Enthusiast POV hey. I have a 2017 q50 3.0t with 65k
Would you advise me to service the transmission? I’ve done rear diff fluid flush every 30k, anything I should do maintenance wise with my mileage??
Unless you’ve been pushing that car hard i think you’re fine but a drain and refill doesn’t hurt
so cool to see so many modified cars and enthusiast at a dealership. Good stuff Austin Infiniti
Dam that’s definitely nice to have an Infiniti dealer so “tuner friendly” like that.. I’m in Jersey and definitely not common up here lol
Did the front and rear diff yesterday on my 15 Q50. My drain plugs had quite a bit more on them but I assume it’s due to the age of the car and short trips. They both were about equal I’d say. Your video has def convinced me to wait on the trans I’m only at 28k and I don’t dive the car hard.
i feel bad for people who believe the "lifetime" fluid garbage with the transmission
You're getting killer chiller installed too?! Nice!
Best vlogs.. period!
Thank you 🙏🏼
LMAO.....You're getting the intercooler huh. Couldn't resist. Just very happy the improvements and support keep coming. Want to see what Japan has in-store when the car really hits their market.
Question that you may have answered already....why Austin infinity and not a dealership in Dallas/Fort worth?
Those wheels were sick as F!
Would you go to a mod friendly dealer or a non mod friendly dealer lol. That’s why i go there. But I’m not getting the killer chiller.
@@EnthusiastPOV Well that's a no brainer lol. Austin everytime.
FYI....the Outlets just outside of Austin are ridiculous on Black Friday with deals. The sales are crazy good, from my last visit. It's an experience. I remember getting some Timberlands for $40 a few years back. Another friend got Coach bags for led than. $100 each. Parking gets ridiculous
I thought they held 12 quarts of fluid? So 8 quarts of old dirty oil was left behind?
I know this video is old but when the tech filled the trans back up did he start the car to get the fluid level or did just fill it back up until it started leaking?
My 9th gen civic asks for its CVT flushed every 45k miles, no way I'd trust an Infiniti or Nissan product to go a life without it done
I know that car. That’s nismo knights q60. Power pro tuned and build it. Fastest rwd q60 btw
Wrong. That is not Jeff’s car lol.
I forgot new intercoolers are coming out. Got any info on em?
I’m in the dark like everyone else! Hope they come out soon
How was the transmission feeling after the fluid change? And you should do a video of doing the killer chill
The transmission felt so much better!
Good to know, I’m running into some of the same issues, gonna have to get this done. Was this covered under warranty?
Smart move
Hey man, I stay in San Antonio, and watching this video it seems like these guys from Infiniti seem cool. My question is, are these specific guy friendly when it comes to modded q50 and warranty? 👀 I'm just curious, because you guys going in there talking about tracks and racing. So they gotta know your car is tuned lol. Just curious man
Austin Infiniti was a place where I was treated fairly. As far as warranty work, it’s hit or miss man. Be careful out there
Appreciate the videos. Can you get info on the KC system parts? Looking to install my own. Not many people doing this and posting about it.
Anything helps, thanks
The killer chiller is not something i plan to inquire about unless i plan on buying myself at this time.
Thank you! The kill chiller is intriguing. I just bought an AMS heat exchanger. Does killer chiller replace that?
It’d an addition to it
@@EnthusiastPOV nice!! Didn't waist my money then. Definitely getting this system. Great video.
Did they forget to do the transfer case?
Michigan what up doe
I have a 2015 Q50 with 44k miles and I am AWD. Do you recommend doing the same? And I do live in NYC where it’s cold right now idk if that has any affect with how the fluid breaks down.
A drain and refill wouldn’t hurt to be honest
Just bought a 38000 mile 2015 q50 awd what should be the service intervals for front/rear diff and transmission
30k. Diffs trans supposed to be not serviceable but I’d recommend drain and refill at 60k it driven normal
@@EnthusiastPOV thanks for the info my dude
What brand front diff oil would you recommend/ do you use?
How do you check trans oil level.on 2wd silver sport.
You don’t. Lol.
@@EnthusiastPOV I had to lower engine. To replace driver turbo. A lil trans oil came out. From taking radiator out. I replaced turbo . I wanted to check level.
quick question, the coating on the intercooler, can this be done, separate, from installing the killer chiller unit ? who does this service and how much ? any info is greatly appreciated
I’d contact Craig at Austin Infiniti.
What was the price total
I'm getting my transmission fluid changed soon, should I have the transfer case serviced at the same time as well? Thanks
I’d do transfer case and diff @ 30k and trans at 60k if i were you. Just have a good service mindset on the car
@@EnthusiastPOV yes mines is at 36k. So I could hold off on trans fluid to 60k. And get the others done. Thanks for recommendation.
@@EnthusiastPOV any other services you'd recommend for this car keeping it running smooth and fast.
Yes sir !
What was the transmission fluid you use for the drain and fill?
OEM Nissan matic s
You used the same Motul 75w90 for the transmission?
No. That was the transfer case. Transmission used Nissan AUTO fluid.
From your video it seems you have a leak between the engine and the transmission. Could be a rear main oil seal leak?
I don’t have any leaks between the engine and the transmission. In fact i just pulled the driveshaft and there wasn’t anything leaking.
@@EnthusiastPOV at 5:15 - 5:30. oily bell housing
How do you check oil level?
Engine oil..?
How do you check trans oil level?
@@dgee205 You kinda don't in a sealed transmission like this guy's Q. On some you're suppose to let it warm up to 100F ish and the let the excess spill out from the fill hole through a built in red plastic drain straw but it's usually just what ever volume comes out you refill the same amount. I kinda feel sorry for the owner. That trans fluid looked burnt and milky. Kinda like it's been contaminated with coolant somehow.
Lol. Transmission contaminated with coolant ? That’s a good my man. It’s called wear and tear and a lot of track time. The fluid wasn’t broken down, it was just heat cycled quite a bit. The viscosity of the fluid was still there and a full black stone report revealed It was still good for its age. As for the first part of your answer to checking the fluid level, that is accurate.
@@mugensamurai yea I know now . I had to replace my driver turbo on my q60. A lil trans oil came out when I lowered engine. This guy doesn't know much . don't waist your time watching . im waiting for him to get a gtr so I can beat him with my q60 with rjm gt25 500 twinz
Holy shit that fluid looks real messed up. WTF Nissan engineering?
How many quarts was just drain and refill?
4
Please, how many liters needs to change transmission fluid ?
12 qts to flush. 4 to drain and refill
@@EnthusiastPOV what do you mean by this? I’m looking to get my transmission oil changed soon. And I’m not sure how much oil to buy.
What intake is on the Q60 in the end? If its a RA500 did ams start including the blowoff valves in the kit?
The intake at the end is power pro intake. And RA500 does not include bovs.
@@EnthusiastPOV That intake looks like it will swallow up some water. Interesting the kit doesnt include blowoff valves if they're suppose to help save ur turbos.
@@tube2892 basically everything in their kit is to build power except for the heat exchanger. Bovs are optional but worth it in my opinion
I have a dumb question. How many quarts you have to refill the transmission if you don't measure the amount of the fuild have been drained
4 for a drain and refill.
@@EnthusiastPOV how much did this run you? give the breakdown pleaase
It’s the same price at every dealer. Won’t cost you much more than a couple hundred. It’s basic maintenance
Is 75w90 ok to use in the front differential? The manual calls for 75w80 for the front and 75w90 for the rear diff (for the 2015 Q50)
I did the rear diff recently on my Q50 and want to do the front too, but not sure if i can use the 75w90 (motul) on the front as well.
It’s fine to use yes
