The Guess Who traveled all the way to Houghton Hancock? Brave men. I'm seeing Randy Bachmann this weekend at FireKeepers casino in Battle Creek. Too bad he and Burton aren't touring together.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 ....just to report, the Randy Bachman (BTO) show was awesome and one of my favorites to date. I'm almost 62 years old and have seen well over 100 concerts in my time. Normally I dont care for a lot of talking by the artist between songs but Randy is a story teller (a very funny one at that), and listening to him between songs was almost like watching a good documentary about The Guess Who and BTO. Throughout the entire show the large screen behind the drummer showed old pictures and home video clips of Randy's entire career and life away from the stage. Randy sat on a stool for the entire show....but he's paid his dues and deserves to relax. The fact that he is even out there still playing for his fans says all that you need to know about him. A great role model.
For some reason very few Canadian stars have agreed to appear on our show. Don’t understand why given that I am a fellow Canadian. So I was thrilled to get Burton. Please spread the word about this great episode of our show. More people need to see it!!

Hi Harvey, your channel came up in my feed tonight and you happen to be interviewing my favorite artist Burton Cummings. I've been a fan of his from the 70's. What an honor to watch your interview. Thank you. I will have to check out your other interviews.
My wife and I went to St. John's Tech graduating in 1963 a few years ahead of when Burton Cummings attended. I left Winnipeg in 1965 but returned often to see family. On one of those trips I stopped at a Tim Horton's on Main Street in the 70s, Burton Cummings was in line ahead of me. I think he was visiting his mother who lived in the north end. I often regret not saying hello but felt I did not earn the right to say hello and interfere in his public outing.
Harvey, your intros are absolutely gold and so informative. Fallsview is blocks from my home but unfortunately I can't make it. I am so excited to know he is coming to town as it will electrify our city 👍🏼 The man is golden and so friendly, what a gem. Harvey, this was awesome, thank you !!!! ❤
Wow , love Burton and the guess who , what a a voice , and after your interview Harvey , l can say wow what a person , Great interview well done Harvey , really enjoyed this interview ....Wow..Kevin❤

Harvey I just love your interviews, I can listen to them while driving, while preparing food, getting to bed, or taking a shower lol, the interviews are so engaging and addictive, thanks for everything Harvey and guests. You have already been told how wonderful you are but you truly are, we need to bring you a bigger audience like the audience of Larry king or something ❤
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. Greatly appreciated. We would love a bigger audience but we have no advertising budget, so we rely on word of mouth. Please help spread the word about our show. That would mean the world to me. 🙏❤️
Been a fan since "Seven Long Years" and "Clock on the Wall" days, pre "These Eyes". Seen The Guess Who and his solo shows more times than I can count. Got everything from "Wheatfield Soul" to "Power in the Music" to ALL his solo albums. No better singer in the business. He got praise from the one and only Robert Plant. Not bad. Wish you would of asked him when his new album/cd will be released. If you're an old timer like myself you can't help but sit in awe on all the great singers, and bands in my lifetime. I feel truly lucky to of had a front row seat to it all.
Here is an example of why I always say that in my next life, if I cannot come back Dutch, I want to come back Canadian. As an American I have real fondness and appréciation for characteristics of our Northern Neighbors and you find them evidenced here with Burton Cummings: grounded, sense of humor, polite, doesn't take the self too seriously, friendly, outgoing, and in balance. Harvey you're Czech, right? 27:51
I was kidding. You'll recall I was talking about wanting to be reincarnated Canadian because I like them so much. I know you're a Canuck and was joking. However, I've never been to Eaton's! @harveybrownstoneinterviews8980
I just love Burton. He's coming to Florida in February and I got my tickets and I'm so excited to be going and nothing's going to stop me. And the thing is he's a really nice guy in addition to an extremely talented vocalist and songwriter and musician who plays the harmonica the flute the piano keyboards guitar I mean it's endless the instruments that he plays
Once I heard Randy Bachman make a comment about Burton Cummings' singing voice. I found it puzzling and always wished someday I've have a chance to ask Mr. Cummings what he made of Bachman's comment. If I would have known this interview was upcoming I would have sent in my query as a "Viewer Question". Maybe next time.
Huge fan of Burton! Extremely talented and one of a kind gentleman. His music is always on rotation at home or in my car. He is ROYALTY and an absolute LEGEND!!!
