Wow well done! I own 3 of those 8 (and about 50 others 😂) the first two are all time favorites and the last one I just got about two months ago and was blown away. It’s basically a $25 small sebenza but done as a ball bearing flipper. The lock up is perfection and it came hair popping sharp out of box. Everyone needs to buy that knife while it’s still so cheap.
Great video! You got a new sub!

I agree on the Ruike being the absolute best value out of the lineup. The Rat's are damn close to top budget knife winners, but that Ruike has better steel, and a ball bearing flipper, which also happens to be a rare pivot bearing system, for 30 bucks has to take the value award, hands down. For the money, it's an incredible knife.
Thanks for the review..over all good picks for the budget knife crowd.

  • @dobypilgrim6160
    @dobypilgrim6160 4 роки тому +1

Everybody should own a Ruike 801. Period. And everybody who calls, hunts, fishes, or works should own the Buck. These are by far the two best knives I have found in your price range. I own a bunch of Buck knives and several Ruike 801s. Both also have the best steel on your list as well. That Sanvik 14C28n steel on the Ruike is the same as on the Mora Garberg. And the Buck 420HC is of course legendary.

  • @scotthill6807

I think Buck fixed the Vantage blade centering issue (at least they did on mine). There are so many choices in this price range; I don't think I could narrow it down to just 8. We knife enthusiasts are spoiled. So many affordable choices! Thanks for the video.

Great video! Solid choices. It's been said but thanks for looking out for us lefties! You're right, except maybe clean styling, there's no reason not to make knives ambidextrous. Even for right handed people who may want their back up knife on the left. That's what I'm doing just putting my back up on the right and training my right hand as well. This lets me take advantage of some right carry only knives.

One of my Buck 110s was $20 new in the box last summer. The other one was $29.95 at Walmart. Both with leather sheaths. My 110LT was $19.95. I'll have them until I die. Yep. I'm old. I use them in the desert, and when hunting. Not trendy. But great knives.

You can't beat the Victorinox recruit for $17.
2 great thin and extremely slicy blades, 3 screwdrivers if you know how to use It, light prying capabilities, plus a toothpick and tweezers, all in such a compact pocket friendly package.
Next to that I'd consider the KA-BAR Dozier decent, though it's not the best slicer.
My Buck 482 slices better and is American made, so It wins out for me.

A knife that didn't make your list that should have is the Tangram Santa Fe made by the Kizer knife company. It out performs the RAT 2 in every way with grippy G10 handles and a 440C stainless that takes a razor sharp edge. I've had several on your list and the Tangram Santa Fe easily tops them all.

I'm glad you recommended the Ruike P801. It's an amazing knife (especially for the price). I own 3 of them, and they are some of the knives that I carry most. Speaking of carry - the P801 is great in the pocket. The super slim design and the deep carry clip almost force me to grab this knife as soon as I put on my pants. Plus, the action is fun as heck.
I don't know if you own one, but you should also check out the Ruike P108. The action is even more authoritative than the 801!

Dude the Esee Avispa and Esee zancudo would’ve beat out the Rat 1 and 2 easily, I recommend it to everyone !!! Good video though

I love the esee avispa also. The only problem, is that the framelock is harder (than the rat 1 liner lock) to push for lefties, and the left thumb stud on the avispa is shorter. Again, making it harder for lefties.

How do people flick some of these knives open like that. I have a RAT 2 and it will NOT flick open that easily. If i try the knife twists and the blade only opens like halfway and i damn near cut myself. Just bad technique?

No! It's a piece of shit. The only knife I regret buying. Push hard on it and the lock fails and the blade starts folding backwards. Good for cucumbers and that's it. Trust me on this boys.

Gideon'stactical from the 110 and Finn wolf which has the strongest lock.

Hatim Mohammed The Finn Wolf has a stronger lock in my opinion. That triad is amazing and the handle materials are a bit stronger, so that seems to offer slightly less play.
