All the main characters in the video, except the blonde girl, are members of the band playing parts related to social media. Floor the singer plays the "Instagram Mom" who constantly posts her child online no matter what the child feels. Tuomas the keyboard player is the conservationist that pretends to care about the environment but "bathes in oil" when offline. Troy the "king" is the band's multi-instrumentalist and he represents all sorts of things, crass rulers and the oil industry, only caring about his tweets getting likes. Marko the bassist is selling supplements online but is also miserable. The guy that gets beat up when his phone is different is Emppu the guitarist and the guy throwing up the horns recording Emppu getting beat up is Kai the drummer. Also Jessica the instagram model looking all perfect but doing anything for beauty behind the scenes is actually a real instagram model.
I always looked at the instagram model as what the little girl grew up to be because of the beauty standards that were pounded into her, partially by being online her entire life. The shot of Floor with the megaphone screaming at her daughter is followed directly by the woman getting lip injections.
Jukka stopped playing drums 2014, he is now the CO of the Nightwish company. They now have master Kai Hahto (the machine) on drums. Here is where he came from: ua-cam.com/video/SHoY51VCluI/v-deo.html
"I know what to expect from these guys." Oh, no you don't! You've just started on your Nightwish journey. You will be amazed by the different sounds they produce and the different genres they encompass, often within the same track. I've been a fan since early 2005 and they still surprise me.
Great reaction! You’re pretty close the way I see it 😉 Tuomas is an environmentalist in public, but bathes in oil in private. Marko pushes the pills that destroy him. Troy is a king with his phone, but his only throne is a toilet. Floor is at extremes of overprotecting and neglecting her daughter. Emppu breaks out of the groupthink and is punished. Kai takes selfies instead of helping. And everyone is so engrossed in their phones and tech that they miss the beauty of the Mona Lisa and the sunset in the mountains. They grow up, grow old, and die without ever having appreciated the beauty around them or taking the time to live. Tuomas actually said that it’s not a straight indictment of tech. Enjoy your social media & take a picture at the concerts, but put the phone down and live. If you video the whole concert, you’ll have only experienced it on a phone screen instead of as it was meant to be enjoyed live 😎 Thanks again for another great reaction and please keep them coming 🤘
Funnily we all generally prefer NIghtwish live. The album releases are great but most of us are waiting for the live versions of their songs they are a band that are best served live.
Regarding the cells phones...When presented with the question, Floor stated that enjoying art should be done through your own eyes and not through the screen of a smart phone. This also means that when you attend a concert, they don't mind a few pictures but as a band they would like you to spend that time with them, enjoying them with your own eyes and not through a cell phone.
I don't get it as a fan...you pay good money to go to the concert and then stick your cellphone up in front of your face for the whole time?? I can understand filming a part of the concert as a "we were here" type memento but seriously? You know Nightwish is going to do a top notch DVD/Bluray whatever of at least one of the concerts which is going to be so much better than your crappy cellphone recording.
@@mnewm21 a friend & I spent a small fortune to see Roger Waters - The Wall at the O2 a few years ago, and people were going to the bar DURING Comfortably Numb!!!! WTF???
@@richardgoddard37 yeah I guess some people just want to say they were there...don't really care about the experience just wanted to be able to say they were there. :(
@@richardgoddard37 Why?!?! Thats just pure insanity. Sacrilege!!! I was at the LA Forum for the original Wall concert tour some 40 (whoa!) years ago (still have my t-shirt, lol) and we were all - ALL! - spellbound to say the least.
I can 100 percent appreciate the extreme talent that this band has and will listen to them even though I am not a fan of symphonic metal. Great reaction!!!
For heavy Nightwish you can try: TRIBAL (new album Human Nature) DEVIL AND THE DEEP DARK OCEAN (live in Buenos Aires 2018). MASTER PASSION GREED (from the album Dark Passion Play) YOURS IS AN EMPTY HOPE (live Wembley arena 2015) I'm convinced you're gonna love them 😁🤘
We have never had so much noise in the world as now. It is truly their interpretation of today. Think about the babies,,,,, with a lifetime of all the noise. They weren’t touring last year, it was a good way to put something out! They are remarkable.
They have a new drummer, Jukka was the original drummer and suffered SEVERE insomnia! He asked a friend to step into his role :) They have different styles but Kai is amazing as well.