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Absolutely Loved it! Burton just lights up talking about music. He has a Beautiful childlike giddiness. Makes me smile. 😀 Harvey, you are such a kind and sincere interviewer who really knows his stuff. Im so glad I found your channel! Thank you
@drumz700 thank you so much for your very kind feedback. Greatly appreciated. Please spread the word about our show. We would like to grow a bigger audience. 🙏❤️
Thank you for this great interview and the pesentation of all the facts that make Burton Cummings a GOAT in my heart. I just was at his concert in Pittsburgh on Oct 2nd. My 18 year old grandson says that he is a better keyboardist than Elton John and Billy Joel for two. He is still impressed with his vocal ability and range. I have been his fan since the 8-Track days, Thank you Harvey!!!!!!
One of the greatest musical highlights of my musical life was seeing/hearing Burton at Keyano College, Fort McMurray. He was a consummate professional, funny and engaging. Just him and an electric piano. After a few songs he would stop and shake his hands. That is how hard he worked.
Thank you Harvey! Im an accomplished local piano player here in Guelph, and Burton Cummings/ Guess Who tracks are often littered though-out my bands various setlists! "Running Back to Saskatoon", "Laughing" Stand Tall" "Share the Land" and we end with "My Own Way To Rock" (with a medley of "The Entertainer", "Whole Lotta Shakin" "In The Mood" etc..). The crowd loves it!! Burton, man, you are a true LEGEND!! God love you man.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 The Bromeliads! We just released a short film actually of our road trip through the States this past summer to see a couple different Rolling Stones concerts. Good times!
@ the research was great followed by equally good interview. Do a few of the other great vocalist of the era, I did enjoy the scope of the topics discussed.
Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant once cited Burton Cummings as having the best voice in rock. Also, on the Guess Who's 'Rockin'' album the tune 'Heaven Only Moved Once Yesterday' opens up with Burton and another chap 'chatting' while Sam Phillips' 'Sea of Love' is playing in the background. Many years later, Plant covered that tune on his EP 'The Honeydrippers - Vol. 1' (there never was a 'Vol. 2').
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Interview was great. Good questions and rapport with Burton. We have seen so many interviews with him over the years that it is surely a challenge to come up with questions that will constitute a fresh and engaging conversation. Personally, I would like to see interviews with him and also Randy Bachman where they talk about their musical experiences...about bands they toured with, what they like/dislike about certain musics, who their fave players are and why...more musician stuff. I mean, they've had some crazy experiences...like the time Burton met Jim Morrison. I've looked through Randy's book and he has a bit of that in there. Also, what was it like for Burton living/working in LA? Or Randy living in London? My only recommendation would to avoid using 'superstar'. It's a term from a bygone era, and an embarrassing one at that. I work in the music industry and know many successful players. They would DIE if I ever presented them using that word. 'Singer/Songwriter /Musician - Solo, the Guess Who' would surely suffice. That says much more.
@MrCherryJuice interesting. Great suggestions for questions. And by the way, music artists love being described as superstars. These descriptors are all cleared with them in advance. The words “legendary” and “iconic” are also always cleared in advance.
So then I didn't know how to hear it some more cuz I'm elderly and I'm 90 years old now so then on my cable it was playing on the music channel but I couldn't see him but it came on these eyes and I thought oh my gosh there's that song I like. Then my daughter gave me a Alexa. Then I could hear it anytime I wanted to then she gave me a computer and set me up where I can just talk in it like I am now. Now I have it on UA-cam and I see him and play it and play it all his songs thank God for that.😍😍😍
I'm three years older than Burton, and was an observer of his whole career. (Mostly from Toronto) It was great for harvey to bring back memories from the past. __BAK__

You’re very welcome. So glad you found our show. I hope you will check out our other great interviews and consider subscribing to our UA-cam channel. It would mean the world to me!!
Now that’s what I call an introduction!!!
Bravo👏👏👏
Thank you so much. You’re beautiful comment makes up for all those who criticize my introductions for being too long. I very much appreciate you.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 You doing a fantastic job, my friend!! The comment section speaks volumes RE the true self of those who feel compelled to give their opinion. It’s a losing battle whenever you try to please people like that, They’ll ALWAYS find fault with everything & Anything. I’m sure you know the saying… “Opinions are like A*#%€=:S, everybody has one”
Keep up the great work 😊
Roger I don’t know you personally but I am so grateful for your support and kindness to me. I put my heart and soul into every episode of our show and your positive feedback means the world to me. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️
Hi Harvey, your channel came up in my feed tonight and you happen to be interviewing my favorite artist Burton Cummings. I've been a fan of his from the 70's. What an honor to watch your interview. Thank you. I will have to check out your other interviews.
