- Since I've owned this car for most of the year already, of course we already got started on modding it. Here's what we've done so far along with the reveal of the project at hand!

Hey theo, if your E36 engine is a M52 you should swap in a M50 Intake manifold for easy 20-30 horsepower (M50 Intake manifolds let in more air)

I supose there is a lot of people here and probably you Theo already know, but just in case you should look into swapping the original intake manifold of the 28 for the intake of a 25, the intake tubes are about 40% bigger and you can gain about 20-25 hp easy, between a 325 and a 328 there is only 1 hp of diference and that is the reason. BMW needed to do it because of some sort of emissions regulation in the mid 90s. As a class project me and my group did an engine swap of a 318 to a 328 and we put the 325 manifold in it and the thing pulls HARD, plus we kept the 318 short final drive with the OEM diff, wich will probably explode at some point but is cheper than an LSD we were on a budget.
I recommend watching ChrisFix’s drift videos, there really clear and easy to follow.

I’m not too sure about E36 M52s, but with my E46 M54... you really gotta watch out for the cooling system and Vanos seals. Those are the main maintenance issues I’ve had to deal with.

If you want to drift you need to think about suspension and power steering. Get yourself electric power steering because it wont fail. Toyota prius electric power steering is actually pretty sweet for a drift car if you dont want anything ridiculously expensive. Also look into some proper brakes. Hydro is useless if your brakes are crap. Also a proper suspension and tire setup is obvious.