Yeah poor dude. I like Kai, but Jukka's energy on the kit is so hard to replicate. You can see it heaps in End of an Era and Wacken 2013, he's just got so much liveliness. I hope he's doing better these days, that's for sure.
Yes, this song is about how modern technology and social media can be dangerous to people if they take it too seriously and start living in a digital world not noticing the real beauty of the world around them. For the next step, I can suggest listening to: - for Floor growling: Yours Is An Empty Hope @ Wembley 2015 - for move heavy: Ghost River, Song Of Myself, both from Wacken 2013 - for Floor flexing her vocals: Storytime from Wacken 2013 also From the new album, with crazy drums -- Tribal ;)
It's a criticism of how many people are more concerned about social media and how well they look there than actually being good in real life and appreciate the real nice things in the world. The choir in front of "Monalisa", one of the most important pieces in the History of Art and they don't give a glance, instead obsessed with their cellphones and internet.
Drums - "Tribal" on the new album. Jukka was the drummer on Ghost Love Score but he was replaced soon after the 2013 Wacken performance due to medical problems having to do with insomnia. He was replaced with a new drummer (Kai formerly with Wintersun). Kai and Jukka were friends and I read somewhere that Jukka had approached Kai in the past to learn jazz drumming techniques. Jukka stayed on with the band until 2016 acting as their touring manager.
Tuomas mentioned in a recent interview that Jukka is doing much better with his insomnia. He also clarified that his management role is the CEO of “Nightwish” as a business entity. The members of the band still consider him a full partner with them.
I hadn't heard that, but thank you for posting it! I'm really, really glad to hear that he's doing a lot better, and that he's still got close ties with the band.
The "weird" parts...have you never seen The Matrix? It's a clear reference! The AI has full control of our brains, and controls what we see, hear, and feel. There's a whole real world around us, but all we notice is our own personal noise of our private illusions!
4:36 and.... here the penny is dropping... In a nutshell, I think you could say this piece is about the endless lies we tell ourselves and others about us as individuals by use of smartphones and social media. They are not against social media per se (as they use it themselves as well). By lying, we miss the true beauty about life. There are so many things going on in this video, references, allusions, ideas. So if you find the the time, you won't be disappointed digging.
The part that got me was at the very end. While these people, from the baby all the way to the old man were plugged into electronics, they were missing out on the beautiful world around them. This happens to all of us, including me. I'll have my face stuck in my phone or on the computer while a spectacular sunset is blazing the evening sky, or the Northern Lights are dancing overhead while I'm watching TV. The world is a beautiful place, and we're missing it. That's the message I get from this song. It's a powerhouse song.
Thanks Carlos for your reaction. It's so cool to hear you want to experience more Nightwish 👌 So if you really like to hear powerful music with talented drumming, please react Tribal / Nightwish Human n Nature album. This song is heavy and such a masterpiece. Mr. Kai Hahto on drums - wau. He told in his interview that he couldn't play this song with his old drum set. So he build a new set up for being able to play this song as it needed to be played. He actually added five more drums on his left side. I think you would like it. He really is a phenomenal drummer 😳👍 Take care my friend !
Great reaction. About drum sound, This is of course studio sound, but even their 2015-2018 live sound has also changed, mostly because they have different drummer (Kai Hahto), who uses Pearl drum kit. New sound is much dryer. Old drummer (Jukka Nevalainen) had Tama kit with huge, wet, almost like Metallica's Black album sound, and he hit those cans much harder. Kai is more technical and faster, but Jukka had attitude and incredible stage presence. I'm an old fan, so I miss their original drummer. If you want to see new drummer in real action, check his ex band Wintersun (Sons of winter and stars LIVE rehearsal: ua-cam.com/video/Tl5T-glTdXw/v-deo.html ). That song is pretty legendary. With Nightwish, I suggest that you continue with that Wacken 2013 show, especially now when almost every reactor is doing their new album. You can do the whole show piece by piece, or do Storytime, Ghost River and Romanticide for a start. There are many slowed down versions in UA-cam, so I suggest to use this link: ua-cam.com/video/cAwtzi7Q3Bk/v-deo.html
She growls sometimes, too, for exampe in Yours is an Empty Hope. But Romanticide, Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean, Shudder Before The Beautiful, Dark Chest of Wonders, Song of Myself, Slaying the Dreamer are also more of the heavier Nightwish songs.
