- Barbecue is not a craft, it's a calling for pitmaster Rodney Scott. "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Thank you for the ride, the escape, the travel ANTHONY......You took me to places, I wouldn't have ordinarily visited. The aromas, the beauty, the uniqueness, I'll never forget. Most importantly, you graced me with cultures of people from all over the world. My experiences has expounded to "Parts Unknown!!!!!!!! A toast to you Anthony...........R.I.P!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto.....:(....
Took his passing really hard. It surprised me, how I responded. Something about the light and the dark that was in him...that made him complicated and interesting. He loved fine food and dining, yet hated the pretentiousness of it at the same time. He was an unashamed Jersey guy too. I appreciated that after living there for awhile. Love you Tony. Wish you could have made another choice for your daughter's sake. For us dad's, nothing is better than a daughter. They are precious!
Anthony realized the world around him had turned to shit and getting old really sucks... Take a real look and you will see it... If you got kids though it is extremely selfish...
And it should be noted Sean Brock, one of the greatest (and most important) chefs in the world, was sharing this meal with Bourdain, and very likely he was the guy who presented Rodney Scott to AB to begin with.
Food is love, and this cook understands this perfectly! Much respect!
I’m literally watching this while laying in bed and eating some of Scott’s BBQ right now. It’s delicious stuff. And it’s true that most of SC is all about mustard sauce and this is a vinegar sauce. Having grown up with the vinegar based this is right up my alley.
I drive 2 hrs from NC to have it. Will probably make the ride tomorrow. 🤣
Scott's is legendary around here. I'm about a hour away,so I grab some anytime I pass through. And when I do,there is a small list of friends that I have to call and get a pound or two for,...if I dont I get the stink-eye for a while. "You went to Scott's and didn't call me?....that's a party foul man...."...
Vinegar based BBQ sauce is my #1 It's so good
Watching here in 2020...still miss you Anthony, you opened up avenues to the world for so many. I dont know what demons you were dealing with, but I hope you have found peace my brother. You will be remembered as daring, innovative, intriguing personality, and we will surely miss your presence in our futures. Rest in peace,tony... we will remember you!!!
This brings a tear to my eye. Anthony Bourdain was a man who truly loved life.
Absolutely heartbreaking. I just wish he loved himself as much as so many others did.
No matter how hard it might get, things can always get better. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help when you’re in a dark place in life
I hope they don’t get the mops mixed up
All the more flavor, what's not to love
I'm watching this and I could have sworn I was starting to smell smoke and barbecue LOL
Can confirm, Rodney's is the best.... but then I am biased, and spoiled, as I live in Charleston...
I love how food, especially GOOD food, brings us all together. This west coast fellow would love to eat there someday.
Anthony Bourdain... A legend forever!
We used to cook one like this for the Fourth of July when I was a kid. I remember finally being old enough to get up at midnight with the men and then being able to shovel coals from the burn barrel to under the hog. It was a right of passage.
Thanks AB for introducing us to great food and chefs
Anthony, you will be missed.
RIP
We miss you Anthony 😢 you left a wonderful legacy behind on YT..your passion for food inspires me to become a better cook 👍

