Thanks! Sold 5 bags I rarely use last month. It was liberating, creating more space. The people who bought them are happy and made me happy as well that they bring joy to other people as well.
I really enjoyed this video. I've started curating my collection. So although I'm still buying, I'm also letting go of things. Selling does take a lot of time and effort but that makes me think harder about letting things into my life 💕💕💕
This video couldn't have come at a better time. I am downsizing my collection for the 3rd time in 2 years, and its always bitter-sweet. But better to cut my losses and move them on to make room for items that suit my ever evolving lifestyle. Love the future self analogy, 100% can relate to this. Xx
I love this and it reflects recent changes with my wardrobe. I’m down from 26 bags to 10. I sold many I never wore and purchased one birkin in their place. I realized the bag I really wanted was attainable if I just cut back on all the things I purchased instead. I now have one Kelly, one birkin, and some bags I absolutely love. The rest have gone and it’s a very freeing feeling. Plus the guilt of having beautiful things I never wear is gone and that’s a relief :)
Love that you are so genuine & you think through things & you share what worked & what didn’t work out for you. I have learned so much from your wisdom & maturity. Thank you for great videos that always produce. Xx
What an amazing video with great advice! Your voice is so soothing, calm, and relaxing. I started downsizing my collection over the past year or so. It’s been very rewarding and really makes me think about what I need and want out of my luxury purchases. I really look towards longevity, my lifestyle, and practicality. I’d rather have one great item for each use/purpose than multiples that barely get used because of constant rotation. I like having one large bag, one medium bag, one small bag, one pair of sneakers, one pair of boots, etc. It works well for me and it’s also very satisfying to have less in my closets and display cases. 💕
I have been following you for a while (can't really remember how long, perhaps over a year), but yours has recently become one of my favourite accounts again. It helps so much to know that people on social media are being truthful and reasonable about owning a lot of luxury items. It's important to enjoy and treasure what we have, but also, to find a way to be happy with it in the long run, not just for a few months, before we go after the next big purchase.
You know Eileen, when I found this luxury community years ago, I literally felt overwhelmed with seeing so many things in one person's closet.. still do sometimes. I think that's the reason I missed out on several things I really desired, seeing others owning them over & over again. But I'm also fully aware, this too may have saved me. I had to REALLY Know whatever luxury I purchased it was a forever purchase. I'm so looking forward to that day where I'm totally free. You Inspire me so Eileen. 💯💕🌺
Thank you for your video :-) I particularly relate to your views on shopping for the life you wish you had, rather than the life you’re actually living... I’ve been guilty of shopping this way for most of my life and am now trying to declutter and shift the pattern.
After watching your story I actually start to think the same starting to sell some bag and focus more on what I want to invest more in my happiness and got what I love ❤️
Happiness I always worth investing in! And I’ve found happiness can be found in many simple things, like a walk in nature, a cup of tea, and a good book xx
Wow, what you said about buying for a fantasy lifestyle really resonated with me! I'm guilty of doing the same and as a result, accumulated more than I will ever need or use. I did start paring down a few years ago and the process is ongoing. I am not acquiring or buying anything new, and don't want anything, which is very liberating. And there are things that I don't use that frequently, but I don't want to get rid of them since I do still enjoy them. My only issue is finding the right places through which to sell. I've had some varying degress of sucess on some platforms, but I still have quite a few items to sell. I may end up biting the bullet and going with one of the consignment shops.
I think the pandemic, has impacted us on what are the priorities in life. I did the same Eileen, and kept those pieces that matches and compliments my neutral and basic colors. As you, I am a classic and neutral color girl, so everything that was going to limit the majority of my wardrobe preferences, I let them go. My problem, and I would love your advice on this, is matching and mixing jewelry, mostly the CDC’s bracelets that I love, but I am not gravitating towards them. Thanks for this video and ha be blessed week ahead.
What a great video! I have realized this about myself too. I rarely go to any fancy parties or events. Going to the grocery store with my beautiful Chanel is not ideal. I’ve been wanting to sell some bags and this video has helped me decide to go through with it. Thank you!
I love your bag collection and your style I have a very small wardrobe and small budget but I changed my buying habits. Some basics I buy them cheap but then I save and buy a better quality bag or other item like pants or a blazer. I used to buy a lot of cheap clothing now I buy way less I’m careful in laundry and invest in some key good quality pieces from medium range fashion stores like Massimo Dutti (and take advantage of sales where good prices can be found almost as Primark with much better quality). Thank You for your help.
I've been humming and hawing about selling my first and only luxury bag, because I've had it for 4 years and my taste and lifestyle have changed. It's in immaculate condition, I'm not reaching for it very often. I filmed myself unboxing it (just for me) and re-watched it. I can see how very special the whole experience had been for me, so it feels wrong to let it go. I did some research and I could actually get a fair price for it and perhaps put the money towards another luxury bag that would suit me better (I can't afford to have multiples). I wore it yesterday and at first, really loved it, but by the end of the day the things that bug me about it became very pronounced too. I decided to sleep on it and now I see your video and it's like a sign! When I got it, it was a huge milestone for me - so changing my mind seems like I'm disrespecting that version of myself. There's also a fear of what if I'll never get to have something as nice again. At the end of the day, things are just things. I've decided to list the bag and if I get a price I'm happy with, sell it.