You are pretty much spot-on Carlos! Following the breakdown, the facade begins to fall away, and we see a toilet and not a 'throne', botox injections in an attempt to remain attractive and relevant, unopened boxes of fat pills and masculine enhancers and of course the 'cage' in which the pageant daughter is trapped inside with Floor as the pushy 'perfect' mother! Nightwish have 3 different singers (2 males) who occasionally take lead vocals, and their sound can range from the metal that you have listened to folk, using woodwind and pipes. Overall the band can be quite eclectic, and us fans have often had to adapt our perception of what genre the band belong to. If however, you can approach their music with an open mind, you will be rewarded with the most genuine and accessible band there is today. Take care
They all have extreme music educations. Their ability to play anything is stunning. Check out any song from Wacken 2013. 3 of them are Singers. Not just Floor Jensen. Floor can growl like nobodies business! Versatility throughout! Classical, Celtic, pop, opera, heavy metal... Enjoy the ride.
basicaly band members play various typical roles associated with social media as the video is about how deep they permeate human society and our adiction to it to the point we miss the beauty of nature or even masterpieces like mona lisa . So we got an instagram model ( that blonde girl who in finland is really instagram model) doing anything to stay relevant , exposing herself, doing bottox... etc, we got a tele sales pitchman (who later we see has shit stashed to sell) , we got a soccer mom who cares more on the selfies than on her child having it trapped on this whole culture, a king who cares only about his public image, an "ecology activist" who when not in camera baths on same poluttants as the rest, some people chatting and when one disagrees gets cyberbullied... and a guy who sees violence and does selfie, and all that happens in a virtual world while we have a near life exprience instead of living a life, as u see from the baby/child/adult/oldman living whole life hooked to a screen.
Great react. I had to watch the vid a few times, and well worth watching the lyric version as well. BUTT CHEEK!! Lol! Breakdowns?? Song of Myself, incredible breakdown!!
Enjoying your reactions. Run through that entire concert at Wacken 2013. By the time you're done, you'll have 8-10k subs easy! Nightwish Army has built many channels with reactors who aren't as authentic and relatable as you come across.
Perfect time to start this Nightwish journey! Definitely listen to the new releases but u also need to listen to all the classics at Wacken 13. Tampere and Wembley are great as well. Nightwish is always better live. The energy and creativity is intense.
Nightwish is one of those very rare bands which are WAY BETTER live than in studio. Their musical excellence and unparalleled emotional force are unreal when fully unleashed on stage.
The baby strapped on the table watching society through the screen, grows old and then at the end the light turns off like a computer shutting down as he has died, all without ever seeing the true beauty just outside.
The live performances are epic and surprisingly better than the studio albums. Go through 2013 Wacken, 2015 Wembley, and Tempere in 2017 or 18 (can't remember the year). These concerts (and a few others) capture the Floor Jansen era. So many great performances; hard to pick the bad ones.
Drummer is Kai Hahto who used to be in Wintersun, another epic finnish 🇫🇮 metal band. I hope you could react to Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars live rehearsal at Sonic Pump Studio. Please and peace 🙏🏼😎✌🏼
Three MUST Nightwish songs for you (trust me, they will change your expectations): 1) Yours Is An Empty Hope (Live), 2) Song of Myself (Live at Wacken), and 3) Romanticide (Live at Wacken)
I STRONGLY recommend the Songs Ever Dream, Nemo, and The Greatest Show On Earth. Look from them from the Wembley Arena Show recorded on December 19, 2015. Those songs are fan favorites for most people who are long time fans. Nightwish is actually credited with being one of the primary bands responsible for the creation of the Meta Sub-Genre called Symphonic Metal. Floor, Tuomas, Marco, Emppu, and Kai are very humble people if you ever get to meet them at one of their concerts if you have VIP Tickets. It is really great to see you actually like Nightwish. My first exposure to them was at the end of the Movie called THE CAVE when the credits start to Roll. The song NEMO played and I fell in love with Nightwish.