There's no denying that Rodney's piggy looked very, very tasty. Barbecue is an extremely polarizing branch of cuisine, for simple reasons. 1) There are many different styles and processes, different woods, rubs, sauces, smoking and cooking procedures. And different animals. 2) It takes a loooong ass time. The longer it takes to prepare food, the more work is involved and by extension, the more love and care is involved.
In the end, barbecue, like all art or things of beauty, comes down to personal taste. In saying my own favourite I'm not dissing other styles. It's not a binary choice. But if I were presented with all the styles of American barbecue and told I could eat only one dish from one style, I'd go for Hill Country Texas brisket. I'm salivating just thinking about it.
St. Louis pork steak for me.
I'm moving to Greenville, SC in the fall of 2024. I'm going to get some Texas BBQ.
Miss you Tony ❤️❤️❤️
That pork looks amazing
NO dislikes on a YT video, that's an accomplishment in itself.
Not anymore
1:33 You ever get sick of eating BBQ?!
I was there today on September 11
Almost eat my iPhone watching this mouth watering succulent barbecue 😋😋😋🐷
giovanni panganiban bought a pd from there today and now my pressure up lol
Kitisha D g luck on that 😂
1 word. DAMN
You had me at pork spaghetti
Scott's barbecue is known throughout the state. It's not a fancy place rather tucked into the depths of Williamsburg county, SC. When you come to the one intersection in the town, Scott's is the right there waiting for your business. If you don't know the name, you will drive right by it without a clue that this is one of the oldest and most famous eateries in the country.
You don't find the best bites of barbecue in fancy restaurants. My favorite joints in Kansas City are located in a diner and a repurposed gas station. The former for burnt ends, the latter was showcased on No Reservations and has a very high standard all around.
how do you like Shulers?
Pork spaghetti, you've made it
RIP Tony…you are STILL very much missed (I don’t like the mustard sauce either)!
Unless you lived in the south and had some of the best barbecue in the USA, you don't know what you are missing or talking about. So all you haters out there that are putting down this video, why are you looking at it instead of volunteering for your local charity? You have no life, can't get your life together, complaining about others. Really tired of your Life, find out what you want then stop your rant.
STEVEN ROBERTS I'm from Memphis and I got to tell you so many places here in Utah claim to be southern or Memphis BBQ and they don't even come close.
Watching boomers yelling into void is my entertainment.
Fuck, even your name is caps-locked.
Keep it up, champ. 👍
RIP Tony :(
I like mustard sauce but vinegar is off the chain. Never have been a fan of the sweet sauces; the more bitter and sour, the better.
i learned what precocious meant cus of these clips
I can't believe I liked a CNN video.
god bless
This place has the best ribs ever. Went there when I was in myrtle beach. I got the last 4 ribs. To bad I had the old lady with me!
Wowwww
Wow, people can get sick of BBQ?? I didn't even know that was possible, actually.
welp rip anthony
I see this and I think, would Ramsay eat this? Would he even get it? All I see is his haute cuisine food and the perfection of certain methods he expects
He would eat it. He loves American barbecue.
When
Anyone know the name of this place?
Scott's bbq....hemingway,S.C....come see us!!.....Real while pig bbq, ain't nothin' better!...except for maybe the hash and porkskins!!.....;)
Chris Lee Awesome! I’ll be in SC later this month so hopefully I’ll be able to make time for Scott’s BBQ!
Just remember...he opens at 9:30....no sales before then,or he'd have people there around the clock!...Enjoy!!
Chris Lee Thanks for the tip! Is there usually a long wait or a time he sells out by?
Not really a wait time or anything, hes usually cranking it out all day long...havent checked his day to day open times,..but check it,he might be closed on mondays.
Food is just not the same without him.😢
Pork spaghetti. Nom, nom, nom!
Holy shit! A mop?
Why are Anthony's videos so short though, SMH!
Man fuck all these haters. This looks delicious.
BBQいいなー(2022/09/13 17:20:36)

Using a mop lol
KC Q#1

مرحبا بكم الحبيب صباح اليوم
Thought you all don't eat pork?
the Christians ones do...so whats your point now?.....many also enjoy Texas-style Beef BBQ as well....there is something for everyone out there.
Mustard based barbecue sauce is where it's at. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know good barbecue
Pappy Reds in Atlanta has the best BBQ
How do u claim something to be the BEST of the whole country when there’s millions of different taste buds

You're going to have to suspend disbelief a bit if you're ever to enjoy watching TV.
Here in the south our answer would be.."Just 'cause.....once you try it you just KNOW...."
bow to the king. but at least u could use baguette or real bread, but please not that usa rubbish.......
turkey bbq is good but I don't like pork verry much.
It's actually quite average.
If Trump becomes president, this will be in the menu in all restaurants doing business in America
>Food made by black people
>Promoted by Trump and Trump supporters
lol
Frank Underwood, you mean?
Trump is president, unemployment is cut in half, north korea is in talks for peace, the stock market has never been higher...
Unemployment was cut by Obama and going up again under Trump. The stock market was also Obama. And Trump botched his NK visit. He is an utter failure.
@@sirdouglashowel5thseat776 And it is crashing like a wingless plane.
Just stop and come to MEMPHIS for the real deal!
Yum, GMO's! What else could make it so flavorful?
Naw man. That's South Carolina. Their are no Genetically modified pigs on those farms.
See This is why I think BBQ is all for show. Why go the whole 9 yards with the pig and serve it with wonder bread? Like you have the time, Its cheeper than buying it and you can make it exactly how you want it, hell, make it like wonder bread. like. if its on wonder bread why not just slow roast it in an oven with some liquid smoke.
a
Are u serious..this is f!?-# news with all that is going on u bring us BBQ. . sick and disqusting
+Roger Out it can be treated as a joke no matter what OP emotional state was :)
mikemoair I'm sure sin catches up and I pray he will see all evil and repent whole hardly and see what he has done here with all he did
mikemoair rage comments rise on youtube :P
Chill, bad news junkie. You can return to the Christian/Secularist - Islamist WORLD WAR whenever you need to brighten your mood.
I think she thinks because its CNN it was suppose to be a news documentary. Clearly, you have never watched Parts Unknown.
Okay that's truly disgusting.
***** Any small piece of meat is fine, larger bits is damn primitive.
***** At least I'm human. Why are you even on a Jewish machine? Aren't you to primitive to use electronics?
***** Just admit you're jealous because your own ethnicity is less evolved.
***** Can't you subhuman go drag your knuckles somewhere else? :)
Although, I don't agree with his racial slurs, you just spelled it wright. The word is write. So much for that whole highest iq thing huh?
cnn shows the owner shoving a slice of white bread in his mouth. Pure cnn content . Shjt !
Scott's is overrated... there's much better pork BBQ in Charleston. Scott is renowned more for his history and other political issues, rather than the quality of the food, IMO.