I’m so happy you found our show. Can’t wait to get your feedback on our other interviews with great legendary stars!!
Wow....your music facilitated special moments in my life...I love sugar time flashback joy! I love you bro!!!❤❤❤🎉
Mr Cummings does not read the comments on our UA-cam channel. You can reach him through his website
My Dad went to St John’s Tech as well. I understand why you didn’t want to approach Burton. You are a classy guy.
Canada's own !!
And Harvey is Canadian too
Harvey, your intros are absolutely gold and so informative. Fallsview is blocks from my home but unfortunately I can't make it. I am so excited to know he is coming to town as it will electrify our city 👍🏼
The man is golden and so friendly, what a gem.
Harvey, this was awesome, thank you !!!! ❤
I’m so happy you enjoyed this special episode of our show
2 awesome Canadians !!! 4th time watching this interview ❤❤@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980

Wow , love Burton and the guess who , what a a voice , and after your interview Harvey , l can say wow what a person , Great interview well done Harvey , really enjoyed this interview ....Wow..Kevin❤
Thank you so much Kevin. It warms my heart that you enjoyed the interview so much. It took us 2 years to convince Burton to appear on our show but it was worth the wait!!
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 of course I will! You guys are so welcome 😁
@finderkeeperrrs ❤️❤️❤️
The REAL Guess Who,Bachman and Cummings!!! c ya in 2025.......can't wait!! WOO HOO
Yes!!! Soooo excited!!
Now Randy and Burton can play as the guess who. Awesome
Yes!!
Bucket list to meet Burton sone day.
You won’t be disappointed. He’s wonderful
And I am thrilled that you have a front seat to our show.
I was fortunate enough to see him at The Deadwood Jam last month. He did not disappoint!
That’s so cool!!
Me? Czech???? No, I am Canadian
I was kidding. You'll recall I was talking about wanting to be reincarnated Canadian because I like them so much. I know you're a Canuck and was joking. However, I've never been to Eaton's! @harveybrownstoneinterviews8980
Sorry. Didn’t get the joke. Duh….I’m a bit slow as you may have noticed from watching our show!
These Eyes in 1969. Great memories.
Yes!! Dozens of great songs!!
A fellow Winnipegger! Burton is a class act.
He sure is.
Great interview !!
Thank you so much!
What did you think of the interview?
Once I heard Randy Bachman make a comment about Burton Cummings' singing voice. I found it puzzling and always wished someday I've have a chance to ask Mr. Cummings what he made of Bachman's comment. If I would have known this interview was upcoming I would have sent in my query as a "Viewer Question". Maybe next time.
Sorry I wasn’t aware of Randy’s comment so I could have asked Burton about it
His new album A few Good Moments is now streaming. Its really good.
So glad you like it
Huge fan of Burton! Extremely talented and one of a kind gentleman. His music is always on rotation at home or in my car. He is ROYALTY and an absolute LEGEND!!!
What did you think of the interview?
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Absolutely Loved it! Burton just lights up talking about music. He has a Beautiful childlike giddiness. Makes me smile. 😀 Harvey, you are such a kind and sincere interviewer who really knows his stuff. Im so glad I found your channel! Thank you
@drumz700 thank you so much for your very kind feedback. Greatly appreciated. Please spread the word about our show. We would like to grow a bigger audience. 🙏❤️
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Absolutely 💯 ❤ 👌
@drumz700 ❤️❤️❤️
My pleasure. It took over 2 years to get him to grant me an interview. But he was definitely worth the wait. Thanks for watching
Wonderful interview💕
Thanks so very much for watching
a great interview
Thank you so much
He has such a distinctive voice
Very much so. I believe I said in the interview that his voice is “instantly recognizable”.
One of the greatest musical highlights of my musical life was seeing/hearing Burton at Keyano College, Fort McMurray. He was a consummate professional, funny and engaging.
Just him and an electric piano. After a few songs he would stop and shake his hands. That is how hard he worked.
That must have been a great show. Wish I had been there. What did you think of the interview?
