? (as per stated to the left on your player board where you are supposed to store those tiles...)
think you shouldn't have been able to purchase that third book either, since it would have costed 2 more books (as indicated on your player board)
Appreciate your effort, but please, you got to get those things right before you perform a playthrough mate.

Anybody watching this, honestly, there are so many mistakes - from not giving Automa the victory points wayy too many when they are clearly on their cards (X symbol), using the round bonus value for X instead of automat difficulty card, incorrect round bonus tile setup for half of the game and many more in other comments below, explaining directional tiebreaker on scholars the first time you use them incorrectly (possibly many more mention in other comments - selecting the Palace bonus in the beginning instead of when placed, neutral building placement, automa upgrades on some turns....). While you correct only some of them and usually much later in the video, most other responsible people who publish teaching videos like these at least add text to the video notify the audience they did something incorrectly. Especially for a sponsored video I would presume you would the streamer would know the rules better

Please please please stop asking us if stuff makes sense. Just say it, whatever it is, and move on. If it doesn't make sense, we can rewind, or maybe read the rules.

He is in a room all by himself. Recording himself playing a board game. How about you do that then come here and have people pick your language apart. Honestly just stay away and go read the rulebook instead

@@elqord.1118 Every reviewer and playthrough gamer is in a room, generally by themselves (in the videos I watch). It's not picking apart his language; I'm not critiquing his elocution -- he's wasting time, and those minor bits add up. Once or twice? Fine.. Over and over and over and over again? Gheez.

@Anarchosyn As said streamer and teacher, I suppose it’s my way of ‘teaching to the table’ in which yall are just watching. So therefore, I appreciate your feedback, however, it’s unlikely to change.

@@Heavycardboard Fair enough, though to my ears it's akin to a rhetorical tick, like adding "ums" around your wording, or the like (e.g. in Edinburgh, some pepper "likesay" into their sentences needlessly). It servers no purpose in this medium given our inability to respond, so comes off as wasted time.
I really am not so bothered as to keep this discussion up, but respect those who give direct responses enough to reply in kind.

@@Anarchosyn He is not editing any of it. How many do that and therefore you would never notice. Go look at actual livestrams where people are solo streaming and then come back here and let us know. Also some of this is just how Edward speaks. If that annoys you maybe also understand that you will not correct a man's speech patterns via a YT comment. So all you really are doing here is being a negative person.
