The Platters deserves to be treated as one of the top of the pops. This is no question about it. The voice is so soothing. Highly recommended to all the viewers and song lovers throughout the world.
My dad who died in 1989, never liked music, but he loved two songs. "I left My Heart In San Francisco" and "The Great Pretender". Make me tear up when I hear this song, miss my dad so much.
YES !!!!! I LOVED heari g my mom and dad playing The Platters music growi g up years ago, but, I also remember falling in love with the BEAUTIFUL lady singer 🤎🤎🤎
Platters were my favorite group back in the day and this brings back so many memories. My favorite song by them was Harbor Lights - no one could sing it like them.
Mine too. I was a freshman in college when this song was released, and I can still enjoy it as much today. I agree about Lola. She harmonized beautifully and was a class lady. Tony Williams was absolutely the best as lead singer.
Whose listening this now in May 2022 ? It’s my Dads favourite , now I’m 65 years and still bringing back my childhood days ! Golden hit’s last forever !
I Remember You songs when I was very very very young my aunts would listen to this under 45 records. The good old days. Mid-forties through the fifties and sixties. Have to be the for music.🤙🏽🤙🏽👍🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤝🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽✌🏽✌🏽💪🏾💖💖🤷🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️😊😎😎. The sad part of this is I only have one Aunt left. She was the youngest and she's in her mid-seventies. I lost my mom last year on Father's Day. Songs by good memories and songs with sad memories. Especially when you didn't grow up with your family members.😞🙁😕😒☹🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️.💔.😢😢😢😪😭😔😞.
Love your statement. Loved this song, I must have been all of 10 but instantly knew greatness when I heard it. And you must be a happy man! God is great and to those who don't acknowledge that, well, anyway, God is great. This song is so wonderful. The voices are wonderful. The arrangement, the voices! In fact, it is hard to find singers back then who were not wonderful!
The Platters listening in 2022, they are the greatest singers and their material is a knockout brilliant harmonised performers, the most beautiful sounds come from this group. Not sure where the singers and , the songs, have gone. But we have a handful of extremely talented people around now, I love this group , I also love Miley Cyrus , what a rich deep strong voice that young woman has, I wonder what her rich voice would bring to some platter material?
the female in this wonderful group looks so happy...her beauty only makes this song sound more wonderful...even though the words are so sad...its a song i have sang many times...
I dont understand at that time black people were considered second class people with such a good talent and natural elegance . Amazing beauty. Lovely músic. Kisses from Spain. 💞🇪🇸
I was ten years old when this came out could only hear it on the radio mo tv in South Africa those days loved it then and still love it Platters were very special
Richard Russette Could be worse, but it also could be better. My husband's Alzheimer's events keeps me busy trying to keep him safe. I'm very depressed at the moment. Thanks for asking.

Well-we all were to some degree. "Dream Lover"- a "White sports coat", "Get a job"- I never picked up the first down. The class clown. If I didn't joke I would cried. Only the lonely-most of like Roy rather than Elvies-but "The class of 57 had a dream!" Dream on-