Thank you Harvey! Im an accomplished local piano player here in Guelph, and Burton Cummings/ Guess Who tracks are often littered though-out my bands various setlists! "Running Back to Saskatoon", "Laughing" Stand Tall" "Share the Land" and we end with "My Own Way To Rock" (with a medley of "The Entertainer", "Whole Lotta Shakin" "In The Mood" etc..). The crowd loves it!! Burton, man, you are a true LEGEND!! God love you man.
Next time I’m in Guelph I’ll come watch you play. What is the name of your band?
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 The Bromeliads! We just released a short film actually of our road trip through the States this past summer to see a couple different Rolling Stones concerts. Good times!
@Bluzian74 congrats!!!
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Thank you Harvey! You're a good egg. PS: you're a great interviewer!
@Bluzian74 thank you so much!!
Great interview Harv! Love Burton 😊
I’m so glad you enjoyed my conversation with Burton. He’s a wonderful guy. Thank you so much for watching our show. Please spread the word.
I see Jim Morrison in the background. Burton tells a great story about meeting Jim at a party in Hollywood!
Sorry I never got to ask him to tell that story.
Love listening to his stories. Loved to see him perform at the CNE a few years ago. With surprise visit Randy Bachman. I really enjoyed that.
I’m so happy you enjoyed this interview. Thanks so much for watching.
Fantastic!!!😊😊😊
Thank you!!!
Fabulous voice, was him in Victoria in 2023.
What did you think of the interview?
@ the research was great followed by equally good interview. Do a few of the other great vocalist of the era, I did enjoy the scope of the topics discussed.
Thank you so much for watching
He looks great. Always liked him.
Hope you enjoyed the interview
Love!!!!!!
What did you think of the interview?
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Management? I'm surprised Burton would let them do that.
@MrCherryJuice oh trust me. He was VERY HAPPY. And why shouldn’t he be? He is a SUPERSTAR
I saw Burton perform last summer, and he was excellent. Rock on!
What did you think of the interview?
@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 The interview was great. Thank you!
@Jackdelroy1 thanks for watching
It's a shame that The Guess Who haven't been inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-That's a huge snub as far as I'm concerned.
Canadian music artists have a harder time getting those kinds of accolades because they’re not American. You know what I’m saying
They are so deserving of HOF award. They are inducting country artists into the Hall but many rock bands are overlooked.
@mikescanlan6795 yes The Guess Who should most definitely be inducted into the R&R HOF
I love his music, he’s in my FAVORITE tv movie Melanie!!!
Yes!!! Love that film
Ok! I Just watched Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman cover Shape of your heart! Well done and very nice.
What did you think of this interview?
So then I didn't know how to hear it some more cuz I'm elderly and I'm 90 years old now so then on my cable it was playing on the music channel but I couldn't see him but it came on these eyes and I thought oh my gosh there's that song I like. Then my daughter gave me a Alexa. Then I could hear it anytime I wanted to then she gave me a computer and set me up where I can just talk in it like I am now. Now I have it on UA-cam and I see him and play it and play it all his songs thank God for that.😍😍😍
Thank you for watching OUR show on UA-cam!!
Good interview.
Thanks so much for watching!
The song "Take One Away" from 1990 "Plus Signs" is my favorite!!
I love that song too
I'm three years older than Burton, and was an observer of his whole career. (Mostly from Toronto) It was great for harvey to bring back memories from the past. __BAK__
Although I am Canadian, we’ve had great difficulty convincing Canadian stars to appear on our show. That’s been my biggest disappointment despite the huge success of our show. So you can imagine how happy I was to get Burton to say yes. He loved the interview and we have become friends. Thanks for watching
Great video!!
Thank you!! Please check out more of our great interviews!!!
I am seeing him jan 25th 2025. I cant wait 2nd row !!!
OMG you’re in for such a treat!!!
Since I first heard the guess who late sixties great musiv
What did you think of the interview?
The other day I mentioned famous Canadian Bands, and was challenged to name 1..... The first band that came to my mind, and I have many favorites, was "The Guess Who"..!!
What did you think of the interview?
I have been to his house. I got high with him in Sherman Oaks, California. He gave me backstage passes. Seen him about 15 times. He was so cool to me. I knew all the Guess Who non- hits
Cool story. Thanks!!
Starting with the one-two punch of These Eyes and Undone, I felt this was the arrival of a major talent.
And you were absolutely correct
I'm looking forward to seeing him next March (2025) in Joliet, IL
Wonderful. Enjoy!!
Well deserved
