I nabbed a stunning antique hardwood sofa and chair from someone who was taking it to the dump. It’s hand carved with the most beautiful lines. My goal is to do a deconstructed shabby french makeover on it. And I’m excited because I’ll love its history and it’s imperfections. I’m always so excited when others see the same beauty in things that I do. It keeps my soul inspired and alive.
I just wanted to tell you while I’m thinking of it, how much I enjoy watching your videos, please keep them coming! I don’t watch stuff for leisure much, but when I do & really need a break, yours & Blacktail Studios are 2 of my favorite channels to watch for pure enjoyment & entertainment. It’s so relaxing for me. Thank you because I also film videos for work & I know JUST how much work they are to do! It makes everything like 5x as hard & takes 5x as long compared to if you weren’t videoing the activity lol.

I'm glad you kept the couch, I know it looked like a basket case, but I saw the beauty in the bones of the piece as well. It's the foundation to something that was once someones creation, without those bones, it could never be. I love the way everything is coming together, and so excited for the big day. ARGH! Anyway, I will for sure come and visit if I'm ever in the hood again. Have a good friend in Encinitas, and visited her several times when she was in Del Mar - but that was years ago now. You and I are birds of a feather... I mean, who can pass up a cute piece of furniture or cool stuff that's left on the roadside, right? Luckily I'm older now (lots older than you!) and live in a smallish cabin in the boonies, so have no space (though when did that ever stop us?) I also used to have a store (vintage stuff) and taught people how to paint furniture! How crazy is that? You are going to be SO happy when launch party prep is over. You'll probably be so tired that you'll sleep for a week. LOL. Have a great time! Thank goodness for Dad and Bobby and Elle! What a family! When you were outside near the truck you mentioned a chandelier and I instantly had the image of a chandelier hanging from inside the truck cabin. Was that your idea? Cuz I think that would be adorable especially if you have some strands of crystals swaggin side-to-side. Just an idea. Country chic! You probably already did this but I would definitely recommend sealing the skeleton of that couch that you put inside the truck bed just to protect it.

Just went to the store today and let me tell you it’s the cutest cozy store ever! I came out so inspired to do my own projects! There was so much to see I couldn’t keep up! You've got some serious adhd going on, not being able to focus on the most important urgent vital stuff, as an artist, picturessue staging then gets priority because it calms u and satisfies our needs of a reassuring, soothing environment. I have a sofa that has that dark hunter green and maroon floral pattern. I know black would cover it, but I would so appreciate any ideas for what might happen with lighter colors.
Not everything is worth saving despite what people think. Saving a piece isn’t lol it’s delaying the inevitable. I think most creative people struggle with this we see potential. We have a need to beautify everything. The best solution is what you’re doing with the wax give it away. Knowing when to walk away is the hardest decision to learn. That couch doesn’t need saving lol. People do things don’t.

Think we have the same problem. I’m trying -4 out 1- in A local garden center had a wire frame of a donkey or cow and it was beautifully covered with mosses and succulents. would you be able to do that in your climate? Maybe you don’t have enough humidity. Both a blessing and a curse.

Not everything is worth saving despite what people think. Saving a piece isn’t lol it’s delaying the inevitable. I think most creative people struggle with this we see potential. We have a need to beautify everything. The best solution is what you’re doing with the wax give it away. Knowing when to walk away is the hardest decision to learn. That couch doesn’t need saving lol. People do things don’t.

A local garden center had a wire frame of a donkey or cow and it was beautifully covered with mosses and succulents. would you be able to do that in your climate? Maybe you don’t have enough humidity. Both a blessing and a curse.