Your videos are so relatable and relaxing. I have really downsized clothes and shoes in the last few years. I don’t own any Chanel handbags. I have several LV’s…less than 20, 2 YSL’ s and a Gucci Marmont. I wanted to add more until I started watching your videos. Plus I am approaching the end of my working career😊. Therefore I definitely will not need as many handbags.
This is very helpful as I’m struggling letting go of the items that are not being used as I love their style and colors. However, there’s no point of keeping all of them and narrowing my collection is my goal. Thanks for your informative video ❤️
Hello. You are a very wise lady. Life is more than owning luxury handbags. I have taken your advice and have just sold two of my purses I loved but not used in a long time. The feeling is of freedom. Thank you for this video. X
I have found that giving bags away is much more satisfying than selling them. There are lots of women who would love to have beautiful bags but cannot afford them. If you have sisters, nieces, cousins, neighbors, colleagues, and friends you are sure to find someone who would appreciate the gift.
And the ones buying them in the first place could resell them and put the funds in much needed areas. I have given luxury bags to family as you mentioned here. They won’t appreciate it as much, especially when you freely give things without them working for them. I’d say sell as many to recoup for your loss.
Loved this video Eileen! Currently in the proceeds of downsizing, and yeah it’s overwhelming a bit. You give great tips and insights thank you for this video!! 💕👜
Thanks for the great video! One more advice to those people who find it particularly hard to sell their items due to sentimental values, make a very conscious purchase moving forward! If you don’t buy, you don’t have to let go :)
Great video! I’ve been occasionally selling my luxury goods for the past couple of years and it feels great! 😊 The only con I would say is that it may have made me more tempted to buy certain things because at the back of my mind, I think I can just sell it if I end up not loving it as much! Xx
Thank you for such thought provoking videos. If I were to chose a daily mantra, this video would be in my list.It teaches me to be grateful for what I have,to accept that I have a dopamine problem and to get some sanity of my clutter and find direction.
I guess I pass the stage of "the more the merrier". I used to feel like suffocating each time I open my packed wardrobe with bags or clothes which I only reach for a few times a year. Making 100% use of what I have is my recent goal. Selling handbags and SLGS, to me, is a hassle that makes me rethink why I would buy them in the first place. I guess this is what I have to go through in my younger age so that I learn the lesson now.
I rarely carry my Chanel Classic flap that I purchased in 2008. I know that if I sell it, there is no way that I would pay the current price of over $8,000.00 for a new one. I am definitely keeping it and my WOC with the gold hardware. I plan on selling most of the other items that I have. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Hi Eileen, I really enjoy watching your channel, especially this one. It would be really great to know which consignment stores you use to sell your purses. I have never sold any luxury things. Thank you.
I must say i enjoyed looking at your original collection. As much as you claim you were mindlessly pursuing luxury items, its clear you made careful choices and bought only classic pieces. I personally wouldnt sell the chanel flap. It is a beautiful bag and i think you will like it better as you grow older
To be honest, when I filmed my first handbag collection video, it was actually 60% of what I used to have. Prior to that I sold about 10 handbags which were bought on impulse. I hope that helps to out things in context xx
Thank you for sharing another very helpful video Eileen. Can you please make a video of when you purchased your very first luxury item, and what was it. Do you still have it and how did it feel using a luxury item in the beginning. I am just curious. Cos I have a few bags that I really love but I hesitate using them bc of guilt and of being judge for owning lux items
As always, another inspiring video. Thank you Eileen! I am all for mindful spending, specially when it comes luxury items. Used to hold on to a lot of them. I am now contented with my tiny collection and definitely less guilty.
I like when you shared about luxury minimalism..Im happy cos I’m careful in purchasing my bags and don’t have to go through selling unwanted bag(s). decluttering for me doesn’t mean u must downsize to one bag or 1 jeans. I believe you can keep 5 bags rather than facing 10 bags and still not satisfied. Same goes for jeans, a person may have 20 pairs of jeans and still feel she has nothing to wear. Take care🥰
I am also downsizing. Now I only have 4 bags. But I am contemplating to sell either the Palm Spring or neverfull mm... very hard to make a decision.. Any tots on this? I have sold 3 bags so far.

It really is a liberating feeling to let go of what we don’t use xx
Great points here. I like what you said about buying for your fantasy self. I have been guilty of that in the past. Fantastic video as always! ❤️
Thank you so much, Andrea xx
So true!
Lol that’s why the red bottoms go untouched. My fantasy self wears them daily though 😂😭😭😭😭😂
I really enjoyed this video. I've started curating my collection. So although I'm still buying, I'm also letting go of things. Selling does take a lot of time and effort but that makes me think harder about letting things into my life 💕💕💕
