Location: Nahahum Canyon near Cashmere Washington
    Temp: Honestly, I don’t remember… mid 40’s maybe?
I’m gonna release this early today. I forgot to set to PM, but let’s just go for it!
Who doesn’t love a peaceful car driving video? Nahahum Canyon is definitely a backroad you take for the joy of the journey rather than the destination. In fact, it is a sidebar (along with a handful of others), as part of the Cascade Scenic Loop. On this peaceful and scenic car drive, we could have gone miles and miles further, but it was lunch time, and my tummy was grumbling! So you know I’m going to tell you the scenery is much better in person… and I assure you, it is. There is a beautiful hike you can do here, and at some point I hope to be able to do it when my knee is better.
This gorgeous canyon road is pretty any time of the year, but it does stand out in the springtime when the hills turn a glorious lime green and the balsamroot flowers are in bloom. They absolutely light up the day, even on gloomy ones such as this. And I do love pretty yellow flowers, so they were a nice bonus. I had hoped for at least a peek of sunshine, but honestly, it didn’t matter.
Through the rain speckled glass, the countryside came alive and brought a smile to my face and filled me up with gratitude for just being there. I guess that’s all I could ask for, really. There is so much exploring to do when visiting the Leavenworth area, and I highly recommend going beyond the obvious and stretching time to include a drive like this. I’ll have another one from this area next Friday.
As the big trip inches ever closer, and the most amazing things my eyes have never seen are waiting to greet me, I vow to always appreciate the humble and understated backroads and landscapes of my state. It is… home. But… I am pretty darn excited to take one of the longest trips away from this home since I was a teenager. And to see some awesomely incredible things. All of which I will share, in my simple style. No rush to get more subscribers. Learn one thing at a time. There’s no pressure down here at the bottom of the list, and I kinda like that.😉
But… to my intimate little group of 300+ subscribers who are returning to watch my videos… thank you! And if you dropped in for a look, I truly appreciate it! Enjoy the ride, and…
    I’ll catch ya next time!♥️