Their new drummer is the former drummer of Wintersun. Speaking of which, Wintersun is amazing and you should check out their song Sons Of Winter And Stars. Do the Live Rehearsals At Sonic Pump Studios version. And if you wanna check out more Nightwish from their new album, my favorite song from it is "Tribal". Super heavy.
From the moment we are born , we are plugged into a virtual world designed to control our thoughts and perception. The person who's phone turned red became aware and was then crushed for it. You must conform or be rejected . That is what the song is about, thus the title of this album "Human Nature"
I like when Empu's phone goes red because that simbolizes that he is doing something different with his phone than the rest, and the others turn on him because he is not following along with the crowd.. and how classic is it that Kia is taking selfie pictures of the attack to post online instead of helping him..
The poet and the pendulum live wembley 2015, tribal drums, growling Marco Hietala, and Floor perfect as always, and a bunch of guys showing they are having fun , handing out incredible emotional music... it,s possible to stop smoking, but noway can you stop listening to this.
Lol... It's okay that you've never heard of Nightwish. They're not well known in the States. Cool reaction. They are most definitely at their best, Live. I've seen them live, three times, and they just get better & better. 🤘
Gotta love Nightwish man. Just check out any song from Wacken 2013 Tampere and Wembley and you won't be disappointed. You have yet to hear Floor actually do the growls. Subbed for your reaction and stayed for Nightwish.
For superb Nightwish you've got the entire Wacken 2013 show, about 2 hours long as well as Wembley 2015 (16?) and Bueno Aires 2018. And of course the new album. But they're at their best live, really.
For a real metal fan their live performances are where it's at, because all their records and videos have this softer, more mainstream mix that you pointed out. Which is certainly a deliberate choice to appeal to a wider audience and maybe get airplay. Their videos are still worth watching for their own visual artistry, which is again often very different from what they do live, but you should be aware of this.
For the best path to appreciating Nightwish, you can do any song from the Waken 2013 live DVD, which your first reaction GLS was from, next: - Romanticide - Song of My Self - Storytime.....and so on!!! You will not regret it!!
Great reaction. you should do first more 'old Nightwish', Wacken-13. hole show, Tampere-15, Buenos Aires-18. Their live shows are Superb Exellent, you wount belive what ride you are gonna get!!!! Greetings from Finland
This song is not so much about the phones and our tools themselves. It's about how we use them, what we do in social media, what kind of 'good life' lifestyles we now produce in our egoistic phony way of trying to earn acceptance, get our voice heard amongst the noise. And that noise is were that baby growing to an old man war harnished since birth. And in his death, we see the cycle is just turning a wider phenomenon, more and more are hooked. The chilling thing is the helmet showed the heart, so the viewer liked that 'sunless world' more than the real world. Check it again with the lyrics, and the tells you much more what it wants to say. For a more Power Metal type of song, there's Stargazer from early 2000. Early songs I also like involve also Wishmaster, Walking in the Air (Still my personal favourite), Planet Hell, Dead Boys Poem. Many think the 1st singer's best song is the Phantom of the Opera. It's a bit too theatrical for my taste, and unfortubnately a bit worn out because of the many reactions. But it's one of the most reacted of the Nw songs. Then later all the songs from Imaginaerium and Endless Forms Most Beautiful albums are popular. Wiki of course shows all their albums. When you now start your reactions, any song from Wacken 2013 is a hit :) And that's where you hear the first drummer. Their 2nd drummer Kai ('Ky'), the current one, is a friend of the 1st drummer Jukka ('Yook-cah') - he stepped in when Jukka couldn't continue for health issues. Kai is a beast in that he's like a machine in skillful and fast pace parts. But Jukka is more passionate, and that's what his fans like. His intro in the Planet Hell is maybe his most impressive performance, and loud as in that GLS you saw. I'd recomment you wait a bit for their 2 Masterpieces: Poet & the Pendulum, and the Greatest Show on Earth. Well, thr GSoE you could watch rightaway, but put the lyrics on the screen, it has a lot of difficult vocabulary from evolutionary biology, astronomy etc. It's sbout the story of life on this Earth, maybe in a wider perspective as well. The Song is not the greatest show, nor their concert - the story of life is. Personally I see it's even a bigger one than what the evolutionary theory says. I don't think life ends in death. But that Song tells so much about the story of life. The P & P is dramatic, it's