    Thankyou very easily explained. Some other knitters talk too much about other things instead of straight to the stitches. Thanks 💜👍

      Many thanks for your feedback Donna. I haven't been able to do many videos this year as I have worked full time throughout the pandemic but I'm reducing my working hours at the end of October so hope to do more after that.

    Hi @Lona Fryatt, it looks like some videos are missing after LKC 18. I was hoping to see how you knit the sleeve cap.

      Hi Michael (again lol). There are definitely more videos. If you go to the playlists on my UA-cam page and look at LCC Toddler's Knitted Cardigan you will see there are 38 videos. A lot I know but it breaks the pattern down into manageable parts.

    Lona, Love watching you knit! It's interesting how you hold your needles, do you have a video on it? I am a continental knitter and for the most part I do ok but would like to increase my speed, I've tried using Stacy's flicking method(similar to yours) but I have a hard time holding the yarn that way...anyway... this is a timely video for me as I am making arm warmers for my grand daughter. I did them in the round and used this technique known as KFB(knit front and back) in the US but I did the increase in round at the beginning and again half way across thinking it would look neater that way but I should have just done an increase at the beginning and end instead oh well I can always make another pair..

      Hello there, sorry but I don't know your name. Thank you for your comment, your feedback is much appreciated. I didn't have any videos specifically focused on how I hold my needles so I have just uploaded 2 new videos - LJF Holding the knitting needle my way Video 1 of 2, ditto Video 2 of 2. Please let me know if these help you, or if you want further explanation on anything I have done on these or any other of my videos. Best wishes, Lona

    I am knitting my first Jumper as a beginner I have knitted front and back I am up to casting off 3 stitches both ends then I am on my decreasing stitches up to shaping shoulders , I was looking for your video on neck , Just wanted some advice about that ? I Was thinking about a roll neck ? Doing , Rib pattern then rolling inwardly then sowing in place ? What do you think ?

      Hello Brian, apologies for not replying sooner. I work full time but as we are 3 weeks into lockdown I am now able to give this my attention. You may already have finished your project and if you did the neckline as you proposed it would have looked perfectly good. I would probably have suggested a crew neck finish. It would have been worked exactly as you suggest but with far fewer rows, say 20 in rib. I did the knitting videos for a class I was teaching but they have been subscribed to by many people so I am going to try to resume videoing my work and uploading more. I will endeavour to work a neckline in my first videos and notify you when I upload it. Thank you for your interest and comment and good luck with your future knitting projects.

    can you increase in the middle of your rows?

    • @lonafryatt9726
      @lonafryatt9726  6 років тому

      Hello Flora, you can increase anywhere in a garment but it would affect the shape. Taking the sleeve as an example, if you were to increase in the middle of the rows instead of at the ends you would have a 'peaked' shape to the shoulder and straight underarm, which would look odd.

      @@lonafryatt9726 thanx!so i only need to increase by one stitch each time.how do i go about that?it's for a sleeve and i have made my own pattern.should i increase once at the right,once at the left?thanx for the quick response

    • @lonafryatt9726
      @lonafryatt9726  6 років тому +2

      @@whatshername3158 Hi Flora, you've got it right, you would increase once each side of a sleeve. However, you don't increase every row or every alternate row, most patterns require a gradual increase at every 3rd row. You are creating your own pattern, which is brave, I have never done that. I have a copy of the pattern that I used for this set of videos. If you are on Facebook please invite yourself to my crochet or knitting page - it shows me with a yellow vest top, I have long hair. Regards, Lona

      @@randommusings48 Hi Michael, it is CrochetorKnitting. I am not sure if you can copy and paste this link to see it: facebook.com/Crochet-or-Knitting-554374394673534. I haven't posted anything for such a long time because I just haven't had the time (I have worked full time+ throughout the pandemic) to make although there are a couple of things I could upload right now so I might get on to that. If you scroll down the CrochetorKnitting pages to 2017 you will see my favourite pieces - crocheted animal heads,. I prefer to make challenging pieces. I have set up playlists on UA-cam, you can find them under Lona's Lessons in Crochet and Knitting. Please subscribe and like anything you see on there. Thank you for contacting me.
