    Just wanted to say thank you for your Infiniti G37 videos. They’ve helped me a lot I recently did my valve cover gaskets and spark plugs thanks to your video. One question I have is how do you diagnose power steering issues my power steering went out and hardly turns while parked thinking it might be the rack and pinion

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  Рік тому +3

      Thanks for watching and glad to help. I haven't had any issues with power steering on my Infiniti vehicles yet, but I'd first check power steering fluid level. If level is good then check to make sure serpentine belt is intact and is attached to your power steering pump. If that is good, then I'd say issue might be pump or rack. If you are low on power steering fluid then you'll need to find the leak. You can get UV dye, put in the system, and then check with UV flashlight and yellow glasses to see if you can find the leak. Hope it helps.

      Is it much more work to do all the gaskets at the same time as the spark plugs?

    • @fxkeyy4307
      @fxkeyy4307 Рік тому

      @@Marinate305 since in order to do the spark plugs you have to take off the throttle body’s all that’s left is the valve covers and manifold. Once you get those off it’s pretty easy, It is a few extra steps but you’re already there so why not do it especially if you do have an oil leak. I would just follow his video as it’s the best detailed video step by step, the only problem I had was the driver side valve cover I couldn’t get it off at first but just took patience

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  Рік тому

      @@Marinate305 Yes, it would require disconnecting bunch of stuff and removing manifold to remove valve covers. If your valve covers do not leak, then just do spark plugs.

      Powersteering can be tricky I’m having that issue right now, check your lines if they are good could just be the pulley that your serpentine belt sits on or it could be the actual pump it self

    I have a little hand pump that I bought to pump gear oil into the gear case of my outboard motor. I've also used it to fill the diff in my 05 Dodge Magnum RT. I think I could use this pump for the trans fluid fill. The pump cost less than $10 at Walmart. My wife's car is a 2013 EX37 that has about 51k miles on it. That is the intended victim!

    why not just disconnect a transmission fluid output cooler hose and drain it one quart at a time and put in one quart fresh from the dipstick? Also why not replace or at least clean the filter while you had the pan off?

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  Рік тому +5

      You drain more by draining from actual drain plug and 2010 and up models do not have dipsticks. I guess you could drain and fill through the cooler hose, but then you'd have to run the engine every so often to get more fluid rotated around, I think my way is much faster and easier. As far as cleaning the filter, to my knowledge the filters there are not serviceable and from my research these transmissions are very reliable, so just cleaning magnets and oil pan should be sufficient. Thanks for watching

    Nice video… So you let it run while refilling it? Why didn’t you go ahead and do the Trans Filter? Usually @ $30-$40. Already apart and w/ 150K? My 2013 is at 81K… I’ll be doing mine at @100K.

      If you have to do another oil change I'd say do it when you're replacing the fluids. But if not, I don't think it's worth wasting ATF for that. Just check once in a while for leaks. I'd assume if it's not leaking now, it shouldn't leak in the future.

      Mine had 145 when I did my first change. I had the vehicle ever since it had 74k so I am pretty sure atf was never changed. I personally think you should change it out. I'm planning to do a transmission fluid and gasket change. Is it bad if I fully flush the old transmission fluid or leave some in there and just put the new one in? I'm planing to use the "Aalvoline Multi-Vehicle (ATF) Full Synthetic Automatic transmission fluid." Would you guys use that one or just use the oem by Nissan? Also, should I even do a transmission fluid change as my car only has 70k miles?

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  8 місяців тому

      I personally think 100k miles is when you're due for fluid change. 70k miles is a bit too early, but many disagree with me. I did not use OEM fluid, but some other brand (as shown in video), just make sure it is compatible with the vehicle. Drain and fill is much safer than flushing the fluid.