a suicide written into a song. It came as a result of their composer (the keyboardist) feeling about to finish the band, when fans came hard on him after the band parted ways with the first singer. I don't want to pick sides in that. let's just say it didn't happen without pain, and many fans blamed the composer. I'd say when you feel you know the band members, like fter 5-7 songs or later, you might get it compassionately enough, so that the song really goes to the depths it is cabable. It's a cleansing experience: I can't listen it evryday, and it needs rather that somber mood. Of course you could check it right away: but the Nightwish songs go to all the emotions we have, because they really are story tellers. If we give them the chance. Then we get more of them. The P & P has got blocked for many reactors. I don't know is it because of who owns the rights, or why. But likely trying to take many pauses might help. They have been around since .96 :) So a lot of turns in the path. They were first more Power Metal, but have folky, Irish and other additions: they have actually very versatile songs (what do you get in over 20 yrs...). Some are not even classifiable as Metal. But they don't care - they produce music according to what's their passion: they don't want to limit themselves. The first singer sand almost solely in Operatic style. Think she even inspired the Opera Diva in the Fifth Element scifi movie with Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich. Tarja, the 1st Nw singer was one of the founders - guitarist Emppu and and the keyboardist/main composer Tuomas(=Thomas) are the only remaining ones now. They started as anall Finnish band, then Troy Donockley, the multi-instrumentalist and this third (quote: 'and final' unquote) Singer Floor Jansen (2012) came along, There was a 2nd singer too called Anette (2005-2012). Best from her are Amaranthe; Bye, bye, beautiful & Meadows of Heaven (for me). They are on UA-cam in the best quality if you watch the official videos, otherwise the fans prefer the live shows.
Nightwish has had 2 drummers, Jukka who had to step down for health reasons and now Kai who was with Wintersun. If you want Jukka heavy drumming, Planet Hell End of an Era. Kai Tribal lyric video.
I noticed the same thing when they transitioned from Jukka to Kai, and I think that it is related to drums tunning. Jukka had that deep low drum tone, Kai uses a brighter tone, I guess it is related the comes from, a band named Wintersun in which he played a more extreme metal drumming style, in that style, tighter drum heads are required for a better response to fast notes, at least that's what I think.
3:18 Neh - I don't think you can know what to expect from Nightwish after listening one and a half song... :-) Keep digging, there is something for everybody, and many suprises! Nightwish is in that sense kind of like a modern Queen.
I think it was more a statement that most people do not expect clean angelic or even operatic female voices mixed with metal. It throws the unsuspecting. Now he knows to expect that.
Great song! The album just came out today, but this single was released Feb.7th. It was the first single from the album, so you're reacting to it in the same order everyone else did for the new album material, first! It is the only one with an actual "video" while the rest have all pretty much been lyric videos. The second single was Harvest (released March 6th), then the instrumental track (and last of the album), Ad Astra. All the other songs from the first disc have seen lyrics video realeases in the last day or two as well. I have been a fan of the band since I first heard them 1998 when the released their second album, Oceanborn. They were much more guitar-oriented in the earlier days, but also more operatic with their vocal approach due to Tarja's singing style and her opera training. They have become more keyboard-driven and orchestral since Tarja's firing from the band. Your interpretation of the video is pretty spot-on. This is the second reaction of yours that I have seen. Newly subscribed today. I could provide hundreds of suggestions. I often do with other reaction channels and probably frustrate the reactors lol! I'm from the "old school" of metal and classic rock (I'm 53 btw) but I also like a lot of modern stuff as well (not so much of the metalcore, deathcore, nu-metal type stuff though). What kind of genres would you be interested in getting suggestions for? I like a lot of the heavier stuff (death & black metal) but most reactors kind of shy away from that stuff as it doesn't garner a lot of views...gee, I wonder why? haha! Anyways, take care and I look forward to seeing more reactions on your channel. Cheers!
My recommendation goes to Endlessness from the new album. Just because the second vocalist, Marco, has just perfect vocals in that. The tone of his voice brings out the longing, despair and hope that's written in that song. But it's slow and kind of melancholic, so if that's not up your alley at all then don't go for it.
