- TIG welding on the open root with downhill root pass technique.
Downhill a TIG root is a valuable technique to learn that comes in handy when in tight spots, and to upgrade your skills as a TIG welder.
The video gives the viewer good insights into how to place a good and solid root pass. With the appropriate training and practice on the part of the operator, learning to downhill root can become an invaluable skill!
If the puddle gets too large, gravity will simply pull it away ...(especially at the side quarters). This is why molten metal is especially challenging for beginners.

Enables operators to run hot and fast and increasing productivity. Also less fatiguing and easier.
Can a welding robot compete with humans, especially in tig welding?
No, especially when it comes to field welding in various positions, at least not for a while!