Try to listen Nightwish with Tarja Turenen as lead singer just for comparison;) You already heard 3-rd (Floor). Try to listen Tarja - she is the one who actualy lift up this band to their glory. In her home country she has a nickname "Nightingale" bcose of her vocals
Nightwish's music type is called Symphonic Metal. If you really like this type of music, I recommand you to also listen to the song The greatest show on earth(live) from Nightwish. I also recommend you another band from the same style called Epica. You can start by listening to their song Design your universe. There is a lot of really good symphonic metal bands out there. If you want a list of bands of Symphonic metal I know a lot of them.
There's lots of different sides of nightwish. Just getting started. Anything from wacken 2013 is great, I really like ghost river and romanticide for the heavier side.
Drums you say? ;) You'll love Tribal then! Kai is an amazing drummer, although not quite as interesting to watch as Jukka was he's a fantastically technical drummer! He even had to buy five more drums for Tribal! Also check out the Kai Hato drum cams on UA-cam!
Nice to see that you like Nightwish! Please react to: - Nightwish : Romanticide (Wacken) - Nightwish: Yours is an Empty Hope (Wembley) then you can hop over to - Epica : Sancta Terra (Restrospect show, Floor from Nightwish joins in) - Epica: Consign to Oblivion please also look at some Canadians: - Unleash The Archers : Awakening and for something that is totally not metal: - Pentatonix : Daft Punk Medley (it’s a capella) - Dimash Kudaibergen : S.O.S. (possibly the best singer in the world) Many thanks in advance, and keep enjoying new artists!
Carlos, I'd recommend that during future Nightwish encounters you try to find the lyric version when available. Tuomas Holopainen - keyboards, writing 98% of the Nightwish material himself, always has an outstanding tale to tell or an important message to convey in everything the band produces. Understanding these stories and messages is half the ride in the enjoyment of Nightwish. In the tune "Noise" Tuomas is saying "Hey, we love the tech to the fullest. But, weren't these "phones" supposed to be a tool to make our lives better? If so, then why have we become a tool for the tool? Most of us instead of using this incredible tech as a tool to be used have allowed the tool - the tech - to take over and use US as IT'S tool as it takes over our very lives." This is a simple and quick explanation but I'm sure you get the gist. Nightwish is no ordinary band, as I'm sure you can already tell. In its enjoyment don't stop halfway. Make that next leap and discover in each piece what exactly the band is trying to say. In doing this your enjoyment of their music will be compounded with each encounter. The Army is observing your progress. Any help you may need is available - just ask. Carlos, our new recruit... Cheers!
Really check out more songs from the waken concert to hear those drums. Some heavier stuff: Romanticide, Song of myself, Storytime, Ghost River, Seven Days to the Wolves, and many others the Nightwish Army will suggest :)
Long video short, it's about people chasing the virtual world while ignoring/missing out on the real one around them. I have to add that Nightwish is best consumed live. Their studio recordings are great, but they don't hold a candle to them in concert. I'm anxiously awaiting for the new songs to make it into their live line up.
Hey man! Nightwish- The greatest show on Earth (live) If you wanna enjoy Nightwish musicianship and the second voice of theirs which is Marco (awesome vocalist too,not operatic or classical prefference), Get ready for a metal roller coaster!
There's a lot to say about this video. Long story short, the video is about how in our day in age, children are taught to be glued to a phone. And what is online is the new reality, everything outside social media is wrong
Listen to a lot more of their music mate, there are so many layers it takes a few listens to each song to get all the info to compute if you ever have the time watch the entire show from Waken 2013 it is probably them at their finest you won't watch a better performance anywhere, they really are a cut above especially with the present singer Floor Jansen she has taken this band to a different level.
More great songs: Wish i had an angel Dark chest of wonders Romanticide Over the hills and far away (originally by Pink Floyd) Elvenpath Nemo Amaranth Its a long list man!
'Right off the bat I know what to expect' I assure you you absolutely have no clue... yet. All I can say for now this album is decidedly not what everyone expected. Maybe even it will split the fan-base, I adore it but it isn't for everyone, I think.
Great! Do next: Song of Myself at Wacken 2013 - A very important thing to Nightwish is: they are so much better live.... so you can’t compare them with the studio version...
And you can find her @pezsiii
When I first saw the phone turn red I thought of "cancel culture"
I think marko also represents MLM schemes
I always looked at the instagram model as what the little girl grew up to be because of the beauty standards that were pounded into her, partially by being online her entire life. The shot of Floor with the megaphone screaming at her daughter is followed directly by the woman getting lip injections.
For Jukka really shining on drums, and a little harder sound, do Romanticide Live at Wacken 2013.
Jukka stopped playing drums 2014, he is now the CO of the Nightwish company.
They now have master Kai Hahto (the machine) on drums.
Here is where he came from: ua-cam.com/video/SHoY51VCluI/v-deo.html
Was sad ...he had suffered insomnia for many years.... he killed that waken concert...keep safe
@@loadeddog8015 Jukka had a special groove.
Agreed! Carlos is gonna love Romanticide.
"I know what to expect from these guys." Oh, no you don't! You've just started on your Nightwish journey. You will be amazed by the different sounds they produce and the different genres they encompass, often within the same track. I've been a fan since early 2005 and they still surprise me.
This is SO true. They change in every album, so you never know what to expect.
Great reaction! You’re pretty close the way I see it 😉
Tuomas is an environmentalist in public, but bathes in oil in private.
If you video the whole concert, you’ll have only experienced it on a phone screen instead of as it was meant to be enjoyed live 😎
Thanks again for another great reaction and please keep them coming 🤘
Want more drums from Nightwish? Listen to the song called TRIBAL. There's an official lyric video. It's a bit brutal. :D
So Kai is known as a beast, he had to add some drums to his kit to make this tribal noise.
@@mnewm21 yes, and stop posting that crappy smartphone recording on the web because... well, sorry but, it's crap! and it's just clutter.
For heavy Nightwish you can try:
TRIBAL (new album Human Nature)
DEVIL AND THE DEEP DARK OCEAN (live in Buenos Aires 2018).
MASTER PASSION GREED (from the album Dark Passion Play)
YOURS IS AN EMPTY HOPE (live Wembley arena 2015)
I'm convinced you're gonna love them 😁🤘
If I may also add a few more, Slaying the Dreamer from Century Child, Ghost River from Imaginaerum, and both Dead Gardens and Romanticide from Once.
We have never had so much noise in the world as now. It is truly their interpretation of today. Think about the babies,,,,, with a lifetime of all the noise. They weren’t touring last year, it was a good way to put something out! They are remarkable.
People are given social media at a young age and grow old missing out on the beauty of life.
From wacken 2013: Romanticide , Song of Myself, Ghost River . From Wembley: Your is an empty hope, Shudder before the beautiful
"I know what to expect with these guys". ... hahahaha.... remember you said that.
Wintersun... Sons of winter and stars. Live from Sonic pump studio. Kai Hahto on the drums (Nightwish)
This. x1000 if you wanna see what Kai can do on them drums.
They have a new drummer, Jukka was the original drummer and suffered SEVERE insomnia! He asked a friend to step into his role :) They have different styles but Kai is amazing as well.
In fact, Jukka is still (afaik) handling much of the managerial parts
Yeah poor dude. I like Kai, but Jukka's energy on the kit is so hard to replicate. You can see it heaps in End of an Era and Wacken 2013, he's just got so much liveliness. I hope he's doing better these days, that's for sure.
Yes, this song is about how modern technology and social media can be dangerous to people if they take it too seriously and start living in a digital world not noticing the real beauty of the world around them.
For the next step, I can suggest listening to:
- for Floor growling: Yours Is An Empty Hope @ Wembley 2015
- for move heavy: Ghost River, Song Of Myself, both from Wacken 2013
- for Floor flexing her vocals: Storytime from Wacken 2013 also
From the new album, with crazy drums -- Tribal ;)
Check out Yours is an Empty Hope live at wembley , heavy and growl..uh...ey?
I had to laugh when you said you know what to expect. You really don't. Enjoy the ride😉
The "weird" parts...have you never seen The Matrix? It's a clear reference! The AI has full control of our brains, and controls what we see, hear, and feel. There's a whole real world around us, but all we notice is our own personal noise of our private illusions!
Song of myself or Romanticide 👌great reaction 👍
It's so cool to hear you want to experience more Nightwish 👌
So if you really like to hear powerful music with talented drumming, please react Tribal / Nightwish Human n Nature album.
He really is a phenomenal drummer 😳👍
Take care my friend !
Nightwish has so many songs that will keep you in suspense. Poet and the Pendulum is a masterpiece.
Nightwish Army has built many channels with reactors who aren't as authentic and relatable as you come across.
great reaction man and you get the message right love that...keep up the good work
Welcome, and enjoy the ride. It's a biggun!. Put the NW ARMY in an epic roller coaster and it'd probably circle the equator
Tribal it's a great drummer song.
Its the circle of live, but today we all hearing the noise and don't see the reality anymore. That is how I see it
Tribal. Heavy af. Do it.
Loving it! From one musician to another you’re gonna love this journey! New sub!
Check out any song from Wacken 2013. From older concerts, High hopes or Planet Hell from 2005.
Poet and the pendulum live is a great one for the heavy and the soft
Wait until you hear Marco sing, together they are awesome. One of my favourites of Nightwish is The Greatest Show on Earth
More Nightwish! :D "The Greatest Show on Earth" from the Tampere live Concert. It will give you chills!
For the best path to appreciating Nightwish, you can do any song from the Waken 2013 live DVD, which your first reaction GLS was from, next:
- Romanticide
- Song of My Self
- Storytime.....and so on!!!
You will not regret it!!
Their live stuff is always better than studio stuff imo, so when this is done live it will be mind-blowing!
Shudder before the beautiful and The Poet and the Pendulum by Nightwish are also great
Her growls are clearer in the song Wild Card by ReVamp
showing today is all about shineing in a digital world. Forgetting about the real world.
Keep digging, there is something for everybody, and many suprises! Nightwish is in that sense kind of like a modern Queen.
I think it was more a statement that most people do not expect clean angelic or even operatic female voices mixed with metal. It throws the unsuspecting. Now he knows to expect that.
🤘🤘❤️🤘🤘 The Heavier two on the new album are Tribal and Pan!!! 😉🤘🤘
🤣🤣🤣🤣 ur lil wine🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣 great job buddy
That is your way and understanding on this video, there isn't right opinion.
I can't believe you have not done reaction videos to poet and the pendulum, storytime or the greatest show on earth.
They also did an amazing version of The phantom of the Opera(but you need the version with the older singer Tarja Turunen)
Please do Tribal from their new album. It's kinda brutal.
Leave your comfort zone. Nightwish Sleeping Sun
Please do some more NWish reactions! The army will surely suggest some of the heavier masterpieces 👍🏻🏆🥇
You should watch their Phantom of the Opera. That's one of my favorites.
Drums you say? ;)
You'll love Tribal then!
Kai is an amazing drummer, although not quite as interesting to watch as Jukka was he's a fantastically technical drummer!
He even had to buy five more drums for Tribal!
Also check out the Kai Hato drum cams on UA-cam!
They sound heavier live like most bands. I prefer watching their live performances, the music is so epic it is best enjoyed live.
Nice to see that you like Nightwish!
Please react to:
- Nightwish : Romanticide (Wacken)
- Nightwish: Yours is an Empty Hope (Wembley)
then you can hop over to
- Epica : Sancta Terra (Restrospect show, Floor from Nightwish joins in)
- Epica: Consign to Oblivion
please also look at some Canadians:
- Unleash The Archers : Awakening
and for something that is totally not metal:
- Pentatonix : Daft Punk Medley (it’s a capella)
- Dimash Kudaibergen : S.O.S. (possibly the best singer in the world)
Many thanks in advance, and keep enjoying new artists!
You should
definitely check out "The Poet And The Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show On Earth" .
do Romanticide next... very different from the 2 you've seen so far... tip of the proverbial ice-berg!
Hey man!
Nightwish- The greatest show on Earth (live)
If you wanna enjoy Nightwish musicianship and the second voice of theirs which is Marco (awesome vocalist too,not operatic or classical prefference),
Get ready for a metal roller coaster!
More great songs:
Wish i had an angel
Dark chest of wonders
Romanticide
Over the hills and far away (originally by Pink Floyd)
Elvenpath
Nemo
Amaranth
Its a long list man!
More of the heavier Nightwish stuff, Ghost river from Wacken 2013
Pan such a great song too :)
It sounds like theme from the game of thrones in some parts 🤟
Nightwish song of myself live next^^
